aI must say that these are some of the best-looking hi-res graphics I've ever seen.

And the UI seems good too (I like the big Hints-button - what's te point of making a small/hidden hints-button that people (like me) who need hints have trouble finding? ;) )

I downloaded it, and tried to play it, butno luck: I couldn't make Bill
Spoiler

taste the wine, tried looking at - no response from Bill. Use: same, Talk to - ditto. Tried talking to wotsname - the guy on the left - and he just impatiently urged me to taste the wine.

but I didn't like the way my mouse respondedin-game - it was too difficult to make small movements so the verbcoin woulddisappear whenn trying to move to one verb.

Sorry that this is reply so negative...

...and there I was thinking I had mastered the DOtT-style (for backgrounds) pretty well. Looking back at my efforts I was already disappointed at my own results. Your background artist has done an amazing job! (as has your character artist) Keep it up! Please!...

Speaking of the maid: I must say that the making of the beds was v-e-r-y unnecessary, I think she should have spent the time on other things. Other than that I'm very satisfied about the house. (oh, a measuring cup in the kitchen would have been handy.  And if I'm whining, some more power socket converters would have been handy (having provided one was already a n unexpected luxury.)

Or else!

Does that work (this site seems only to cover chianti classico)?
You people are so lucky thatyou drink wine, my mum tasted the red liquid the other day and she told me it was great, and it wasn't even the â,¬23 bottle, only the "cheaper" 13 euro one. If only  I'd like the taste of wine I would have enjoyed that myself!

MUCH better. That's the first skull that actually looks like it's made of stone.
I must say that it does, but I prefer number 4 above. Number 3 has a weird round (window?) hole between the eyes, like the victim's been  executed. I prefer the look of bone in the originals (colors look better than Mad's versin, IMHO), also Mad's version looks too messy, if you're going to make it look like it's made of stone, draw a brick-motif onto a smooth-ish surface.

I do like Mad's idea of teeth very much.

Special thanks to Quintaros for all your driving, it was a real life saver, sorry I didn't drive on the last day - I was still paranoid after I drove on the wrong side of the road on the first day :P Thanks CJ and Marco for also taking me places!
...
Hah! You weren't paranoid after having been driven by me, now where you?

Thanks, that's very nice of you. :)

It's also funny to see how you're thanking us for participating in the movie - while we're thanking you for letting us play in one (if even for only some small roles), I must also say that Snarky was the star of the show/movie, in all honesty, I feel he even outperformed Ben F. Jordan.

Awright! The official (and aptly named) Mittalia feedback thread!

It was great meeting up with all the fabulous regulars again - you do make it worth the long and somewhat arduous trip every time! As for the new Mitteneers (not referring to the mixed vodka + whisky (which I didn't like BTW, burnt too strongly in my throat - and my throat is quite resistant to alcoholic burns)), you where the icing on the cake - hope to see you again next year (in an Irish castle or wherever). And Gunnar, I was relieved to see that my concerns about the linnen where unfounded - as where my concerns about the toiletpaper!

It was a divine vilal in a divine area - just the place where one would expect god to turn up - and god apparently has wikipedia access, so that means that not all internet access in Italy is as wonky as in our villa, right?)

My trip home was an expërience all of itself - shortly after Lucignano I ran into heavy traffic, when I finally got to Arese for the Alfa Romeo Museo Storico, I arrived that asturday around 17:00 hoping it qouldn't be closd for feeding time, like the supermarket. Butit turned out to be closed during every weekend - not that that mattered much though, because if I'd arrived a few days earlier or later it'd still be closed - all of August until the 29th.
I had considered getting an extra hotel because the trip to the museum had already taken up much time, add the museum visit itself which would have taken up even more time, and my planned night in Basel might just be a trip too far - especially with all the extra traffic jams I got in, insteaad of wasting more petrol standing still very often I spent a few hours standing still on the parking space, and when traffic looked milder (only slightly so) I went back on the road again - and I programmed my Garmin to seek the nearest hotel - which went quite disastrously.

The Garmin kept telling me to take a certain exit, when I did, it would announce it was recalculating my route (as if I'd taken a wrong turn), then tell me to turn back, and I ended up going back up and out of the same exit time and again), so I kept going back to the motorway, and cancelled my plans to go to that particular hotel, instead I kept on driving (on mostly empty motorways - thank goodness) to the hotel in Basel. I was told a room would cost me €55, when I got there at 4:00, it turned out to be €64.88 and the next morning I found that breakfast cost €11. On the way to Mittaly I stayed in a big and posh hotel in Germany (Sporthotel Moselblick), which cost me €0.12 more, including a proper breakfast and a bathtub in my room (more accurately, in my room's bathroom).

Anyway, I got home  at 18:00 after my stupid satnav guiding me from Switzerland through France, Germany, Belgium and finally! Holland! (I had set it to give me the fastest route, which in France sseemed to run through these 50 km/h village streets - let's have a big cheer for modern technology! 'cause that might just be teh last one anyone gives for the time being.

And if my Synology's Photostation won't let me down, you should be able to find my photo+film-collection  on http://home.ooijer.com/photo stupidly enough, it seems to not want to allow anonymous access as of yet - but keep an eye out - I'll keep on trying to stubbornly fix this, so one day (/year) I might just get it to work.

Edit - fixed it now, and you can leave comments by clicking on the "Commentaar toevoegen" - sorry, chaps (& chicks), this software is in Dutch

Good of you to say that! I'll pack a cool DVD, I know at least you will like it, Mark, being the short-movie maker you are.

It was almost certainly me, since I'm known for my snoring. Don't worry though, this year only my girlfriend will have to endure it, and she should be used to it by now.
Well, actually, now that you mention it, it was indeed you, and I only heard you one time, wasn't too upset about it though, you sounded quite modest. I just tagged it (like your girlfriend, I presume) as cute, and ignored it from then on. (OK, tried to ignore it) You weren't as bad as the other bloke I once heard in the hostel in Niagara, NY, he snored violently and I couldn't catch sleep for a while, oh well, I woke the poor sod who'd missed the taxi to catch his flight home, he slept too soundly.

The stories you get from vacationing with people who snore, will keep you amused for years on end. In that sense, I suppose I ought to be grateful to you snorers!

I didn't have much to complain, except for a snorer in my room :o

Oh no, that has a 1 in 2 chance of being me  :'(
Fear npt, I'm nogt complaining too much, I was only joking. And besides, I don't think it was you.
I hope I haven't insulted you into wanting to NOT bunk with me anymore?
#53
I didn't have that much to complain about the linnen. I can't remember if I had used what was provided or used my own - since I would go on tour after Mittens Vice Edition, I'd already brought my own - you're expected to have your own in hostels. But I think I used the mansion's linnen, and I didn't have much to complain, except for a snorer in my room :o. But I won't blame that on the linnen. Besides, the snorer was good company when awake.
#54
Just wondering if we should bring our own linnen, or if it's included in the rent.
#55
C'mon guys n gals!

It's a real bummer that all these wonderful people aren't coming this year, but look at who is: US! So it's gotta become an awesome Mittens, right?
(even if only because the venue is perhaps the awesomest I've seen, with all deserved respect for the France and Florida locations)

Oh BTW, back on topic: are we supposed to bring our own linnen? Or is it provided/included? (I hope it is, because I won't have much luggage space to carry stuff with me and I plan on bringing some clothes too which will take up most of my luggage space, then add towels etc and I'll be fully loaded.

Very damn!
I hope your personal/income situation will improve soon.
Mittens won't be the same without you 2.
[sob], My very first Mittens without you!

Quote from: AGA on Tue 22/06/2010 18:53:33So I guess that means Tarah isn't coming either?
Sorry guys ... I'm afraid she just won't go without me.

I really am going to make every effort possible to pull this off.  It's not looking good, but I'm not giving up hope!

And mods I don't want the money back so unless, as you posted earlier there aren't more people coming, it shouldn't make a difference right?  You won't have to back out!

Ugh!  This really sucks :(

Oh and Marco ... she's a black-belt in Kung Fu so I don't worry at all about letting her loose among you guys!! ;)
Wow. Now my mind is filled with images of how your first date went. You mean you would be worried about us, right? Right? Right?
Back on track, yes, this is all very succulent.

That's a real shame Darth!

And sadly, if you and your misses can't go and we don't find additional people (or Grifone won't allow a discount due to reduced numbers), I'll be bowing out too cos of other financial problems  :-[ What is it with 2010?  :(
The year itself is fine, just slots neatly between  2009 and 2011. It's just that the point-n-click gods seem to frown upon Italy being the country of choice.
It's a real shame, Jeremy, I was looking forward to seeing you again! Whatever it was that needed your presence back home so badly must've been pretty bad, so double bummer - but by all means no reason to keep your GF away from us, Jeremy old boy! You alreadyshielded your date from us in Florida, remember? So you owe us this time.

Hope you'll be able to make it anyway!

God news: my bank balance has gone from red (if even only mildly so) to black (or blue, however you call that), so I've paid the $101 + fee to harboe (aka Gunnar) will pay the rest later on, I promise I will!
