Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Re: New Banner

What about a marqueeing banner? We could have a bunch of games and there'd only be one longer load time. Most people that make it this far will be patient with the load time. But then again maybe not if what Eric says is true. Didn't the banner, when highlighted, used to display the names of the games?

Most of the Hour Games were only one room with poorly drawn walk animations. A decent walk animation takes me at least two hours. They cranked them out in 10 minutes. And you can bet the stories were terrible. However, the IRC sprite jams were way better IMO.

First off, wait more then four minutes before you bump a topic. We're from all over the world and may not see your thread until a totally different time of day.

Secondly, Hour Games haven't been done in forever. MAGS are what have "replaced" them. You could make a MAGS game in a hour if you'd like.

It's not that I'm against Hour Games, but please conduct them on IRC.

Just a quick paintover. Not really sure about the colors, but you haven't really explained it. Added a cast shadow and a highlight on the right mound and adjusted some colors and values. All around it's looking good. You've obviously got the idea.

Yes. Many of our moderators only speak english. It'd be far too difficult to run several more sub-categories.

I like the first front view the best. I think the short head helps with that quirky character you're going for.  I don't think he'll come across mean if you word the dialogue correctly. He also has the best eyes IMO.

Though I really like the black neck shadow on the left character, and I think you should add that to them all. Looks like an undershirt or something.

Yes. But some (most/all?) have pressure sensitivity so that, when typing correctly, the weaker fingers don't have to use as much pressure on the keys.

The Das Keyboards are very awesome. I don't have one, nor do I plan on getting one because of my "erratic typing." But the pressure sensitivity on some of the Das Keyboards, seems like it would be nice for a person who is a traditional typist. Also, they come in solid matte black, which makes me hot in the pants.

It's still being planned. Here is the "planning thread" on how nominations will work. Usually they occur in the spring. March? No se, lo siento.

Quote from: esper on Thu 29/12/2005 06:07:53I think violin, as has been stated many times, is the most difficult instrument. I have one of these, as well, that I have been trying to learn to play, but the "guesswork" involved (exactly where to put your finger, exactly how to position the bow to hit the string you want, etc.) makes it very hard...

I beg to differ. I made a ukulele in woodshop that is completely fretless. Once you learn where the "frets" are, according to the length of the neck, it's fairly easy. I play guitar and bass, and I was able to pick the cello up very quickly. Fretless instruments really require you to be able to "hear" the music. I agree with the statement about the bows though. It can be difficult, but it's easy to pick up once you get, what's the word, into(?) the instrument.

Mills: I've searched the internet before, and all of the sites about bending are very difficult to understand. Care to share an example?
