Entertainment Companies at the moment really need to try and get out of their "profits over quality" phase.

All the games are clones...
All the movies are over-hyped...

And good cartoons are slowly being phased out!

What next? Even novels have started to just become clones of the latest bestseller!

That character animation is really cool.

You can see a lot of inspiration from this game I really liked at the time; Gex 2.

I liked the DANG DANG type sounds.

Jack Orlando had backgrounds a little bit like that...except they were more realistic and less sketchy...
Go for exagerrated realistic style with dark colours.

It does look like they're going to do a good job of making it 3D.
