Love those screenshots.  Looks gorgeous.

Good luck with it.   :smiley:

And that does the trick.  Thanks Slasher.

I've been struggling with this for a few days, and I'm tearing my hair out now.
Any help is appreciated.

I have some dialogue where the player can pick from 3 options.  And I use the GoTo-Dialog to get to a new set of options, and GoTo-Previous to return to the first set of options.
Here's my code:

The dialogue starts like this:
Code: ags

// Dialog script file
@S  // Dialog startup entry point
JASON: Hi there.
MANAGER: *grunt*   You must be the competition winner.
MANAGER: What was the name again… John?  Jacob?  Josh?
return
@1
MANAGER: Jason!  I see!
MANAGER: I'm the Manager for UpTempo Maniacs.
goto-dialog dManagerResponse1
@2
MANAGER: Hmm.  Well, you're here now, so I suppose I'll just have to make the best of it.
MANAGER: I'm the band's manager.
goto-dialog dManagerResponse2
@3
MANAGER: I'd rather not!
option-on 4
goto-dialog dManagerResponse3
@4
MANAGER: If you'll excuse me, I'm very busy!
stop

And then when I go to the dialogue for ManagerResponse1, it's this:
Code: ags

// Dialog script file
@S  // Dialog startup entry point
return
@1
MANAGER: You may.
return
@2
MANAGER: As it should be!
return
@3
MANAGER: Humf!  Just remember, they took valuable time out of their busy lives… for YOU!
goto-previous

The problem is, when it goes back to the previous dialogue, it starts right from the top again, with:
JASON: Hi there.
MANAGER: *grunt*   You must be the competition winner.
MANAGER: What was the name again… John?  Jacob?  Josh?

How do I stop it from repeating those first 3 lines every time, and just start again with the options?

Ahhh!  Somehow I deleted the 'Function CManager_Talk' from the global script.

It works again now.  Thanks.

Working on my first game here.

The Player Character suddenly refuses to talk to anyone.
I run a Test Build... use the Talk cursor to talk to another character... and nothing happens.
And I can't figure out why.  He talked fine before.

I've probably done something really stupid... but what?

Code: ags

// Dialog script file
@S  // Dialog startup entry point
JASON: "Hi there."
MANAGER: "*grunt*   You must be the competition winner."
MANAGER: "What was the name again… John?  Jacob?  Josh?"
return
@1
MANAGER: "Jason!  I see!"
MANAGER: "Well, you're here now, so I suppose I'll just have to make the best of it!"
MANAGER: "I'm the Manager for UpTempo Maniacs."
goto-dialog dManagerResponse1
@2
MANAGER: "Well, you're here now.  I'm the band's manager."
goto-dialog dManagerResponse2
@3
MANAGER: "I'd rather not!"
goto-dialog dManagerResponse3
stop

EDIT:  Using AGS 3.4.1

I think you can only get a steam refund within the first 2 hours.  After that, you're out of luck.

Unfortunately GOG has become a bunch of nuckleheads lately so I don't have high hopes. But I gave it my vote.

Yeah, have to agree with that.  They've gone downhill a lot.
Still, they're better than steam.

Added Guard Duty to the GOG Community Wishlist.    :smiley:

I'm excited for this.   :smiley:

You should really post a DRM-free link that we can spread around.

Thank you all so much for the support over the years <3 These final few days are crucial to getting the word out and making sure I can work on another project after Guard Duty.

Please help support the release by sharing the Steam link with your friends, on social media or with strangers on the bus.

Have you got the DRM-free link ready, that we can share around?   :smiley:

Hey Wombat.    :smiley:

Saw your artwork, and I love it!   :cheesy:   Would really love if you would do the backgrounds & characters.    :cheesy: :cheesy:

I'm sending you a PM with more details about the game.   :wink:

Hey Guys.   :smiley:

I've been using these forums since... forever!  But I'm finally ready to attempt my first AGS game.  I just need some help...   :cool:

Project Title:
I Wanna Rock 'N' Roll All Night

Details:
An adventure game about a rock fan who wins an all-expenses trip to spend the afternoon with his favourite band, UpTempo Maniacs.
The band will also play an exclusive live set, just for you.  But things don't exactly go smoothly...

Positions Available:
The game runs at 640x480.
I'm looking for someone to help with backgrounds, characters, and inventory items.    -   VampireWombat has kindly agreed.   :grin:
As you can see, my art skills are... non existent (lol)!    :tongue:

Jason meets the band manager

Jason and Abby watching some TV

The game takes place in a mansion, with 36 rooms spread over 4 Floors.
There are 8 characters that need to walk in 4 directions.

Deadline:
When it's ready.  There's no hurry.

Comments:
I'm looking for a style that's slightly cartoony, so... nothing too realistic\serious.
A strong colour palette is preferred.
Maybe something like Fran Bow, or Monkey Island?
But I'm open to ideas.  Most of the characters are rockers, if that helps.

This will be a free game, so I cannot pay you.  But you will, of course, get credit for your art.
If you're interested, please either post here, or PM me.

Yep, that's it.   :smiley:
I really loved Series 1.  But Series 2 wasn't quite as good.
