Giorgione and Titian. Portrait of a Venetian Gamer. c.1510. Oil on canvas.

Original.

Should have done more effort in making the monitor look like it was painted, but I had no idea how.

Edit: I updated it somewhat.

I suppose this is a perfect time to suggest we make PPs be monthtly instead of weekly. There'll be more entries because of the longer window plus people will hopefully not be too bored to make entries like it seems they are now.

Do your own homework.

Abandonware isn't a legal term, it's just a word people use to defend warezing old games.
#325
That's because they're in your cache since you've viewed them at worth1000 already. The images worked for me after I went to the URL you linked to. They seem to have disabled hotlinking.

Download the Gimp then, or a trial version of PSP.

CJ, via www.westhost.com, the deluxe option.

They're not lost, the forums are just disabled for the time being.

Edit: Oh, you meant the 25% oldest posts there. Vanished most likely. Last time CJ did post deleting he was trigger happy  too. Even stickes were lost. He has them on a CD but you know CJ. Effort and all.

Rename it to whatever.zip.txt then, and tell the person who receives it to rename it back.

From left to right: Apprentice (notice HighwayGal'sWoman's feet), Grr! Bearly Sane, King's Quest II VGA, The Uncertainty Machine, Demonslayer 4 and Astranded.

EDIT: Aoaoaoaoaoao, I forgot The Uncertainty machine. Cheers, JetXL!

Yeah, way to not answer him jet. You should have done what I did, quote the relevant parts from the thread for him.

Edit: Or did you mean he didn't answer your question "Who can first name them all?"?

Strazer, who made it, I should assume.

I have it because it's not hotmail.

So it is exactly what scotch said then?
#335
Ooh, it even seems it was my idea. Not that I can remember suggesting it.

What kind of old style 2D game? Could you name some game titles? I can't really understand what you mean with "on the ground", 2D or 3D.

You move the mouse just like in a 2d p&c game, it moves relative to screen coordinates so it feels the same. Then we use a bit of mathematics and collision checking to trace a line from the camera, through the cursor, into the scene to see what 3d coordinates the mouse is pointed at.  Like how a fps finds what point your railgun hits when you click the fire button, except the cursor isn't always in the middle of the screen like an fps crosshair.  Of course a mouse can't move in 3d, but that is not necessary to click on an unit in a 3d strategy game for example, it's the same idea.

The way I understood the original post was to use this method but let the cursor be a 3D object which is rendered near the object you're pointing at, so it's easier to see which object will be affected when you interact. I.e alter the Z-coordinates of a 3D cursor, possible a hand, based on what you're pointing at, while X and Y coordinates are moved normally by the mouse.

You use a burning application and make an image instead of burning to a cd/dvd. Should be possible in most burning applications, but you might have to look around the menus and help files a little as it's not usually done from where you would assume.

Yeah - I was trying to avoid the Daemon Tools route, since I'd have to set up the multiple drives every time I played.

In case it was a response to me, I was suggesting making a DVD to see if it worked, but instead of wasting a DVD+-R on it if you've got no RW simply use Daemon Tools.

Make an iso instead and use Daemon Tools for simulating a DVD drive.
