The entire line got underlined CJ, and the "Topic: " bit and onward would get red as well. Anyway, it's fine now after you jibbled with the doctype.

Yes, the top thingy looks weird. Also, the links on the top and bottom of thread (AGS Forums | General | General Discussion etc. etc.) get underlined when you move a cursor over it, and it looks bad in my opinion. I also noticed that those links in posts (Reply, Modify) seem to have smaller font than earlier.

It used to be like that before the move to SMF 1.0 as well and it was (and is again now) really annoying. Well, the underlining I couldlive with, it is the way all the text shifts to the left when you move over each of them that is wonky. Oddly enough, it works perfectly in here in the reply page. CJ, have you jibbled with the settings as well as upgrading the forum?

Edit: The reason it worked in the reply page was because you'd fixed the XHTML problem meanwhile. It works splendidly now. Carry on.

If you read the URL you can see a major invention the Swedes gave the world which he forgot to mention.

Minus one room it does.

Shba, they're not using a shortened form. They're just unable to spell it properly.

But more of a comedy, as is most Asian horror movies.

For centuries, inventors have been claiming to come up with magnetic motor designs that use nothing more than the power of permanent magnets for the motive force; and for the same amount of time, mainstream science has responded that this is impossible.  "It has been proven mathematically that no combination of permanent magnets in any arrangement will generate power." As far as reputable online news sites go, I wouldn't rank Pure Energy Systems News among the highest.

Surely he uses the Carrier Pigeon Internet Protocol, which makes it okay.

I don't care about tasteful as long as it's funny.

DOTT: The right handed statue that becomes left handed in the past, so that nurse Edna cannot hang on to it in the present.

I don't really like that puzzle. It is very clever, but I solved it by accident instead of lateral thinking. Perhaps people more observant than me would have figured out that the left handed brother would hold the sword with the other hand when posing, or even that exchanging the hammer would cause them to switch being models.

Not much of a life, I'd argue.

[...]I'm not gonna make a game and put in puzzles where you have to save a bunch of starving villagers by buying them some Macdonalds if Maccas pays me to do so. I might put that puzzle in ANYWAY but if I do, it's only because I believe the game will be better for it, or because I personally like that food and want to endorse it out of sheer appreciation for the product. Sure, the game doesn't cost me millions of dollars to make, good point.

What if you did plan to make such a puzzle in your game, but instead of using a non-descript burger restaurant or one called "WacRonald's" you contaced MacDonald's, Burger King etc. to hear if any of them were interested in paying to have their brand in your game? I have no problems with that kind of advertisement (Ignoring any qualms I may have about the brand being advertised.) The Jello example in MYSTIC RIVER that Even mentioned seems to fall within this category. I haven't seen it myself yet though.

The advert for that shoe brand in I, ROBOT (which I haven't seen either) however, sounds like they rang up various companies asking if they'd like a brand to be in their big budget summer movie, then afterwards tried their best to cram it somewhere in the movie. This kind of product placement I'm less happy with.

Thankfully it seems that the latter kind of product placement (the brain less one) happens in movies I never expected anything else from anyway.

So what's the harm if product placement is done tastefully? And do you really care what Will Smith blatantly advertises in his movies?

For those too lazy to find the thread on their own:

If that is anything to judge by I really hope AGSers have the good judgement not to create a similar one over here.

Anything but "II, Robot".

If it matters, I vote we disable smilies all together. Failing that I'm in favor of replacing the ones Gilbert made with something with a little more contrast. Dark brown, dark red and black doesn't fit together well.

Dr. Oc was good. Too bad he only was evil in the movie for 5 minutes total or so.
