Yeah, Terran! I know LGM always has an idea about what's to come, but I know we both read them.

They're also fun to read in the future, to see what movies were hyped up and sucked. Or better yet, never made it to the theatre.

Looks really good. I almost thought it was 3D.

By any chance, is this based of one of Andail's tutorials? It reminds me of something I believe Andail did a while back.

Jens hit it on the head. The perspective is a little wonky too, so that's not helping much.

But hey, you got to take an up close picture of a boobie. Awesome.

For such a "long legged" stride, I might put his knees up higher. Sort of looks like he's wearing bell-bottomed pants.

Quote from: Nikolas on Thu 25/10/2007 07:04:51Because once again the latest Britney mp3 IS not a necessity. Want toxic? Get it for almost free now. Nobosy else wants it! It will be dead free. Same with Harry Potter books.

What is SO urgent that you need to get it for free, bypassing the living of 100s of people involved in that creation of that CD?

I really hate to get into debates like this. And Nikolas, I do agree with you on the CD costs.

However, if CDs and music become practically free after a few months, why not download it for free now? It'll be free in a few months anyway, and at least now it's hip. In a few months, people might mock the fact that I haven't listened to a CD yet. Price tag of free won't make up for that either.

But really, if the record companies stopped worrying about money and made some good music every so often, we wouldn't have this problem.

Frankly, I'd like a dirtier version.

Awesome work Kinoko.

Well, um, it's sort of hard to critic. What are you looking for help on? I mean, it's cartoony and it looks okay. Mind posting the reference, I guess?

General Discussion / Re: Having a website.
Sun 21/10/2007 09:05:36
I just jumped in the same boat you did. I bought some web space and a domain recently just because I wanted to have my own website. Not that I have a lot to it yet, but it doesn't matter. Unless you have a service you need to provide, there's no rush to get a full website going right away. Build it up slow.

I've tried to do it before. I reached about 10,000ish, maybe more. I know Phil Reed does it every year, but he's in the middle of a few projects already, so he might not. I thought about doing it again this year, but classes keep me busy.

Maybe there should be a AGS Novel thing to keep people motivated.

Yeah, I was just going to say he looks like Claude from GTA. Other than facial detail and some stray pixels and such, it's very smooth. Did you work from video?

It's not bad at all. It's really good. Feels real natural. The feet are on the same plane, and it might look better if the far foot sat up a bit higher. Head sits a bit far back too.

I haven't played Portal yet, I'm still tackling Episode 2. But let me tell you, equally as good as the first. As long as there's no dark head-crab town thing like in the first one, I'll be happy.

I've never met the guy, but I think this looks more like the image.

A few things. The hair height is different, and the beard doesn't follow up on the left. I didn't do a great job on the lips, but the side view looks weird.

It's very well done, but it'd be nice to know more about it and what it's planned to be used for. For a semi-comic style, it's great. Not so great for a realistic style. Also, there's no apparent light source. Sunny day? Moss looks a bit too leafy.

Really neat style. Spanish guitar with almost a Jamaican groove to it. I liked it. There doesn't seem to be an apparent melody. There's the building scale at the beginning of a "section" that feels like a melody, but it's not set in stone. There should be a base before some of these exploration solos, if you will. I loved the atmosphere this song gives. You should re-record it (If you can remember all of that! There's a lot to remember!) with two tracks, a rhythm guitar and a solo for some of those changes. Not that it sounds bad, but there's so much that could be improved by not letting the rhythm part slip up. It will make the solo sound more, uh, thought out? It'd be less like you were making it up on the spot from a scale.

It's definitely your style. Not really a functional "room" but the style and speed would work well. It's a little hazey, so I did what would have been a 5 minute photoshop if I could get this damn tablet working.

Anyhoo, I layered on a high pass and erased out some spots around the house and stuff, to give it not only some sharper lines, but some distance. Then I added a vignette and erased out some bright spots on the tree and hill and the background. I left some on the mountains to give the sky some more depth. Then I dropped the saturation a bit. It's still bright, but I liked the grayish quality the sky had and thought it should follow through. Mine's not great, but hopefully you get the idea.

I mean, like Sean said, it could always be fixed later. There's plenty of room for improvement, but it's great the way it is.

Also, what's the deal with you and an "Oz"-esque castles in the background? Seriously, they're in every one of your backgrounds. :)

I'm still confused. Can someone summarize the game play briefly for me? It sounds like something that I'd enjoy playing.

It's pretty good. The tone of the guitar is sort of, I dunno, typical. It sort of makes all of the songs sound the same. I'm sure with some vocals it'll be awesome. :)

And the album is AWESOME.

It doesn't hold a candle to "Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?".  That album rocks my face.

We're gonna steal music anyway, why not make it easier?

General Discussion / Re: Price on my guitar
Mon 01/10/2007 18:06:51
But vintage guitars are a quality item. The only ones that have any real resale value are the highest quality of the era. Even now, if you bought a Mexi-Strat, it wouldn't be worth much more in the future. A little, but not much. But, if you bought one of the high end $3000 guitars, it'd be worth a lot more. It's all sentimental value. A couple hundred bucks isn't worth selling if you're loosing those memories.
