General Discussion / Re:Art of QBasic

Sounds like it would be simpler to program a simple graphics program from scratch which saves the actions done to create the images as QBasic commands. I bet a good few exist out there already.

General Discussion / Re:Bush Dilemma

I still wonder what you think Bush is doing to "mop [that] mess up". I'll show good fate and attribute it to a poor choice of words.

Critics' Lounge / Re:Comic

I have no further comments to add to the comic besides what DM, Erwin and ScummBuddy pointed out, I'm just curious as to what kind of magazine you're doing this for. Is it a monthly comic magazine, what other comics are in it and is the readership big?

Andail, I thought Spyros took it down because the original author himself contacted him and said that he was still selling the original. If I remember the letter correctly he said he'd approve otherwise. Now that Spyros and Spyros Jr. are among us again he can probably clarify the matter if I'm mistaken.

The trailer does credit Danny Elfman for the music if that helps. I don't really mind, plus it suited the trailer.

I third that, steer clear of coordless mice. Coordless keyboards aren't too bad however, shame they only sell them together with coordless mice which makes them too expensive for my budget.

I've got a coorded optical Microsoft Intellimouse (Version 3 I belive, not sure how they write it) and am very satisfied.

And that game seems to be affiliated with someone called "Jones" if you glance in the bottom left corner. Intriguing.

General Discussion / Re:Don't Copy that Floppy

Seems noone has pointed out that he's not really copying a floppy this time around.

Woo, pedantry.

Perhaps all the UK resident people on the forums should start a thread every time a Chris Jones obituary is in the papers.

The source isn't available so AGS won't be updated any more and this site will be gone since he owns it. Why speculate?

I haven't updated my site in over 2 years, maybe it's time to do something about that now.

Nah.

We all know Tom Selleck is the best Indy and Danny DeVito the best Sallah.

Edit: I can't read.

You mean his ":O" comment? Yeah, that was uncalled for.

I remember when I was little and saw a boob for the first time. I was about a minute old I think.

As far as I know foreign English teachers in Japan are expected to talk nothing but English when they're at the school, even in the teachers' lounge. At least the ones from programs like JET. Some schools may be more lax than others of course.

Bonus question: Non-US AGSers, what's the video/band-promotion scene like where you are?

Exactly like in the US I expect, with the odd local band whose videos try to imitate US ones except with less than one tenth of the budget.

I'd rather have a different actor play Indy than a spin off taking place during the Cold War. River Phoenix could've pulled it off, and did in LEC.

Then again, the Young Indy series was atrocious, but that may have been more due to the shoddy writing and the famous historical figure of the week trite rather than the lack of Harrison.
