Comedy performance that's playing to an audience and comedy performance that's playing to a camera has a totally different tone, which alone I feel validates it's existence. The new Red dwarfs, especially the first one which was a lot less cinematic, felt like it needed an audience reaction to justify the kind of broad acting the cast were doing.

Of course they COULD have changed their acting style but they're old men, Progz. They're set in their ways.

I actually liked the first part a lot, after that... well...

It's likely Doug Naylor had the idea for a while but unfortunately The League of Gentlemen beat him to executing it and did it a hell of a lot better. It seems ironic that something that something so transparently intended as a tribute to the fans ended up as more self-indulgent than anything the show's ever done...

That said, not the worst episodes. Blade Runner references are a pretty safe bet.

EDIT: Oh, and I TOTALLY missed the studio audience. If they do another series they need to get that back.

The main thing missing is the 3D capability, the lite version should be fine for a platformer.

Although I've got so say, I don't think I've ever played a properly good Game Maker platformer, the creative and ambitious people and the people who are good at scripting in that community seem to be very much two separate camps.

I went for the first method in my game by having a guy who wouldn't let you  outside a village unless you had a weapon to defend yourself with. A| little contrived, but that's what happens when you have minimal planning.

Now what I SHOULD have done is have devised some kind of puzzle that would require the player to use the item before they get to the point they need it at. I think re-using items for multiple puzzles is the best way of throwing the player off the scent that they're being manipulated; stops them from thinking they've only been handed an item because it's going to be important to the plot for them to have it later.

I think her waist might be a little too thin too, especially since she's got broad-ish shoulders.
