Read the papers, rummage through the corpses jacket, anything to delay doing anything sensible like running back to the payphone.

There's a little bit of new content related to the film on my DeviantArt: http://eggheadcheesybird.deviantart.com/gallery/31442672

For the curious.
And the FOOLISH!

Aw man, I want to be involved in this magical AGS pixie circle.

And...and.. Google had webcammy type talking technology built into gmail and that other thing they did that I can't remember the name of so maybe this could one day replicate the magic that used to happen on the AGS Stickam rooms.
I got powerfully nostalgic for those today.

Rectangular pixels, yeah? Beat that please! NOTE: enlarged version is a little distorted

This is the first episode I've heard and it's great and I love it and I want to listen to the rest.

I'm not buying any games this year because I realised I don't appreciate the ones I have.

I realise this will basically equate to me bankrupting myself in steam and gog's inevitable 'winter sales' come New Years Day.

I played fullscreen and stayed until the end of the song.

I think that's winning in a WAAAY :(

EDIT: Aw man, I just read the readme! Oceanspirit's played by Icey! That's AWESOME!

General Discussion / Re: Phone Hacking

I'd love to live to see the Murdoch empire crumble, it would restore my faith in peoples ability to stand up for what's right and somewhat waylay my guilt that the money on my Firefly DVD wriggled it's way up the system and ended up forming part of the paycheck for a slimy private investigator or Glenn Beck or *shudder* a Family Guy writer.

And yeah, the phone hacking thing's always been despicable and unacceptable. It was despicable and unacceptable back when we just thought it was just a way to embarrass famous people, it's worse now. It's good people are finally taking an interest.

I was going to draw some hi-res alpha channel madness but then I got jealous of the big boys and wanted to be more like them.

20 colours, I am comfortable with this image!

Critics' Lounge / Re: "Epic Game" Idea
Thu 30/06/2011 11:20:36
I think you need a better title, Epic Movie was an uncreative title with uncreative content to match.

I remember when spoof movies used to have clever titles; Naked Gun, Blazing Saddles etc. They're silly ANd they evoke the genre they're parodying and there's LOTS of things about video game titling conventions you can make fun of.

For instance:

Use of more than one colon
Overused words such as Redemption, Reckoning, Reloaded and Resurrection
Previously mundane phrases that someone realised could look cool on a cover

So just with those out of my butt ideas, my proposal would beeee

Over Easy: The Redemption: The Reckoning: The Resurrection: The Radish: Reloaded: The Reckong: On Shores Of Bullets

OMG, what a shocking violation of the 1930's Hays code!!! :o :o :o
Married couples should only ever be shown in separate beds!

I find much worse the very fact that she sleeps with her make-up on.

I find it disturbing that she's so HOTTT. Hot. Hoot. Oh no, impure thoughts... impure... thoughts...

Ah, that's better...

Hmmn..

HMMMN...

Oooohhh...

Oh wait! No!

I think I lost track of my message. Never mind

NEXT: Eraserhead

The Kricfalusi influence is something I believe every cartoonist needs to fight with all the strength they can muster, but there's ultimately no shame in losing to it.

Thanks for all the kind words!

And Ali, you're not the first to say, but there's just so damn much of that character.

I'm following Obi's example and posting up my third year project from my animation course.

Like Obi did, we wanted to buck a few of the trends of student animation and do something with dialogue and jokes and that rather than flashy showreel stuff (though it must be said Anna's character animation is pretty damn lovely). We also made made it seven minutes long, which is a record for our young course. Anyway, here it be:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adyM7aDRl3g

The group consisted of me, John Bowen and Anna Pabian. And Scavenger was there too to make us feel good about ourselves by laughing at the jokes.

We wrote the story together.
John did all the backgrounds and music (and animated 'You cowards!')
Anna animated the bits that look good.
I animated the bits that look insane.
The voice of Tambourine Man was a local actor, writer and youth theatre organizer called Martyn and he is probably the best discovery since electricity.
I am proud of all of us.

My co-directors don't share my concerns but I'm a bit dismayed by the quality and the 30 seconds of black at the end so we might be uploading a new version next weekend.

Anyway, hope you enjoy. I haven't shared it anywhere else so far!

Is the current 51 wearing eye mascara?

Eeeesh, I'm glad Carter put some distance between himself and this Montgomery character. I do not trust them.

I want to kiss so very many things in this thread

I'd say no, adding a jiggling mouth to a big portrait never did much for me apart from distract me from the character, and lavish, fully-animated portraits doesn't make sense either because of the requirement it be non-specific and looping. Adding the capacity to show different emotions is much, much more important than giving your character an animation with no emotion; but lots of smooth, braindead writhing.

It's lovely of you to open this up more! It's always actually been my secret dream to release something with 'Executive Producer Dave Gilbert' written on it. Read it! It oozes credibility!

This should be all of your dream too, would-be self publishers! You should work with this man, it is a better way than any way you probably have planned!
