General Discussion / StoryGen

http://www.developer7.org/story/

No, it doesn't generate stories. It gives you a starting phrase that I set and you add another phrase, then the starting phrase turns to that and other people continue it etc. not knowing how it'll turn out. After 25 phrases, it changes to display the result until I reset it :). Enjoy!

Edit: Archives now avaliable!

Edit 2: News section added!

Edit 3: StoryGen homepage added! Have StoryGen by the side of your homepage! A phrase a day keeps Elliott Hird away ;)! http://www.developer7.org/fshp.php?url=http://www.YOURURLHERE.com/

^ Yeah, you have to go by the name of "Elliott Hird" and be disliked by the community.

No. That's a secret website for nobody except the reality on the norm staff.

No popups. Good. Nice. I like it :)

“Hello, world!”

Smart quotes. Lovely. But painful to type manually (alt+1somethingsomethingsomething - hard to remember). Word can do it. So should Mozilla Mail. Anyone know of a plugin to convert "this crap" to “this awesomeness”?

They have graphics drawn at 240 - but since your backgrounds are at 200 it would letterbox.
#109
No - it's fullscreen on my computer. Blame your graphics card - few people have that problem so you should keep it. For me it's 320x240 that causes the black border.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Re: shooter

A good idea would be to *gasp* do it yourself - that is what the scripting language is for.

I dont think you can right click away from the pointer but if you can, you'd have to use the rooms on_mouse_click and something like CatchEvent() (is that it?)

Well, we can't write the whole engine for you! You could get all you can done and then we'll help all we can. Remember: the manual is your friend :)

^ I've checked those versions out before, it is SLOW!

Honestly, all this fuss over nothing! It's fine, perfect and dandy right now and it isn't biting anyone (except for that one time). Why don't we just keep it?
