What about this?

I've made the elbows shift forward and back.

Thanx! I'll try to make him move his elbows but I don't know about the shading. I'm aiming for a more minimalistic style (The use of colours).

Critics' Lounge / WalkCycle C&C please

So I'm trying to make characters and BGin a diffrent style then I'm used to (More comic/less detail) and I came up with this character:
What do you think? Is the Style cool and what about the animation? I'd love some ideas on how to make it better!

Yes it's made in photoshop.  :=

The Rumpus Room / Re: How did you find AGS?
Fri 22/07/2005 01:13:38
I've always been a fan of Adventure games and I've always wanted to make one. So, a year ago (after spending my life before that on trying to find a good game engine) I ran in to AGS by a coincidense. My life haven't been the same since... Btw, I haven't made a complete game yet ;D

General Discussion / Re: Any metal fans here?
Fri 22/07/2005 00:51:38
I like metal (the term Heavy Metal was used by a journalist to discribe Jimi Hendrix in the late 60:s). By that I mean all the goodies from the end of 60:s, 70:s and 80:s.

But I like some newer stuff like Dream Theater, Pagan's Mind, Freak Kitchen etc.

I think all the diffrent metal genres and sub-genres is keeping (some) bands from being original and intressting. There too busy trying to fit a category ;)

I know this isn't the critics lounge, but there is something about the mushrooms that I just don't care for. Don't get me wrong, you have yourself a spectacular image here, but maybe I just want them to be in silhouette form, or maybe rounder, but all in all, you have yourself a fantastic background and you should be proud.

Well, I'm completley pleased with them either! They'd look better if it wasn't a night picture i think. But I was to tired to make them look better!

First, It's a very good tree for being your first!
If your using photoshop you could make it easy for your self and still make it look good. I did a little picture to demonstrate the technique I like to use when doing leaves in photoshop:

It's really simple just use a brush you like and start with the dark colours and then the the light ones.

This is my contribution... It didn't take me 15min more like an hour!

The ear rings move a little wierd in the side view other than that I think it looks cool ;)
#73
you could change the side view of you character so that her head is facing to the left (intead of facing the player). But that's only how I'd do it . Otherwise I like your art!

I definitly see the similarities.

btw. Monkey island is based (inspired) on Disney's "pirates of the carribean".

I'm a composer and Guitar/Keyboard player. I love to make songs and themes with diffrent modes and atmospheres(No midi). I'm pretty good at making short and neat little jingles aswell. I'm capable to do diffrent kinds of genres but I mostly do freaky/wierd proggresive things.

I'm also a background/Sprite arist but I don't have time at moment to do more of these then the ones I make for myself. :)

Correction: They are LucasArts adventure game characters, and can't die. If The Dig was a Sierra adventure, you'd be certain that taking off your helmet would, in fact, kill you. And if it was a comedic Sierra adventure, there'd be a fun animation of your head exploding.

You could die in Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders by... taking off your space-suit's helmet.

You can also die in the Indiana Jones games by LucasArts...

I had to try one my self. This is how it turned out

Not really pleased with it but i'm too lazy to work more with it :)

The colours and resoloution of the magazine turned out wierd when I saved it as a GIF...

Best puzzle: in "amozon qeen" when you make the monkey disapear by telling him that he doesen't exist. It really made me laugh ;D

Whorst puzzle: "Nine men's morris" game in "conquest of the longbow". It's not really the whorst puzzle, but at least the most enoying!
