Critics' Lounge / Re: Sierra style background

The depth and composition look good. Sorta Sierra. Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz.

The image could use some contrast, some more darks. The roots of the tree are a weird shape and aren't really shaded/shadowed. The rock on the right is shaded alright, but it looks like the wrong light source. I imagine the light is coming from the center of the image, by the mountains.

In my opinion (and I have a lot when it comes to music), it's very hard to critic lyrics, ESPECIALLY when they're telling you a story in full. Rhythms, rhymes, syllables, they all have to be heard over music to make sense. Also, the idea isn't that original, but if there is a lot going on music wise, it could be good.

The limbs from the fallen tree should be longer. It's not just a proportions issue, but the branches sitting right at the "top" of the path makes it stand out more, in a bad way.

Dead give away (aside from being obvious anyway) is the green tint to the water and the washed out sky and mountains.

Although Baseball is my nation's favorite past-time, I find it boring.

Softball is basically the same as Baseball, but the ball is bigger and the pitch is underhand, rather than over. Softball is typically played by girls, but I know a few girls that play and their "wind mill" pitches could crack skulls.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Picture of a character.

I love this character. The walking animation looks like he has a limp, but I think it makes it more unique. The "ooo" frame on the talking animation is too far left. Great character. Has he got a name?

Probably the same value as Pokemon cards. Of no worth to anyone but a serious collector, and then, only a slim few cards have any value to them.

I still have all of my StarWars cards. Fun to keep and look at every so often.

General Discussion / Re: MP3 Quality?

IMO, there is no difference. If you can mix and tone everything right, the only difference between the two is size. I think you should worry about getting it sounding right first, regardless of it's file quality.

I'm all about cute Asian girls that have both sets of genitals. It's not homosexual of me. It only means they know how to treat a penis. :D

I feel that andrew@aedmark.com is much more respectable than a gmail account. Plus, who puts a period in their email? DUMB! ;)

Ahh... But nothing beats having your own serverspace and self-defined e-mail accounts. I will never, ever return to casual free e-mail system.

No ads, no spam, no long-loading startscreens, no worries.

As nice as everyone claims gmail is, it is true that nothing beats your own server space. On an application, your own website email looks so much better than a gmail or yahoo mail.

It's quite boring unless you add the light beams and the lamps. I added some light beams from wholes in the ceiling or something.

Also, not sure how the meteor thing works with the pool, but I put some dirt around it to make it look embedded. Changed some of the colors to make them less saturated.

Shoulders are too short and her hair line, is too high for the shape of her head.

Also, Into The Woods was bad. :D

Critics' Lounge / Re: Inked Art: Marker advice
Tue 24/04/2007 02:52:59
I've seen some nice things from people that use markers, because typically they don't know how to use Photoshop. I'd suggest using a heavy weight paper, like a watercolor paper, where the colors don't bleed. Quality of the marker helps too. The best thing is to just not overlap, just like inking. Be confident and controlled.

Well, I'd suggest running a virus scan and then closing some programs that suck up RAM, media programs and instant messaging, then try playing again with the view distance about half.  I used to have the same problem, it wasn't that the game ran slow, but the models didn't load fast enough.

Quote"They were actually instructed by the butcher to shoot them and salvage what meat they could and take it back to him," Boyes said.

"We're still trying to determine the identity of the butcher."

That's what I find most odd. Why would they salvage the cow and not the butcher?

That and the sawed off shotgun. To kill a cow?

Fruits around here come in so many different sizes and shapes, I have NO idea. But, in a taste test, I could tell easily.

Quote from: Andail on Thu 19/04/2007 16:58:47I've done a lot of teaching in high-school, and kids there are just so immature I sometimes lose faith in humanity and cry within.

I've never felt comfortable in my own age group. I always found conversation with most people my own age to be quite shallow, and I never enjoyed hanging out with people my age because they had very much more immature ways of entertaining themselves...

I wouldn't date someone younger than me, but there are girls that I find very attracive and are, ironicly, younger. I think if a girl at a young age can show maturity and an intrest in more "adult" things, they are more attractive than someone of my age with the same views.

I'm dating a girl a year older than I am. I'm a senior in high school and she's a freshman in college. I find that more odd than a senior dating a freshman in high school.

Then again, I have an addiction to women. :D

I don't really have anything to add to the "argument" over guns, but I do find it very interesting how non-Americans feel about out gun control. Interesting debate.
