I always liked the Galaxy Rangers. It left a lasting impression on me that Thundercats just didn't.

Heretic! What's not to love? Swords! A convertible tank! Humanoid felines with pecs like watermelons and shoulders like coconuts. To me, Lion-O's was the new He-Man (with WAY better haircut, too). And Cheetarah! Check out that body! It shall be the last thing you'll see -- before she claws your eyes out for the blasphemy ;)

Hm... Galaxy Rangers were cool, too. I didn't remember the name - but I did think of them when I stumbled upon this thread. And when I look at it now, it kinda looks like Cowboy Bebop here and there (especially the warp speed sequences). Another space-opera thingy that comes to mind is SilverHawks.

It's basically ThunderCats in space. I think I liked it a little less than TC -- but they did have some wicked enemies, and the rock theme was cool, too.

GENERAL HINT: There doesn't have to be a dialog option. You can simply ask about anything in the room (that is clickable). All you do start a conversation and when you move the mouse away from the dialog options, you'll notice them fade a little.

Spoiler
Now just click the leaf.

The upper deck, where the armed guard is. See my previous post, three or four above, for more details if you have any problems.

2.
Spoiler
You should be able to just take it at some point. Can't remember exactly if you need to complete any task or just ask Igon about it - but while I couldn't just take it from the very beginning, I had no problems later on.

Who remembers the late 80's/early 90's cartoon "Bucky O'Hare"?

I LOVED it! :D The four-armed, one-eyed duck was the man! Uhh, I mean, duck.

Quote from: Darth MandarbJayce and the Wheeled Warriors!!!

I remember that one, too. Forgot what it was called. Thanks!

Here's one of my favorite classics!

The Visitor 2 should land some time today.

Ah, so you will prepare ground for Gray's one-man TOTAL INVASION APOCALYPSE next month ;) How very convenient indeed!

This weekend I'll probably still be busy planning the invasion -- and other mischief -- but expect a double review sometime next week :)

Spoiler
At some point, when you go to the upper deck (where the guard is), you'll notice the Captain and Pex are there, too, talking. I thought it happened after you've asked Igon about the Captain or Pex and Bingo, after interviewing everyone else available -- but it seems you can do it earlier on. Just go up the stairs near the info guy. So when you see them talking on the upper deck, you'll notice something.
Spoiler
A magazine lying on the ground. Wait for the Cap and Pex to go away to pick it up.

Yeah, it might seem like a weird place for that -- but it definitely shows how much we liked the puzzles in this one. They were crazy at times, but still logical in some way.

Some teamwork will be required.
Spoiler
Have Susie follow you and when you're in the room where the splinkler is, ask her to give you a boost -- and once she does, you know what to do, right?

Once you've talked to them all, you need to pick them out one by one.

The blue one is the easiest.
Spoiler
You just sweet talk him into following you somewhere more private (by using the heart icon in your inventory on him). When the two of you enter the room with the vending machine, you'll notice there's not much to interact with. Just the vending machine, resting in a very unstable position... Hmm... Someone could get REALLY hurt...
Spoiler
Click on the jack - and voila!

Now for the green one.
Spoiler
Take the clippers and the hammer from the toolbox on the counter (if I remember right). Now go into the bathroom. Oops! What do you do NOW?
Spoiler
Use viagra on him! Break the window with the hammer and climb out. Prop the stiff snake against the wall and climb up. Once there, cut the wires with the clippers and attach the DVD player (that you can get from the fat guy living by the station). Now, instead of the bathroom view, the blue one will see whatever DVD you put on. If you remember what you talked to him about, you'll know what movie (available in the store) to use.
Spoiler
If you don't remember - a hint: he's afraid of vampires.

CaptainD:

Yeah, I figured that much. It's not that I was totally oblivious as to how it works.

Spoiler
I also knew right away that the items I mentioned were a reference to the brothers' likes and dislikes. But when I first started singing, I didn't even click them, because I thought they'd be needed later -- and clicked the brothers and other people instead. But it's like with, say, the rhyming sword fights in Monkey Island (at least the 3rd one had them, can't remember the earlier ones) - you just have to try stuff a bunch of times.

On a side note - gotta love how much thought and creativity went into this!

That's a tricky one indeed. Had me stuck for a while, too, and I'm not quite sure how I made it through that one. A bit of knowledge, a bit of analyzing what each said, a bit of luck, I guess. But here's what little I figured out:

Spoiler

The basics (which I guess you've figured out:

Tahwid likes black and white movies. The black and white picture is a symbol of that. He dislikes alcohol - symbolized by the hacker's glass and the bottles on the counter.
Bahwid likes fish (the swordfish over the counter) and dislikes captivity (the chain on the jukebox).
Mahwid likes the sun (spotlights or the flashlight) and dislikes monsters (the octopus).

You need to click on the items liked/disliked by the one who's answering the question. There will be 4 questions and you have to get them all right. The questions repeat in different tries, but there's always a different set. Some that I managed to figure out:

T asking M about gods - lights
B - M: middle road - black and white picture
T - B: hell - chain
B - M: hell - octopus
B - M: one god - lights
T - B: inaction - fish
M - T: no gods at all - alcohol
B - T: non-being - alcohol
M - B: inaction - chain
T - M: reincarnation - octopus
T - M: non-being - flash
M - B: one god - fish
T - B: one god - chain
B - T: hell - aclohol
T - B: non-being - fish
T - B: inaction - fish
T - M: hell - octopus
T - M: rebirth - octopus
T - M: non-being - light
M - T: serving god - picture
B - M: no gods - light
T - B: serving god - chain
T - B: inaction - fish

Not sure if everything in that list is absolutely correct. Some were pretty logical, but some were wild guesses that just happened to work.

You need to
Spoiler
collect quite a few items and do quite a few things to get there. Firstly, you need coconuts (in the big crate on the lower deck where the coldroom, the prison cell and the German guy are) and duct tape (for the life of mine, I can't remember where that was... Igon, perhaps?). You'll need those two things to
Spoiler
give Barbara bigger boobs and... wear her. Use coconuts and the tape on Barbara, go in front of the brewery and use the costume on the door. Once there, go to the left and turn the valve, so that the leak changes direction. Now go talk to the German. He'll start following you. Run away towards the leak. If he stops following, call him again. The goal is to get him stuck between the two containers with his BACK, not his face, facing the screen. The leak is sticky will get him stuck there permanently. When that happens, grab his underpants amd go check out the funnels.
[close]
Now you are pretty close - but not quite there yet. You have to
Spoiler
go to the bar and soak the underpants in the puddle in the top left corner. Go to Igon and use them on Igon. He'll tell you what drink it is. Now, go to the brewery and find the funnel for the drink he named. Look at the pills in your pocket. One of them will get whoever takes it severely stoned. Throw it into the funnel. Go back to the bar -- and you'll see it's working. Go talk to the hacker

Oh, I was gonna answer that - but you beat me to it, Technocrat :)

Btw, I replayed the game just now -- and found a weird little bug:

Spoiler
I took some blood using the empty bottle BEFORE I found the invitation. Later on, when I was about to save the virgin by replacing the three items, I noticed the bottle was empty again -- and even though Nancy could take more blood, more than once, it kept appearing as empty in the inventory and Nancy wouldn't use it to replace the juice. Hm...

It's nothing big, it probably happened only because I did things in the wrong order this time -- and I finished the game without any problems the first time around.

Yeah, had to try a bunch of times, but eventually I figured that out.

Actually finished the game, just now :) I was about to ask for more help, like three times - but managed to figure it out on my own, somehow. Not an easy thing to do with a splitting headache ;) Not from the game itself. It was lots of fun! Definitely difficult -- but everything was logical, in some way or another. I'm just terrible at noticing things, a lot of times. Took me a while to notice the crate with coconuts ;) Also, if Joe says something not possible/not worth doing at the moment without giving a more detailed explanation why, I tend not to try it again -- and that got me stuck a few times. But the hardest part was the karaoke, took me a while to get everything right.

But in the end, that's what I love about adventure games and logic games. Takes more than just running and shooting to get things done. Definitely enjoyed the game :) It was funny, bitter, very surreal at times -- and featured some nice, complex gameplay mechanics, like talking about everything else in the room.

This game is just too smart! It needs a walkthrough. Which is a a less self-deprecating way of saying *I* need one :P Yup, you guessed it - stuck again, and not so far from where I got stuck the last time.
Spoiler
I'm in the freezer/coldroom/what-have-you, and currently fighting Pex with my cane. Exhaused all topics of conversation. Can't grab anything or hit it with a cane -- other than Pex himself, obviously.

Quote from: m0ds on Sat 18/08/2012 11:37:15Fitz - nice round up! Glad you're enjoying them :)

My pleasure! You know, I've been so busy with my little game/job/little side jobs, so focussed on becoming an accomplished 'professional' (for the lack of a better word), that I totally neglected my hobbies. Haven't played a single game, read a single book or comic, or even sat in my living room to listen to a new cd in... a year? Making it up to myself now. I missed the challenge: tapping into someone else's logic to solve a problem, getting to know a different world through going around, asking, listening and most of all, forming hypotheses and then seeing them work :) It's so different from making a game.

I'll *try* to play at least one game a week and post a review. The "To Play" list's been growing for a loooong time.

Oh, yeah, that seems logical.

And nope, but pretty close :) Went to sleep at around 3am :) I blame the washing machine apocalypse from earlier that evening for keeping me up, alert and in constant need of a challenge late into the night. Played Barely Floating, got stuck, posted about it, went on to play Nancy in the meantime, finished Nancy, went back to BF and played till I got stuck, then some more, and posted about it right before I went to sleep at 2:59.

Finished Nancy The Happy Entertainer last night! Another game with a morally skewed, yet extremely likeable character -- who, unlike Moira from PISS, is not in the least conflicted. It's so nice to see someone who actually LOVES their job :) Also, it's fun to play someone who makes mean FUN! :D In PISS, I tried to be nice to everyone for Moira's karma's sake. Here, I'd always chose the baddest, most mean-spirited thing to do or say - just for the laughs :) And laught I did - a LOT! The game makes fun of sex, violence, drug abuse, death, gender stereotypes, popular media and the occult in such wacky, unpretentious way that it's hard not to love it. There's a serious Sam'n'Max vibe to it - not just the humor or the graphics, but the puzzles, too. And as crazy as they were sometimes, they seemed intuitive and logical -- at least at 1 am -- and most of the time I knew right away what to do. Kudos for that :)

Now playing Barely Floating -- and again, having a great time controlling a not-so-pleasant character. The humor in this one seems different from the games I played previously, a lot more abstract and absurd most of the time. The info dude's eye-patch and the bartender's beard are my favorite examples of that. It's things that either go unnoticed or may seem a little quirky -- but when you ask about it = WTF? :) Snakes of Avalon comes to mind. It has the same surreal atmosphere, where no matter how crazy things happen, you just go with it.
