originally, i wasnt going to post anything about this game untill it was done, but i thought it might be healthy for the motivation to get some input :)

Yeah... you heard it.

Every punk cliché youve ever heard or experienced, all mashed into one humorous adventure game.

1983. after a small knife fight with a psychotic bum, you get kicked off a train, and you end up in the city of Mercy Hill. Here, the local punks take care of you, in spite of various conflicts of interrest. now, its up to you, to squat an empty house, recruit band members, steal gear and set up a gig.

the story in itself, is quite simple, but we have loads of none player characters, weird puzzles, (supposed to be) funny dialog, loads of fart-jokes and coarse language, a big city to explore and a very surprising ending to spice to whole shebang up a bit.

were very lazy, so the game is only about 15% done over all at this point, but we aim to be done late this fall...Ã,  Ã,

Hi!

A really simple question, but I feel like Ive tried everything, and I still cant make it work...

see, the thing is, in the intro for my game, theres an NPC giving the player character a tour of the town. I need for both of the characters to get to the next room at a specific point (the sidewalk), but I just cant make it work... ive tried walking the npc to a region that had player walks on to region / NewRoomEx, but then the game crashed... what am i supposed to do?

thanks in advance, I feel kind of stupid asking, hehe, but you know... I need to know!

cheers

the claws look a bit odd to me...

and whats up with the evil floating pentagram of evilness? i dont get it... :)

Anyway, much better than anything i could do in a 3D program (which is... nothing!)

keep it up. looking forward to see more from you.

Hi everyone! First of all, i have made this palette thnigy with 256 empty spaces... i thought some of you might need it to keep track of your colors, because i know i need to... previously, i had this image with about 50 circles of colors, and it was a mess, i just never got around to make this thing until now... so here you have it, feel free to use it.

secondly, ive never tried this .midi thing before, and i was just wondering if i could get a tip on where to download a good beginners program. this has probably been asked 2307.86246.04 times before, but i couldnt be arsed to run a search... sorry :)

take care and all that!

to start off with, maybe post a 300x zoom? :)
#27
no, thats my problem... hes in room 1 all the time, but i only want him to appear the second time you get to the room...
#28
no, theres no problems with the order of how the commands are executed... my problem is like this

in room A:

one character is sleeping on the floor

in room B (set in another room because the animation is an animated background)

closeup of a face saying: "HEY! YOU!"

back to room A:

the closeup guy wakes the sleeping guy up. action happens after this.

the problem is, that the wakeup guy is there the whole time, but i created a blank view and changed his view to that in the first part of the story in room A, and then i changed it back to his normal view for the second part. the problem is, that the program seems to be needing some time to change the view, so the character is visible in the first half second of the sequence... i bet theres a smarter way of getting around this, but hey.... what can i say, im more of a graphics kind of guy :)

thanks!

Hi!
In the intro for my game, theres a person sleeping in ROOM1, and then theres cut to another scene which is a closeup of the person whos waking him up which is moved to another room for graphic goodness purposes, and then back to ROOM1... The thing is, all these thing occur after some credits, and when the credits are over, theres cut to the scene mentioned before. my problem is, that the first split second youre watching, the character waking him up is showing, even though hes not supposed to be there before AFTER hes woken the player character up... is there a way to avoid this?

thanks

Hey everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post, so sorry if it isnt... :=

Anyway, a friend and me are making a game about punkers, squatters, coppers and last but not least zombies. we don't have much done yet, but were full of ideas and we are working hard to get there... theres were you come into the picture! we need some punk-rock midis! wooo! anyway, if you feel like helping out, drop me a line, and ill tell you about the game. would be greatly appreciated!

the game is going to be 320x200, 16 colors, fairly long (two chapters) and were trying to stay true to the punk enviroment of the 80ties...

regards!

looks good! i love the level of details on the chair.

as for the animation, perhaps some motion blur on the wheels?

Hey everyone!

This weeks topic: MYTHOLOGY

pick a scene from whatever myth you like best, wheter it be a greek one, a nordic one, australian or whatever. For example river styx or valhalla :)

320x200px
256 colors

happy blitzing!

hehe, thank you :)

its from terry gilliams Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, based on Hunter S. Thompsons book by the same name. If you havent seen it, you missed out; its fucking awesome!

*edit

#36
perhaps a tad too easy... anyway, its based off of memory, so details might vary from the actual movie ;)

this is no doubt some of the best BG art i have ever seen... holy fucking crap...

i cant realy say anything that hasnt already been said...

there are two things that bugs my eye, if only a teeny weenie little bit...

that grey shadow you talked about yourself, and the way some of the straws sway... looks sort of blocky...

but this is absolutely amazing. im in total awe...

please keep up the good work!

-patrick

oh, and i agree, a tutorial wouldnt be bad, hehe
#39
yes, ive tried that... but it only sets in after like... 20 seconds, and then it only plays once. i need for him to "bounce" all the time...
