I guess it depends on the context of the word and how it's sung. I have CD's where the say "fucking" in every line of the chorus and I didn't even realize it until I started singing the words in front of my family. The word was used as an adjective not a verb or noun. Though, I have other CD's where the whole CD is clean and great for a family, but someone shouts "fuck" in the middle of the CD.  And definatly if you're singing about how someone is going to have sex, then the term "fuck" isn't the best to use.

Also, in reguards to recieving a CD with language on it, choose your sample by how you think they would like the music. If it's metal or screamo, don't give it to an unsuspecting person like a granny.

If you still feel the need to put the sticker on, put it on the back side of the case.

The "style" isn't really anything special. Your light source is odd, and your shadows don't match. Gradients are generally a No-No, but if you're going for a 3D look without modeling anything then I guess it's ok. This background works for demoing AGS and learning about it, but it's not something that really stands out among other games. Perpesctive is good for hand drawing in PSP.

It's highly sharpened, with some crazy filters on it, I think.

Any other outstanding ideas before I start? I don't want a better idea to pop up when I'm finishing.

Overall a lot of the mods have slowly been disappearing. I haven't heard from C.Lex. in a long time. I thought by now he would have gotten internet. Or maybe he died in a mission.

Though some of them pop back randomly. Dark Stalkey was gone there for a while.

Critics' Lounge / Tracing/Masking Help

Yes, yes, I know the rules and I know that I shouldn't post things like this here, but I really need help. LGM and I have managed to get ourselves into a huge project. I can't give you any details because it's a secret, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with AGS and we're calling it "Project UFOVSKGB".

Currently in this project, I need to trace out this wheat and make the background color (the grey), transparent. It has proven to be a very hard task because the grey area around the wheat I can't seem to make transparent. Most tutorials tell me to just cut out the grey and make it a multiply layer, but that doesn't work at all in this situation. I'm not one for masking, and haven't worked with it much, but that seems to be the only way.

Here is a bigger version to work with.

Comments? Ideas? Tips?

Carl Orff - Carmina Burana

I've never played nor see it, so that's just a flat out guess. I bet I'm right though.

Edit:Ã,  Midi Link

Edit AGAIN: That portion I'm thinking is called "O Fortuna", as the whole thing is an opera of some sort. So maybe google that too, I dunno.

Mine and then yours:

Didn't realize the shading was a pattern until now. Lengthend the legs, moved the head, changed the feet and some shading. The arm on the hip is way long too, so I shortend that up.

Khris's edit is good, but another shade along the largest grey spot would help. Some panels would help make it look more domey too.

Well, first, you should have the place you are playing and then the city (ie: CBGB's, New York City). The year should be listed at the top (2006 Tour), and if there's a date in 2007, then add it to the end of that single event. The spacing of the text seems a little wide to me. The bottom quote should have less space between the lines.

As for the printing, white tends to bleed more then other colors. Your character should have thicker lines because he will probably end up looking a tad blurry.

Also, I'm not too sure about the checkmarks. Maybe, "Mighty Midgets infected:".

Very nice. There were quite a few sequences that were excelent. The opening cascade, the match dropping, the gears and the final sequence were all done very well. There were a few spots that could have utilized some better camera angles, but overall it was very good.

Ah! No StarGate?

I'm also all for making this a fouthnight competition. I think it'll pull people out of the woodwork.

Brian Wilson
John Fogerty
Stevie Nicks
Burt Bacharach
Michael Jackson (?)

Though, I think artists with more songs makes it difficult as well as easier. The more songs they have, the less likely we are to know some of them. But, the more songs, the less likely we are to do the same song.

Maybe an "Artist's Birthday" contest. Tribute songs to an artist who's birthday is within the next two weeks?

This has already been done before and is somewhere in the Popular Threads forum. There's several around, so I won't give you any links.

No, Chrille, serious was in reference to Eggie. I thought yours was rather imaginative, actually. I started about 2 this morning and after a while got sick of editing the second half, so I just cut the rest off.

Well, I started working on this last night and didn't really finish, so all I have to show is just a clip. My ISP has had a tendency to remove things from my web space for no reason, so if you can't find the clip here, then you can go to www.myspace.com/harryday and listen to a lower quality version there. I may finish the whole thing, but I didn't know if anyone else was planning on a (serious) entry.

“Baby, Let Me Follow You Down” isn't a song written by Bob Dylan, but it's on his self-titled album.

Just realized this was due today. Anyone else planning on entering? Maybe we could extend it a few more days? Make it a Bob Dylan Month thing? :D

Edit: Well, technically it's the 24th here... so... yeah...
