Done. Though at a few questions I would've appreciated 'other' or some more options. One of the first settings one, for example.

I don't really like the look of the glass above the door. It almost seems painted on? And the new location of the coach + board makes it seem less isolated and more cozy, which is why you might not want a rug. The board could've fallen of, or the couch could've fallen or been broken or dirty or something.

I like how it looks, but he looks imbalanced. Like he can fall backwards any moment. Maybe put his legs a bit more to the back? (Not on the tail part though) Dunno.

It's great that all the tabs open at the top of your screen, but I keep trying to re-order them as I do all the time in my firefox, but doing that just opens a different tab. Being able to order them would be a lot handier. Just a simple drag and drop, like Firefox. Or an auto sort by alfabet (or type) if a new tab is opened, perhaps?

I'm pretty sure I could get at least the simpler games running on a DS (if I was authorised to do the port) but I don't see the point personally. SCUMMVM is awkward on DS, and even worse on mobiles/PSP/etc. AGS would be no different. AGS games were not designed for small screens, or two screens
I diagree. The psp has a screen resolution of 480x272, and classic adventures work and look just great. Low-res games would fit there perfectly. Only problem with the handhelds is their lack of a mouse/keyboard, but since most adventures don't have that many time-based puzzles it really isn't that much of a problem. (Okay, text parser games are a bit annoying, but it works.) DS .. well, the resolution is too low, though you can stretch it over two screens, but the touch interface would work just fine as a replacement mouse.

I say, psp, olé!

I once accidently formatted the wrong drive.  :P It was recoverable, though.

General Discussion / Re: UFO Experiences

So I was in my base, telling the research departments what to do, when suddenly the geoscape showed an attack in London. The city missions were the hardest, and I knew even before our team got there the civilian death toll would be enormous. I ordered the team to go there immediatly.

We arrived on the scene at 1am. The night missions were the most dangerous. The tank rolled out of the airplane first. It was newly developed and this was its first field mission. Unfortunetely also it's last, as an alien hidden on the roof shot its rocket launcher. The rest of the team split up in 2 teams of 4. One of the teams entered the building on which the alien had fired its rocket launcher, the other team was supposed to secure the nearby gas station. The first few turns were relatively quiet. The second team ran into company first. It was an ugly grey creature with a simple laser weapon. Sergeant Lasagna doubted no moment and fired his rifle. The alien grunt dropped dead on the floor. They still had to be careful, those weak grunts always traveled in packs.

Wait .. this thread is not about x-com? :=

- Make characters walk around the screen a bit
- Just place characters you can't have a discussion with, but just say one random sentence of text ("Sometimes I dream about cheese") It won't interfere with gameplay.
- Don't draw things all clean. Cities have junk lieing everywhere, which can really add to the atmosphere, or the feeling of a busy area.
- Have an animated background ie. the wind blowing through something, traffic driving and people walking out of reach.
- Ambient background sound. A city will seem much more alive if you can hear cars driving around, dogs barking, etc.

The downtown area in Space Quest V is probably a good example of all this.

I agree with most of the points made in this thread about the forum, but I think it has always been like that. And after a while those things can really start to annoy/bore you. And since more people are leaving then are joining (because of dispopularity of adventures, competing forums or because someone was an .. ass) it may seem as if the forum has changed, but in reality your own standards and expectations have changed.

I'm just basing this on what I read, since I don't post that often.

Awesome game, and best of all: I'm still alive. Can't wait for the onslaught of brilliant custom levels ;D

I pre-ordered the orange box on steam, so I've also been playing Team Fortress 2 a lot. It's the most fun I've had in a multiplayer shooter in ages! I'm getting quite good playing as a pyro, if I say so myself. Anyone else here who has been playing this gem?  :) (Though I've read the console conversion didn't do the online mode well .. max 6 vs 6? Wtf?)
#57
Didn't you also post this on the Fok! forums?

That one was closed pretty quickly.  ::)

Whoo! I've conquered your pants!

Wait ... that doesn't sound quite right.  :P

You know, this is exactly the right place to ask this.
That's why he's asking it here.
