I think Stupot may have stumbled upon a pretty good solution here.

Are people playing for the Canon or the characters? A more static, sitcom-like approach could be the way forward. Not that a lot of the game's weren't like that already.

There are a lot of puzzles in Grim Fandango like the vault door and the tree pump which I don't understand. I got the solutions from friends and walkthroughs but I don't know WHY the solutions worked.

Personally though, my least favourite puzzle is how you get past the domino-rigged bomb to get to the bone wagon. It requires doing the completely unrelated action of giving a bottle of stuff to Glottis which then makes him run off and drink a whole barrel before running back to the same position he was before and then vomiting in the exact direction you needed creating handy walkable vomit.

How did Manny know this sequence of events would occur? Is he magic?

I'm actually not sure I ever have.

But only a few times has it made me go "Oh! I could have worked that out if I'd stayed at it a bit longer", usually I think "I wouldn't ever have got that except by accident, this is a terrible puzzle and I'm glad I didn't waste any more time on it"

Most games do have at least one terrible puzzle at some point. If walkthrough's didn't exist I might never have got to see the good stuff that came after them.

This story sounds well like my cup of tea.

I would draw them a picture of Vampira, hoping to create an alternate timeline where Maila Nurmi  is worshipped as a deity and her shows archive tapes don't get destroyed.

Apart from that... I think I could probably learn more from them than them from me. unless they REALLY wanted to know how to bleed a radiator.

You can't see it but I did actually take the time to edit that MSN window, her Email is itgirl1927@hotmail.com in case you were curious.

Man, on such a Clara Bow kick right now. I could seriously kick like a million Clara Bows...

To be honest, unless you really think you'll regret not seeing him, it sounds like he might not be worth bothering with.

If anyone's willing to team up with me to do code and level design while I handle graphics and game-text then I have a hunch we could get a pretty frigging slick sleigh-based R-type clone out the door by the 25th.

Otherwise I'll probably just... I dunno... draw one of my characters in a Santa-hat or something lame like that.

Yeah, it's okay.

I've always used horror-themed to mean 'themed around things which are associated with horror without actually being in the horror genre' so AVS fits that term rather neatly in my opinion.

I didn't enter because I don't have a favourite martial arts movie.
Start a photoshop contest about something rad like chickens or french people and I'll be all over it.

Isn't resorting to tricks found in books to get sex kind of acknowledging that you're a shitbag who doesn't really deserve any?

Jesus, that's ridiculous. I hate it when people decide they're living in a bad 'what if' novel and do stupid stuff like this.

We have strong indicators that http://twitter.com/EHCB is written by a woman (90%).

Not sure to how to feel about that. I guess I'll think about it over a box of chocolates and some Patrick Swayze movies.

On a bit of a Raquel Welch kick today.

Wait... Did I just TURN DOWN the opportunity to draw boobies?
