Critics' Lounge / Re: Promotional art

Apart from the confusing ground colour Darth pointed out, the parchment on the rocks really bugs me. The way it sticks out so much I guess I could live with, but it looks too perfect. That unuturally perfect curling thing it does at the ends. The logo is also competing with the sun and the parchment for attention, making it bigger would be a cheap way of solving that, but there's probably plenty of other ways; Even ignoring my overly picky criticism.

All in all, very nifty pixelation.

I agree, but closer to the real MAGS than the current batch.

No eric, it just suddenly starts hurting like hell while you're lying still. I've only ever gotten them while sleeping, and like Kinoko mentioned, it's the most awful way of waking up, ever!

What about the tube of lubricant next to your monitor?

My desktop. My Linux server is the blue one, currently without a PSU. Look at the cute mousebungee next to annoyingly big monitor.

My completely safe main PC. The PSU broke a week ago so I'm currently using the one from the blue. Yes, it's normally covered up and no, I did not bother to wash my floor just for these pictures.

Lovely "homemade" A3 posters.

You're right, it's not going to happen. It did happen almost two weeks ago. Read the second page of this thread or go here.
#389
Probably not as you can click through text in it.
#390
Meaning that you actually think it's a fascinating and worthwhile discussion?

mätzyboy, instead of having left click walk and double-left click interact, simply let single left click do both. If you click on nothing you walk, if you click on something you interact. This obviously means you must ditch pointless hotspots such as walls or chairs you can't do anything with anyway, and must provide a feedback so the player knows the mouse is over a hotspot.

Broken Sword 1 and 2 used this method and it works great.

You want to encourage new people to post with a big font-size?

http://forums.adventuregamers.com/showthread.php?t=4242.

Probably just a one-off occurence so it's not a counter-argument, your comment just reminded me of that thread.

Adventure games are dead as far as the stereotypical gamer is concerned, but I'm positive that using such radical techniques as actually advertising games in magazines besides gaming magazines and targeting people who don't upgrade their PC every other year and isn't in the 14-28 demographic, adventure games and other non-FPS games can turn out to be very profitable. Easier said than done though.

Spoiler
Because playing that game was all you people ever did up there?

Remember to use the pencil, not the brush, and turn off antialiasing on all the tools you use.

Should be on top of "Forum Profile Information". Works for me at least.

Failing that, ScummVM reports 80% compatibility with CoMI with only minor glitches. Sadly though the awesome save and menu screen is ditched in favour of the MI2 one. It works though.

Normally I would be amused that you thought I was being serious Shba, but this time, for some reason, I feel like clarifying: I like avatars, I'm just opposed to increasing their size.

Before CJ gets any ideas, I veto the suggestion of bigger avatars. I say we go the opposite way and decrease their size. And the sigs as well. And the er, nick length.
