Looks and sounds gorgeous: mysterious, dark and scary. I like how the dialogues slowly reveals tiny bits of her story. It's still unclear, but I get the idea, and I'm definitely intrigued. Played several times to check all the options.

Nasza rodzima mitologia rowniez na plus :)

Classic :D Though the latter option falls under my option c, I guess? And we forgot: roll over and stretch, roll over to the other side; repeat until human goes AWWWWWWWW ;)

I really like the subtle touches like this!

The possible options being:
a) sit and stare at the protagonist
b) ignore the protagonist and stare at something else
c) meow until it is fed/petted
d) rub against the protagonist's leg
e) mark its territory
f) suddenly start running all over the place frantically with no purpose whatsoever; then stop abruptly.

It's here! Throd! THROD!!!

On a side-note... Is the role of Kitteh taken? Because while I'm not a professional voice actor, I think I have the right voice ;)

Dark, yet intensely saturated graphics? Ominous kittens with an attitude? And best of all: puns! Shut up and CLAIM MY SOUL, OH MIGHTY OLD ONES!

The trailer got me from the get-go. Day of the Tentacle is why I make adventure games myself today -- and Monkey Island was in fact the prettiest thing of its time (and still rocks!). What you got there looks really awesome and sounds great, and you folks look like a fun bunch. All in all, a pretty damn solid trailer! I'll be sure to throw some doublons at you when the time comes :)

Maybe it's the other greenlighters furiously downvoting everything other than their own games, hoping to get a higher rank themselves. That'd be a mean thing to do, but I don't have much faith in humanity ;) And I hear they indeed do that on Kongregate all the time.

I also have a question: if your submission is supposed to be free once greenlit, is the fee still 100 bucks/euros (or whatever it was for commercial games)? I've been considering submitting something of mine, and I think I'd be willing to shell out the hundred for Gray.

I liked Elysium a lot. I enjoyed the ideas, even if the execution was a bit over the top in places (the cosmic bazooka). I love me some camp -- and I'm definitely a fan of stark visual contrasts. It definitely made me think of Metropolis, which made brilliant use of symbolism.
I also saw eXistenZ again last week. One of my favorite movies questioning the nature of reality, right up there with Dark City, The 13th Floor and Inception. Would love to see Strange Days, too.

I love all the various nods to sci-fi here -- starting with the first impression that immediately makes me think of Elysium, to that floating city in the distance to the right, with such classic twisty architecture (reminiscent of ice-cream cones) and buildings made of glass (I think).

Looks just gorgeous! Love the color balance in the first pic especially (and Ben with a sword!). And it's going to be interesting having a choice of characters. Curious to see how and to what extent that'll affect the story/gameplay.

It looks like Tardigrades will be my new go-to game when I'm depressed in January and need to see some sunshine and color :)

Suddenly I don't feel so bad about the endless hours spent playing both Hotline Miamis in the past weeks. By the looks of it I'm going to need all the skills I learned from them (laugh)

Mandle, if you're still interested in the topic, there's a new documentary about Polish game mags of the 90's, available with English subs on Steam. The nostalgia will most likely be lost on you as you won't know any of the interviewed people, but it's chock full of info about the game industry in our neck of the woods at the time.

(sorry for digging up an old thread, but I thought this'd be relevant to the discussion and more interesting in this context.)

Finished it! ;-D What a beautiful game it was. The artwork was just stellar: Ben has yet again outdone himself, creating a world that is visibly tarnished, and often scary -- and yet there is some beauty to it, with eerie, green glowing shards everywhere. And love, and friendship. People still hanging on, capable of loving and friendship. Loved the little bits of smalltalk with people. Loved how you guys went about themes of politics and religion, some really intriguing ideas and considerations there. The ending especially, and the choices given in it.
The whole thing reminded me of Cowboy Bebop in a way, also set a world of the future touched by a great catastrophe and yet mesmerizingly beautiful. And the music! That song in the credits was no less epic and beautiful than Call Me Call Me

Hm... What about Alice in Wonderland? Or The Wizard of Oz?

EDIT: Oh drat, where was my head? (roll)

Check out "The Arrival", though - a comic by Shaun Tan.

Yeah, got one notification (of a PM I'd picked up 12 hours ago or so), so it looks like it's working again.

I've noticed that I stopped receiving e-mail notifications for PM's, topic replies, etc. I haven't changed my notification settings or e-mail. Anyone else experiencing this?

The first one's absolutely gorgeous. I'm the last person in the world to advise on backgrounds, since that's my weakest skill -- but the second one might profit from a bit more light (with a yellowish hue) in the bottom right corner, and perhaps some orange light on the amanita?

No idea! I've already applied some simple tweaks, but others will take some thinking -- and writing, and coding. As for cutscenes... I keep coming up with ideas! They're simple (mostly) and shouldn't take long each, but putting together a dozen or two of them might take a WHILE!

NEWS UPDATE: March 2 2016:

An update is in the works, with a few suggested tweaks -- including a difficulty choice for certain puzzles (everyone who played the game will know which ones I'm talking about, hehehe). I'll also be adding some brand new cutscenes of failure. Here's Magenta's interlocutor in one of them:
