I honestly laughed when you said FPFP was "childish." The way I figure, if every third joke would require a parental explanation, it's not childish.

And you can't go writing off the Kings Quest series until you've played KQ6. It's seriously the best of the whole series. (Jane Jensen co-wrote, and it was awesome. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!)

I'm really sorry to see you leaving TCN, and I feel really mercenary asking this, but can I submit the GTD's to Adventure Developers? I still think they're a fantastic resource that should be shared with other developers.

The original photos look really weird, since there's nothing there anymore for you to have run into.

But the new car is niiiiiiiice. Shiney!

Love.  :-*

Sorry, Eric, but last year's banquet was, well... an acquired taste. Not everyone likes saurkraut flavoured ice cream on top of their grilled sushi kebabs.

The ceremony IS on IRC.  However, you need presenters, you need the chatting room set up, you need enough ops to deal with all the extra people, etc.

And a CATERER! The one last year sucked.

There's also the option to do Gabriel Knight style text- it just takes a LOT of scripting or using a template.

Out of curiosity, have any games used the QFG4 style speech? I haven't seen it used yet.

Well, while we're mentioning games you've missed, what about Project Katrina?

It's a great idea, Broomie. Not a fan of the layout- it just seems really generic to me- but I like the idea of having one place for all the Sierra fan-games. Because frankly, there's a LOT of them.

Well, you CAN import your character from QFG3 into 5, if you have one.

Babar... I got that one on the FIRST TRY! Honestly, it's my favourite adventure game playing moment of all time.  The wolves started to move, my sister was scared, my parents worried, and I actually threw out my arm and pointed at the screen, yelling "USE THE _________!" And it worked. And I was so proud of myself and Mom said I could have a cookie.

That's one of the things I liked about Sierra games. In the games where you couldn't die for stupid things (oh Gabriel Knight, what an AWESOME game you are!) the possiblity of dying really increased the tension. It doesn't matter how many times LeChuck zaps Guybrush, he's going to live. So it just becomes an annoyance. But when the evil wizard appears and tries to zap King Graham, you'd better do something because there's actual consequences!

Oh, King James. He is the originator of my favourite quote from a monarch. When he was first presented to the English as their king, they all bowed to him. His response: "God's wounds, I will pull down my breeches and they shall also see my arse!"

Best. King. EVER.

But the ending of KQ8 was SO BAD! It just sort of... stopped.

The ending didn't even make SENSE until KQIIVGA+ added an epilogue to it.

I'm a Sierra person. I only recently started playing LucasArts games. I think every Sierra game that I've started, I've finished (except SQIII, because I've never been able to beat the arcade game at the end). However, I just can't bring myself to WANT to finish some LA games.

It's probably just my own perception, because I grew up with Sierra games, but that's how the cookie currently crumbles.

It wasn't THAT bad, Mr. Ninio. It's just that compared to the other QFG's it wasn't that good, either.

Stupid DST. It is NOT fun to lose an hour of sleep during finals.

Damn you, Ben Franklin! I hate change over.

It is, but it has come to mean up beat music with a focus on lyrics and the vocalist and little to no focus on the insturmentalists. Lemon Demon sort of fits because the only instrumentalists are Trap (sometimes) and his computer.

It sounds like a multi-user version of  Rodekill's Wurd Problems.

Nifty.
