Coffins are without a doubt the most disturbing things in this world.
What about S Club?

If CJ died I would regret not hugging him more often.

It looks better.
Maybe if you gave those 'arm-bits' of the couch some shading it wold give them more depth.

Odd how you say that, as Henry Selick (who directed Nightmare Before Christmas) is making a Coraline movie right now.
Which is nice.

Oooh! That's the spiffiest news I've heard all day. Thankies.

A good style for coraline would be a sort of Tim Burton meets Day of the Tetacle meets freaky blue lighting.

Basically, it looks a little too 'light'. Try making everything a little bit distorted as if you were seeing coralines perception of the world.

Good luck. I hope you do the book justice.

I think his arms should 'flow a little more rather than be 'stop/start'.

If you know what I mean, my fine bannana ointment...

I hope to write comics and then die young from starvation after making many comic books, TV series and movies...And I want my coffin to be made of cheese...

Okay, that's my ULTIMATE dream. More realistically I'd like to work in character animation/ design and do comics on the side...
And die young... :P

Very shiny and bootiful.
But I have to say I prefer the more 'cartoonish' flat-shaded look.

Very nice.
Looks almost like a cel-shaded 3D picture...

Edit: ooh! One thing. Maybe his wrist should flop a little bit when his arm goes back.

Beutiful!
That green alien looks like Jab

My favourite is the second guy along. Everything about him just seems to..sit really well.

Stay on topic, people or I may have to pop a cap in your asses.

Okay, before I post this I'd just like to say I am aware of the fact that this picture has been royally sodomised by MSPaint:

Righto. I know there's a lot wrong with this picture but apart from that there's one main difference from yours.
Her pose.
The way a character stands, moves, their facial expressions says a great deal about who they are. It looks like you tried to draw her in mid-walk. That's probably not a good idea if you're just getting to know a character even if all they do in the game is walk around.

This may not be a pefect pic but it has personality. That's what you should be aiming for in my opinion.
