This *is* interesting, but I'm no good at imitating real instruments, and I dislike General MIDI far too much to work with that.

Jimi. Your assumptions are entirely groundless. Stop talking.
#303
Trapezoid: you still don't get it, but that isn't surprising as you weren't there at the time. Stop trying to guess. :P

Birds of a kind of insight into the inner workings of the dark? Tell me the pursuit of ultimate truth?

It works for me even though I do not have Media Player 9 installed. Ha.

That's great. I love the copyright notice.
#307
Ah yes, it does run. It's pretty hard, though, so I haven't even tried normal mode yet.

"Unable to load game (error: file not found)"

The missing file seems to be the agssave.030.

General Discussion / Unilin

I can't get on IRC right now due to a misplaced gline, but if Unilin is on, somebody please tell him to PM me.

I've never had enough money to waste a lot of it on something, but I once persuaded a friend to buy a Voodoo 5 5500. I was genuinely convinced at the time that this hardware T&L nonsense wasn't going to work out.

On second thought, you're right. I was interpreting the analogy a little too tightly, I think.
#312
I think I just felt a cold gust of wind sweep through the room... did anybody else notice that?
#313
Personally, I don't think the "grammatical rules" analogy works. Music theory isn't a Big Book Of Rules that says "YOU HAVE TO DO IT THIS WAY OR YOU WILL DIE!!1". It's just assigning names to the things people like Trapezoid prefer to learn by experience, which makes it easier to talk about them to others.

(Also: this discussion reminds me of the fact that wherever I go, many people seem to hate "artsy" music. Why is this? I really, really don't like using such a trite and arrogant phrase, but my impression is that they don't get it. Discuss. Or don't.)

(edit: to clarify, I don't mean inability to enjoy/appreciate it, I have no problems with that)
#314
Because CJ didn't UPX it. I don't know why, maybe he just forgot.
#315
Music theory is a set of rules? Did I miss a memo?

...and if you want the talking animation to play, use AnimateCharacter. You'd have to put something in the RepeatedlyExecute to check if the character is still talking (using IsOverlayValid) so you can stop the animation at the right moment.

It's been a while, but IIRC it was me who first added the *** where I thought they fit (i.e. there weren't any when I got it), in one case in the middle of my part.

Ha! I guessed* right. It is based on the same principle as Calvinball.

*) actually, I googled for it and read the links properly, and it's completely obvious, you silly people :P (no offence meant)

After some googling, it seems to me that the concept Mornington Crescent is closely related to that behind Calvinball. Looks like it could be fun with good players.

Noooooo springs!

Looks interesting. You haven't released much by which to judge that, but I trust you. :P
