The Rumpus Room / Re:Sam and Max Cancelled!
Wed 03/03/2004 21:48:48
The only people that would have bought Sam and Max would have been Adventure Game activists, and those of us are here and make our own games. They figure they can cancel it, wait til we make it, and then sue us for copyright infringement.

Yes, yes. Much better.

The globe is waaay to bright. Maybe that will change the look of it. All around it looks good.
#1787
It looks good but you need a higher contrast. Heh, looks like Willie Nelson.

Whoa, pants look like crap, but you know what I was going for.
#1788
Heh, I was just a little confused. But along with Migs, I think it either way it sounds fun.

"Basically, it will be much like the MAGS comptetition. Except, instead of making a game in AGS, you'll be writing a short story"

I thought it was in reference to game plots. Like what it would be if it was a game cutscene or movie. We are here to make games you know, but I'm not going to discourage personal writing.

I'm in. Just be sure to bitch at me on instant messanger about it because I will most likely forget. Its a good idea, maybe have subtexts (Ie: breifs for game play or puzles in the side margnes). Maybe it would help to get more of a visual of gameplay, or maybe write it more like a movie script?

General Discussion / Re:Let's get lucid
Sun 29/02/2004 18:42:08
I had my first OBE when I was five. It was werid. I had gotten up and went downstairs. I made notice of what my mother and father were doing. But they wouldnt talk to me. I woke up. I found it odd, but I was hungry so I went downstairs. Parents were doing the same thing as in the dream, same spots, same clothes, same look outside, everything. I didnt know what it was until a few years ago.

As for my last lucid dream, well it was only semi-lucid. Meaning I know I am in a dream but I cant control it. That was a few weeks ago. Normal thing for me. Last time I had full control was last year, about march. Pretty average stuff, jumping high, backflips, the normal stuff I do.

Anyway, the easiest way I have found is what they say most everywhere, a dream journal. Once you wake up from a dream, write down everything you can to the max detail, drawing pictures helps a bunch. Once I started doing this I sort of have flashbacks, like I just had to pause because I had one. It stops your thinking. The one I just had was as vivid as the dream, but only seeing half a second. This helps to acheving lucid dreams, and they also make good stories for little kids I find.

Dreams are feelings, emotions, and thoughts that build up, and come into view as an image. Even if you cant lucid dream, but can remember your dreams and what happens, its still great. My dreams have taught me a lot. Well I'm done.

I really like Darth's most recent one. However, I think we are getting to serious. It should be silly and weird (but not too weird). DarkArcangel I think has a good example of what I mean. It should be high-tech and wild, because thats what AGS is. Its high-tech man! Jesus Christ, if we put this thing on the market, it would make more money then Gigli. Its an amazing program. The members are crazy. Anybody that is here, even if it is only once a week, knows that "DG is a crazy bastard" is a true statement. Hell, look at his entry! I just think you all are getting to serious! So fex your 3xampl35 becux tehy are teh s0x0rs1~!2

"It's not Games that make people psychotic, and it's not the fault of gun laws or the state of the world."

I disagree, two days ago I played GTA3 til 5 in the morning and later that day I told my mom to drive over the jogger in front of us. I was so into the game before I forgot where I was.

My guess is to have a longer time period to make a choice.

General Discussion / Re:Insomnia ...
Sun 15/02/2004 21:28:51
I suffer from insomnia every so often. I actually enjoy it. It keeps me thinking and then I can do things I wouldnt normally do. I had it a lot right after school started, but I ran. In a week I went from a 10 minute mile to a 7. I drew like crazy, spitting out 3 feet square pictures in a matter of hours. Even though insomnia is a "bad thing", it actully makes me feel better about myself. After I start feeling better and the insomnia seems to go away.
