Hmmm, I can't seem to get out of hideout after having spoken to Jeannie. The stairs are there but I can't seem to use them.

Spoiler
Click left on the stairs during some seconds to make the interaction panel open, and choose "use".

Thanks Marion, it was so obvious that I didn't think about it   :)  I think I'm far too accustomed to the usual point & click.

Something strange has happened in the game. I've walk around for a bit, entered an alley where I got hit on the head....ever since that a weird guy's on my trail and I can't shake him. Then I found and entered the bar, spoke to the girl and exchanged goods with her - then as I was to leave I discovered I was rooted to the spot, can't move in any direction and that annoying guy is moving back and forth all the time.

Am I missing something?

EDIT: I finally got out of the bar but this guy that keeps following my character is imparing the movements and it's really hard going anywhere. Am I suppose to loose him somehow; then how?

Really creative ideas, guys.....only there are a few snags with them.
Firstly, I'm unempoyed at the moment (no money). Secondly, I'm in Sweden and buying them here means I have to use the Swedish equivalent to eBay and they're really shitty to people (I had a dealing with them a while ago about problems signing up with my integrity intact, got really snotty replies back). Thirdly, I'm not sure I could get the games in English, which I would prefer.

Oh well, at least I have Carnival of the damned to amuse me :)

KhrisMUC, very strange about MI 1 & 2, I found them as abandonware. I wonder how old a game have to be before it's considered old enough to be freeware (1989 is a loooong time ago).

I have searched the internet for parts 3 & 4 for download but no luck so far.

Hi all,

I've missed your messages because I've been busy with MI 1 and 2, and both worked fine in Windows without any other tools to make it work, it ran just fine.

Now I wish I could get 3 and 4 but I've read in the internet that neither of those two are abandoned yet, guess I'll have to wait for them to get "older".

I haven't played Carnival of the damned yet but maybe I can if it's not realated to the original story, i.e. I won't miss any game info from 3 and 4.

Btw, I am a "she".

You can play most of the Lucas Arts classics on Windows (and several other platforms) using ScummVM.

Thanks for the information. I found one the fist MI (secret of MI) and I clicked on the .exe file and it avtually started....I've read on the internet that this is a good classic game with many high votes and so far it looks good, the only thing I miss from more modern games is the cycle you use for look, talk, use et.c, and that I can't speed the dialogue with a simple click.....anyway, now I'm off for some fun.

I found out about saving a game the hard way, having played for hours I couldn't find the save button so I lost everthing, *sigh*. Having read a blog on the internet I found out that F5 both saves, loads and quits the game.

Dualnames, are the two games you mentioned DOS versions? I'm not familiar with DOS and how to use it. Any chance there's a PC version?
#29
Thanks Dualnames, the File Front page looks completely different now - I can actually see your file.

Oh, I meant to ask....is it neccessary to play the other MI games before this one?
I looked around the internet and saw a site that sold some older versions. Or are there other MI games that has nothing to do with yours?

Please help,

I can't find the game at Filefront, which the link leads to...when I get to the site I can't see the game MI: Carnival of the damned.

Apart from animated movements, plot and such mentioned above I like Ben Jordan because there are hints within the game that'll move you forward. Ths Ben Jordan cases can be played without a walkthrough, maybe a hint or two in this forum.
Other games I've played leaves me mystified at times and I find myself going in circles and trying everything in the inventory without much thought, just because I'm soooo frustrated. With Ben Jordan I don't end up frustrated, I just play and enjoy - which I hope is the authors intention.

Well done!

I'm going to kick myself, but I can't get anything at all done in the airport: no-one wants to talk to me and I can only find 3 rooms to walk around in.

Have you tried walking outside?

how do I get the monster with the trident? I've tried having it ready after having Alica distract it, but it's hard to get the monster, it's fast and I can't seem to get the trident out before it grabs me.

Xander, thanks a lot for your helpful information. Again a clue that was staring me in the face - it was the same for a while with a certain object in Ace's room.

I've finally finished the game. Thanks for all the help and hints!
