Other failed large (at the time) AGS team projects: Sam & Max 2, Tank, Demo Quest 2, Vestibule.

I wasn't specifically talking about CSS, even with the olde tyme font tags and bgcolor attribute you don't need one for every cell. Nice to know you're progressing into CSS though.

Small tip: You don't need font tags around every single bit of text on that page, nor do you need to specify a background colour for every single cell, but I'll leave it up to you to find a better way to do it.

You can give VMware a try, if VDMsound and DOSBox doesn't work for you.

No love for the wiki, eh? You'll hurt AGA's feelings.

General Discussion / Re: Name this font!

It's not the same font, but Eagle Bold and ATEagle-Bold are pretty close.

I used What the Font? to find them, you could have a look yourself in case I missed a better match.

Alternatively, that website suggests using Identifont if you can't find the font on their site. Identifont works by asking you lots of questions about the font. They also suggest asking font experts in their forum in this thread.

Although keep in mind that fonts tend to be pretty expensive, and you're probably better of asking the café for a higher resolution sample to scan and use, although that may or may not be perfectly legal.

Edit: Damn you, Smiley.

No, Farlander. I did not say, or imply, that.

And unlike what Domino may have heard, they did not detonate anything.

The 'as' thing definitely occurs, I've noticed it too.

Also: Google recognises the 'as' version more.

That may be, but "as god is my witness" wins over "as god as my witness".

That the movie is make believe, I expect. See BerserkerTail's link.

Your monitor isn't correctly calibrated for the resolution the game is running in, but that's easy to fix: When playing a game in fullscreen mode, use the buttons on your monitor to adjust the viewable area. Judging by your description you would need to adjust the "keystone" value (if your monitor doesn't have text descriptions, it's the option indicated with a drawing of a trapezoid).

Excellent idea. No-one can beat my highscore in Novo Mestro though.

Minor suggestion again, regarding the to do article you mentioned having created: add more links.

The first design point, for instance: "Design the conversation interface". Where? I created a conversation interface article stub and linked to it from the to do list. Most of the other stuff on the to do page should probably also link to somewhere.

By the way, there doesn't appear to be a stub template yet.

It almost looks like this project could be finished. I might even contribute with some puzzle design when it reaches that stage. Considering that's as far as I've ever gotten with my own cancelled projects, I suppose it's better to do it for a project others will ensure gets finished once I eventually give up.

There's one thing though: At this point, what exactly do you expect contributors to do? Talk in the discussion page for the various episode articles in order to finalise the story and locations needed or?

Perhaps a "New contributors" article where you describe what a new contributor can do at the current stage of the project would be nice. Updating it whenever more stuff can be done, such as saying "Story for episode 1 is now finalised. Puzzles still need some more work (link to episode 1 puzzle article), but backgrounds we know we need can already be created (link to article saying what backgrounds have/haven't been made yet).

From what I gather you're not operating with separate production teams per episode any more, is there a reason why the forum still reflects this working method?

Edmundo: You could of course simply create a user stylesheet with max-width defined on the body. Opera supports user stylesheets by default, and I assume Firefox supports it also in some way, either by default or through an extension.

This rule seems to do the trick: body { max-width: 1280px !important; }

Will probably screw up some sites. Nothing's perfect. Replace 1280px with your preferred value.

General Discussion / Re: Wii

It's about the games for me also, which is why I'm buying the Wii. I've already got a PC I can play games with slightly better graphics than the previous version of the game on.

This is truly exciting news for both communities. Of course, I've known about this for a few months now, having been approached by CJ and Mike to be the lead tester for the new system back in November of last year. It was some pretty stressful work to begin with, but after we all met up at Wintermeet to work on the final few details for the alpha version the quality of the new system has improved rapidy. The new system lacks so many exciting features not in AGS and Wintermute that puts the current two systems to shame.

It's going to be awesome. And if you find any bugs in the new system, I'm the one to blame
