The colour choice is good, though I'd have made the silouhettes even darker. Wouldn't the hills also reflect in the water as well?

It's a nice scene, just watch that you don't overuse the same custom brush too much, which is most apparent on the big tree.

Have you read the spell regarding transformation into a cat?

You have to do that first before you can actually pick up the cat.

And no, there's no other way to eliminate Manannan.

Quotei found a life snake now how do i get it's skin?

It'd probably be better if you found some dead skin. There should be some lying around there somewhere, you just have to look for it.

Quotewhen do we get to see this? It's been more than a week.

I believe it will be released with the patch and other changes once the patch is done.

Which should be soon.

QuoteIf one tints the figure the colour of the sky, wouldn't most things be blue?Ã,  If I have a figure that is wearing red (or some other warm colour), how would this work?

Well for daytime, the sun is slightly yellow, so things can basically appear their 'normal' colours. :)

If the predominant environment is blue however (for instance, closer to night time, or underwater), things would take on a bluish hue. For instance, red would become more purple (blue+red). At least, that's how I reason how it works. Basically need to consider the environment, light source, and from there colour is relative. Loominous' light is somewhat close to white, so the red still stands out, but in the more shadowed regions, things become more blue.

It's probably a matter of personal taste, but I do prefer background integration and interaction of light; it makes things more dynamic... (but I just happen have this thing about reflected light and colours).Ã,  Of course, it depends where you want to go with the piece - from a design point of view, MashPotato's is fine. But Loominous' post is still useful in learning about light and colour.

Btw, good design on the mermaid MashPotato! I like your stylisation of the figure a lot.

QuoteOh and the shovel is for treasure digging, which near as I can tell is a pixel hunt (after you've been told where the treasure is, of course).

I believe the treasure is still 5 paces east of the palm tree. At least, I found it without much trouble.

The funny part is that you can dig multiple times in the same spot and get a treasure chest each time ;)

QuoteWARNING! there is a CRITICAL bug when killing the dragon with storm brew.

in Global Script (line 1701)

That has already been noted, and hopefully they'll release a patch soon.

I noticed that if you used the storm brew on the dragon (not on yourself), it doesn't crash. But if you use it on yourself (to stir), it crashes though the effect should technically be the same.

I think it looks good.

Some things to consider:

- The Photoshop grass brush is rather obvious, especially as the grass is all going in one direction.
- There is grass growing out of the concrete, on the edges :P
- The black patches in the grass look burnt and out of place. (Don't use the burn tool... pick the colours instead)
- Given that this is nighttime, I would not expect green to be so saturated. Things tend to lose their saturation with less light, and when it's dark, it'd take on a more bluish tinge because of the sky.
- The path seems rather bright, and I'm not sure where the light source is from, so I'm also a bit confused as to the placement of shadows (eg, the tree trunks on the left are lit from the right, but the trees on the right of the background aren't casting shadows to the left)Ã,  Ã,
- It seems that you used photos for the trees, especially as they have more artefacts compared to the other parts of the background. Not that collaging is bad, but the textures are obviously from different places (eg, soft grass, whereas the leaves are very sharp and altogether a different 'style')Ã,

Hope this helps.

She looks a bit hunched over in the front view.Ã,  It's partly to do with her hands hanging down not doing anything, and the symmetric pose. It might be better if she leaned a little on one leg, as standing symmetrically is not a natural pose.

Also, her crotch should be higher still. (should be moved up such that the crotch is located at the middle of her height from head to toe). And I reckon her body is now rather on the narrow side give the size of her head (whereas before she was a bit too broad), but she could be malnourished :P.

But she's looking better than before.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Tracing/Masking Help

I'd probably change the grey background to brownish so that when it's cut out, the edges of the wheat look more wheat colour rather than grey. (using a combination of photofilter/replace colour/hue/sat)

Then I'd use the magic wand, set the tolerance to some suitable value so that most of the background is selected while most of the wheat is left then invert the selection. Then use the lasso tool (use feathering if you want the edges smoother) to select the areas of wheat that were missed by the wand tool.

(I changed the hue back after it was cutout)

That's how I would do it anyhow, though it might not be the best or most efficient way... and it's still messy as I didn't go over it enough with the lasso tool, but hopefully it helps.Ã,
