That's ace. Too bad I'm not an aussie, SBS sounds like a great channel from what las's told me.

Nestlé you mean?

Remixor mentioned all the points I would give CJ so read his post twice and I'll save some typing.

I also prefer the old green dots of Darth's design and I preferred the two panel layout of his old designs if we've come so far as to discuss minor design issues already.

Oh yeah, and you mentioned you wanted a design that's simple to implement. That's another point for Darth's design over Klaus' which I believe would require various design variants on the various subsections like the games page etc.

I'm not sure I can possibly follow up a criticism of such a remarkable insight and quality as the one Largo has graciously bestowed upon us all.

It is better, yes. You could try "Damn Lucasarts' cancellation" instead, and I would suggest a smaller font size. At least it doesn't contain the word "butt" and "screw" now and for that I am grateful.

Don't worry, they plan to release it in 1994.

I agree with remo. Also I personally feel iframes detract from the browsing experience, in lack of a better term. All pages with iframes have their own interface. Instead of a single scrollbar to scroll up and down, and possibly one to scroll left and right in rare circumstances you've got one or more scrollbars which completely break the methods I use to browse webpages. I can't use pageup/pagedown, up/down or the scrollwheel on my mouse and see all the content on the site. The only sites I don't mind seeing iframes are sites with little or no content.

I change my vote to Darth's last design if he agrees to ditch the cliché grid. The banner seems a bit too thin now as well.

Take a camcorder, "Gilbert vs Gilbert".

Darth A or Loominous.

Definitely loominus's entry. Good job.

QuoteI, LGM, have found a Freeware alternative to IRC that offers the same functionality and more.

telnet://irc.quakenet.org:6668.

My IRC client of choice. You get disconnected every once in a while if you don't type in your ping replies fast enough but it's quite versatile.

600*50 is just about perfect. The foy sig would fit in those restrictions just fine and Erwin would have to make his just a bit smaller.

Edit: Justice league.

The background looks amazing, I can't really comment too much on the artistic quality of it without just being annoyingly picky.

However, I'm not really sure if it fits as the background of an adventure game. It simply feels like there's too much open space at the bottom. Makes me think all the hotspots in the room are down there while all the stuff near the window, including the door, is just unimportant background.

I love loominus's second entry, but I'll wait untill he posts his modified version before I vote.

It could really benefit from the bluecup somewhere though, perhaps in the banner if you ditch the games there. They're not really needed anyway since good ags games are showcased in the bar to the right.

AGS Games in Production / Re:AGS MiniGolf

My post disappeared due to the forum mishaps so I'll write a shortened version.

Here's a 6da course. I don't want to detail it untill a uniform look for the courses is decided on. I vote against Darth's perspective because despite how good it looks, it's impractical for detailed courses.

I tried to make my course as close to the 6da universe as possible, hence the chalk outline of a dead body and also a guitar case (with golf clubs instead of a rifle) would be placed next to the course somewhere (and I would draw a ground not let the course float in space).

Also I tried to somehow incorparate the puzzles and situations from the game into the course. The red squares that pop up are supposed to resemble the shades you must close in the game, hence you can only pass it with your ball when they're "closed".

The planks you must pass through is the wall you must break open to find the camera, I'm not too pleased with this analogy but it's good enough for a golf course.

The 5 holes at the end before the final hole represents the windows in the game, only onfe of which houses the assassin, or in this case leads onto the final section. Choose wrong and you end up in the water (you're dead) via the currently very ugly tube and must restart.

The light source is in the upper right which should let you figure out which way the slopes go. You might want to omit the first slope down (the brightly coloured one) before the shades.

Currently it's a bit hard to see which parts of the course are higher than the other, hopefully this will be more apparant when the ground is drawn.

Edit: Oh, the white ball is not part of the course, it's to show where the start is. And the chalk outline of the body was drawn in a couple of seconds only so don't hold it against me.

Edit: I drew the course so it would look it's best when stretched vertically in 320*200. Using 320*240 instead would make the courses much easier to draw if you're as anal retentive as I am.

You should combine SS&D with AdAware for best effect: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

And don't use Internet Explorer, failing that at least install a popup remover of some kind. Just make sure it's not dodgy.
