Adventure Games+Hentai=Day of the Tentacle  ;D

As for the actual website, the banner across the top seems kind of... generic.  You have an interesting font, with some nice japanese writing, which makes it seem rather original, and then a boring banner.  Maybe something anime-style or japan themed would go along with the other parts.  But it's kind of hard to judge the website when there's absolutly no content.

Aw... the reapearance of this thread go my hopes up.  I thought there was a minor diary update!  But nooooooo... m0ds is just playing with my head.  Still excited about the game though!

Dragonrose, LucasFans was the original AGS website at spaceports. And DG's is yet another parody of the REAL ULTIMATE POWER website. the one about ninjas...

Once again proving that sarcasm is not transimitted well over the internet. I did recognize them, and was just playing silly buggers. Hence the big smiley.

Unless you're just being sarcastic back at me. Then I look like quite the fool.

Ummm... Baron? The Cheshire Cat sings in the original- specifically, whenever he appears or dissapears, he sings the first verse of "Jaberwocky."   But I definetly have to agree with you on the general yuckiness of Disney sequels. Come on, Cinderella 2? Where one of the step-sisters is all of a sudden nice?

Not to mention Lion King 1 1/2.

That just scares me.

Sorry. Off topic. I'm busy procrastinating.

DG and LucasFan: Your sites look vaguely familiar... but I can't quite place them  ;D

Somebody add this to the AGS opera thread! It rocks my socks off.  My personal favourite part is the girly little "That sucks!"

Yay for Spyros Jr!  He's such a cutie. Yesseeis! Who's a little cutie-wootie. You are! You are!

Dang. Baby talk looks even stupider than it sounds.  Congratulations and general huzzah!

I know exactly how Femme feels.

Woke up this morning in severe achyness, not really able to speak.

Missed my first class, drank some iced tea.

Went to the library to research Madame de Stael, drank more iced tea.

Had lunch (chinese food and even MORE iced tea) and went to film class, spent more time drawing Celtic knots than taking notes.

Came back home, missed a phone call because my answering machine won't let me answer the phone while it's recording.

Read Chicken's entry and wondered what it means to "pull" a girl.  I've honestly never heard that expression before.

Wrote this.

Okay, this made me giggle like a school girl.  It's an anti-software-piracy ad, circa 1992, complete with old school rapping, Carmen Sandiago and Oregon Trail screen shots, and the running man.

Bam!

I'll never pirate again.

Wow.  After that spate of truly heinous announcements, we're getting some incredibly awesome ones.  The graphics so far look amazing.

But the limited release thing has me worried- just how limited will this release be?  I don't want to miss out!

Edit: The first paragraph makes no sense now, 'cause DG has editing skillz.  Before, all he had were the first to lines of his post.

Ooo! I know I know! Because they were significant technological updates, as well as graphical. They changed from a parser to point and click.  Maniac Mansion, however, already was point and click.  So unless you're going to make it 3D, it's really just the same thing as it was before, it just looks different.

Second, people couldn't play their old copies of KQ 1 and 2 anymore, due to technological changes- namely, lack of DOS support.  However, Maniac Mansion can be played through SCUMMVM.

Mats: I for one, am not afraid you're going to "screw it up" as you said. I've only recently started playing LucasArts adventures, and I've never played MM.  I couldn't care less about nostaligia or what the game was like before. I do, however, think that I can go over to E-bay and get Maniac Mansion for five bucks, but I can't play whatever games you might think up on your own unless you make up something original.

There's a saying in some fan-art circles that I feel is particularly poignant- "Tracing is great, but I'd rather see you create!"

Wow, I'm impressed!  Nice graphics, and the interaction messages are quite funny.  The music is fantastic.  Most shocking of all, your first post is in the announcements forum, and you actually have something to show for it!   ;D  I'm looking forward to the full game.

I'm rejoiced to see that our long talks on emotional response theory, the structure of a tale and postmodern approach to tradition bear their fruits, my young friend.

And if those fruits happen to have face on them and slowly fall apart, all the better!

Very cool, Las.  Oscar worthy, I'm sure. ;D

Totally off topic. Sorry!

Kinoko, you're probably the oldest person we've had to think they were the youngest.  We've even had some thirteen year olds.

Back on topic- I'd have to agree with DG about making more original games. There's a thread over at AGI, and they figured that the only non VGA Sierra games that haven't/aren't being remade are the Manhunter games.  Not to mention all the unofficial sequels.  Go make something new!

Had to go to a floor meeting today. Apparently, a cult has sprung up around this one guy Dwayne, and "Dwayne Dwayne Lord of the Dance" and "What Would Dwayne Do?" has started to magically appear on walls all over the building.  If it wasn't cleaned off by 12 noon today, the whole floor would get charged  >:( I personally cleaned out the elevators last night, and I didn't even do it.  But I get back from class today, only to see "DWAYNE IS LOVE!" written in black permanent marker on the elevator walls.  Sometimes I hate people.

Also, for bizzare and unknown reasons, I thought it was Tuesday today.  Therefore, I went to my English Literature class, which isn't today at all.

On the plus side, I'm going to go see The Producers in a couple of weeks. Yay!

Finally, thought about YakSpit's post, and realized M0ds is probably just waiting for us to get addicted before moving the thread around- or he forgot.

AGS Games in Production / Re:The Dead Walk!

Nope: it was actually a reference to walking deads in adventure games- when you can't go on because you missed something earlier.

The ultimate dream for me is to work in a Shakespearean company- hopefully the Canadian Stratford company.  Secondary dream is to also be a writer.

What will I end up doing? Teaching highschool kids grammar and theatre history. Or being a starving artist, whichever works.

Hi again everybody!

I'd really like someone other than Dorcan to try this out. I know he understands how to use the dialog system- he wrote it, after all.  But I don't know if I described it well enough in the manual. Please could more people try it out?

For some reason, everytime I see this thread I think of walking deads.   ::)

About the actual game: seems like a nifty idea.  I actually like the way the character looks magnified.  I think the health meter is a really cool idea.  Can't wait for it to come out!

Yufster: As in you sent an e-mail to a cow, or as in you sent a cow to someone over e-mail?

Another day in my life.
I accidently got a guy I know interested in AGS.  We were talking about computer games, and I mentioned that I was making one with AGS.  He got the website from me today. Nifty.

I had an 8:30 class this morning, which I barely got to on time.  When it ended, I went back to my res and slept for three hours, then was almost late for my 12:30 class.  Gotta love trying to think while still half asleep.

I might write more later.  The day is still young.
