Happy Atheist Kid Gift Giving Day!

I agree with Pudding. Majority of the time, most of the threads here are pointless.

Maybe a weekly AGS review would suit more. At the end of the week (ie: Friday), we could post a review of what has happened on the forums and with AGS. Sort of like a mini newspaper, but for AGS current events. :/

Yes, it looks much much better now.

With the the newly added lighting, the hair is beginning to grow on me (no pun intended).

But, as Erwin has said, the hair line does end too abrubtly, almost as if it's glued on. Maybe some shorter hairs may help fade the ends a bit.

Rather then waiting until the moddel is finished, I would try adding some texture. It may be more finished then you think.

ISO games usually have their characters in a different walk set. Rather then Up, Down, Left, Right isometric games use Down Right, Down Left, Up Right, Up Left. Your character is more of an RPG style.

Also, ISO games arn't set at 45 degrees. They look more like this cool little animation I found.

Davy has a crude sence of style, thats all. :)

Though the way I see it, you haven't done much to the image. I understand editing is a learning tool, but by making your own images you develop your own sence of style and creativity. Anyone can take a background and change it, its much harder to make your own from scratch, but the effort is worth it. You never know. One day maybe somebody will learn by editing your image.

Yes, I hate to tell you but I prefer the bald version better also.

I'm not sure about the eyebrows. I understand they are supposed to be like that, just seems a little awkward.

The nostral balls are sharp. Like where the nostrals meet the face, it's not round.

I'd also shorten the mouth up a little bit, make the lips slightly bigger, and add in mouth dimples. Mouths have little holes on the ends when closed, and also have a little bit of a crease. You've got a bit of one on his right side. Exagerating this feature may make his mouth look 'older'.

General Discussion / Re: what is a good gui?
Thu 23/12/2004 03:41:38
Personally, I like the verb-coin. If you do it right, it doesn't pull the player from the game as much as a boxed GUI does. When I play games with a verb-coin I feel more like that character and get into the game more. Another thing about a verb coin is that you can be really creative with it. I remeber one member made his GUI come of from the side in the style of a wrist watch on an arm. From there you could can save, exit, or go though your inventory. GUI's arn't just a feature of the game, they are a key role as the player will be using them quite often. Creativity is key, but so is simplicity.

I still use MS Pain all the time. When I do pixel work the majority of my work is done in paint. But, for other things, like site graphics and pictures, I like to use Photoshop 6.

The reason people don't like Paint is because it is so limited and there are better programs out there for pixeling like Dpaint and such. And when it comes to pallets and anti-aliasing, PS comes in handy.

Just a matter of prefrence I suppose.

You can't block specific sites in IE, only sites' cookies and pages that may contain inappropriate material. I thought that maybe you might be able to do that too, but I searched for 45 minutes and couldn't find anything except blocking or permitting cookies.

In Norton internet security:

1. Status & Settings
2. Parental Control
3. Turn On
4. Configure
5. Sites
6. Add
7. Type in the address and hit ok

Now if you don't wish to block categories (nudity, violence, drugs, etc.) then uncheck the boxes in the block categories section.

That should do it. However after a boot, there is an uncloseable box that shows the loading status of the Parental Control. Nothing harmful, just bothersome for several minutes.

Block the site. Easy enough?

I used to be a virus. Well, not so much a virus, more like a computer hog. My parents finially came to their sences and bought me my own computer and in return I often have to fix computer problems my parents have. If you're like me (and nearly everyone else here), you've got other computers lying around. Fix one of those up and give it to her. She can play all she wants and if she breaks it then it's her own problem.

Holly, as much as I'd like to help, I can't. Though it seems you've figured a lot out yourself.

Please don't start tons of topics on the same game. Reply to the same thread.

I was wondering when these would come back. This one should turn out great. The concept itself is awesome, I love it.
