It IS a neat idea. But yeah, as Domithan said, the main thing now is to plan out how exactly all the nuts and bolts of this idea fit together in a game.
An intuitive way of switching badges seems important, but don't be too explicit. The idea of figuring out on my own that I can possess these various animals and figure out how to use their abilities on my own is very appealing.

An in-game hint giving system might be a nice addition.
I only suggest because I bought the Indieroyale bundle and asking you for hints on MSN has become a slightly undignified option in the last few years.

I like "War... War never changes" it sounds bleak at first but the more you play the Fallout Games the more I see there's an optimistic side to it too because the best of humanity's survived along with the worst.
I'm sure it wasn't meant to be that deep when the team first wrote it but WHATEVZ.

I'd agree with that but I think mostly because once you've solved the puzzles once Adventures Games are generally pretty short and sweet little stories.
My girlfriend plays this DS dating sim game over and over, trying to get all the boys with all the hairstyles into her clutches. It takes her a few days each time but there's strategy in trying to manipulate the story in the direction you want so I guess once you get into the rhythm of it it's not too much different from replaying a game of Tetris to see if you can beat your high score.
