Yes.
I doubt you would get sued but don't forget:

YOU ARE NOT A PROFFESIONAL!

I do not mean this as an insult, but as a statement.
Don't take it the wrong way; it's a blessing.

Now, many creative have been subject to their dreams being crushed by big companies who won't let them be imaginative because thinking isn't cost effective.

Now, here's us. The indy scene. We make games that we want and how we want AND WE ARE NOT LIMITED BY ANYBODY.

If you use someone elses idea you lose alot of that freedom. You have to stick within someone elses rules and make sure you don't upset any fans. Which you undoubtably will.

So, change some names, come up with an original plot. Be inspired but at the end of the day do YOUR game. Not someone else's.

...

What was the point of me typing all this out for someone who probably won't listen?...

Hmmmmn...

I remember seeing a short clip on the original 'Ring' on Channel four during halloween.

One of the random celebrities they'd got to contribute said somthing like "Now in a hollywood film they'd probably have had the girls hand burst through the TV set or somthing. But y'see in THIS film she just crawls out a doesn't stop"

I watched the clip and I thought 'THAT is genius!'

She didn't stop, the camera didn't cut away. That movie have so much talent put into it to be able create somthing that stays scary for so long.

They showed a hundred clips from various horror movies in that program. They were all taken out of context and so, wern't very scary.

EXCEPT that freaky TV girl. That was the only clip they showed that geniunely frightened me. Not frightended in an "Oh my god I will never, ever watch another video again!!" way. Just frightenend of the imagiary itself, on it's own. I wasn't even too clear on the plot.

So, if you can come up with somthing as spooky, disturbing and royally fucked-up as the freaky TV girl, I shall worship you and your game.

I think it's perfectly possible for somthing to go from one medium to another.

The trouble is, some people just arn't willing to make the sacrifices nessercery to do so...other people do it too readily.

Okay, let's say I was making a movie about Monkey Island.
I can't bloody well have two people with swords speaking to each other and then a brief bit of swordsplay. It might be a bit comical for a few seconds but would make the audience feel pretty awkward after a while.
Also, you couldn't have mad-cap, swahbuckling, Johnny Depp, blockbuster, kung-fu, slow motion sword battles either.

You'd need to find a compromise, somthing that stays faithful to the original game but also works as a film. Or visa versa.

It's probably quite a tricky skill, so it's small wonder that not many people have managed to pull it off. But it is possible.

How many 'dumb laws' topics do we have now?

Did you know that in some places it is illegal to give alcoholic bevarages to a moose.

Well...The twiddle puzzles in Toonstruck were pretty unforgivable. The Simon the Sorcerer had some real stinkers, too.
Hush puppies...Jesus...

I have a deviantARt account. The server is generally okay for me. It takes about as long as a massive page filled with 30 or so thumbnails would usually take to load.

I like the site, it doesn't have too many rules.

I'd prefer if you posted this in it's true size.

Anyways. I like the style ALOT. It would be great for an animated cartoon...I'm too too sure how it would loook in a game, though.

That is one crappy looking zombie. Whoever made those toys should have their eyeballs shaved.

I gotted:

A Trogdor hoodie
The new Discworld book
The Animators Survival Kit
Donnie Darko DVD
Some sort of simplified D&D game (I always wanted to play the original but I could never find it anywhere)
A Discworld calendar
The latest 'Sandman' graphic novel (I haven't read the other 73 but...)
Some oil pastels and a big sketchpad
The Animators Workbook
Edibles
Monies
Vouchers
A pen shaped like a bat

So...I did rather well. Being young at christmas rules!

Really cool. I like his slowness. It matches his dejected, wobbly head.  :P
