is it just me or did everyone who posted do better than the (english) national average. Don't know about the american average myself.

But average in c/d in GCSEs and same in a levels

Does this mean that AGS users are just smater than average or the ones with low scores don't wish to tell us about it?

I have seen a few posts of people worried about tests... seriously the more you worry the worse it will be. Don't spend all night before cramming, you probably won't renember anyway, your brain will appreciate sleep more.

And don't do what my friends did and come to an exam rather drunk! they failed and slept in it.

That sprite is really cute, but she does wear other clothes later in the series, but are you consentarting on the early bit where she is still rather confused.

It may work better if later she were wearing perhaps the clothes hidaki gives her or the dress belonging to the landlady

Hey, I wasn't sure who to ask about this so I was hoping you guys would be able to give me a hand.

Heres the problem, I am dyslexic and as a result a slow reader, I am scanning in books for my homework in TXT format (my teacher showed me how)

However the program at school (that reads work aloud) requires i be at school and I'd also like to do some work at home.

Before I have used Babel fish, i just copied and pasted the work in and it would read it (in a bad translator voice but oh well i got the gist)

Since then my computer has crashed, i lost the babelfish program and the demo CD i got it from lost so I'm a little stuck. My google searches have been a bit confusing as i'm not sure of the phrase to search for.

So anyway does anyone know a program from the net either as a demo or shareware or something not too costly that would do this. 

Also I have found a computer voice option in windows control panel and a friend has hinted that perhaps that can be used through word or otherwise without me having to download a completly new program, but i'm stuck again.

Thank you very much for reading, it probably seems like a stupid question, but it would really help me out (heck i could also use it for big chunks of the AGS manual yay)

I agree with rui yes i was a bit melodramatic but i didn't know how else to put it.
Ã,  Ã, However as we have grown up with it such as i have grown up with my computer we couldn't see life without it because its always there, or an alturnative like dvd.

what is a betamax, i renember an old tape thing an our attic by one spool was twice the size of the other and it was shorter than tapes now. I think it way have been for an old camera, but is it a betamax thingy.

oh and tape rewinders, some of them had special heads on the spools to clean the tape so it would last longer or something. I wanted one because when my brother was little he would cry and cry if he didn't have that days favourite video on. He would go crazy while waiting for it to rewind, so a video quick change in the player so we could keep his videos on would have been great. (better than having my hair pulled out)

I can't renember the name of the film i'm thinking of (if somebody knows help me out cos i've been thinking bout it for days)

A family buy a enormous satilite dish from a man which we may assume is the devil. THen they can watch hundreds of channels, but that night the dish starts to move and sucks in a person, then the family who come out to see. They have to travel to different channels of the tv finding the exit to each one for example they become cartoon mice and have to fight a cat in tom and jerry fashion.
Then they find the remote control and live happily ever after.

well i think that would be quite a cool adventure game with each channel being a different section with a different puzzle to find the exit.

thinking of broken sword 3 who got past the bit where you have to sneak past the guards, its a timed puzzle and annoyed me alot.

I'm not sure how to make it not in first person as your supposed to be playing yourself in the game, and the charactor would have to be a photograph as well to make it fit in...

Thats alot of photos for a walking anination!

i was thinking of getting a still photo for non player charactors and animating them like monty python did.

My game isn't properly thought through just a basis at the moment. Just want to see if it may be worth actually making.

The aim of the game to to get enough money to buy a ticket to a concert or to go to a theme park (or something simiolar) may be given a gangish theme to cause enough trouble for your gang to take over.

its made of photos of a town you can visit places like the nightclub or seedy back alleys. (may be lincoln or peterborough uk)

its in first person you play as yourself

There are lots of mini games to play in which you can earn money or items. Such as in the nightclub you can get peoples phone numbers by chatting them up, then selling the numbers to mr desperate in the corner. A big mission will include graffiti tagging certain areas, but solving puzzles first to get everyone out of the area so they don't call the police. Then you gat paid for graffiti areas by a gang leader.

I was thinking some kind of pizza delivery mini game.

and a game in which you have to answer questions in a pub quiz getting questions wrong means your charactor has to take a drink, too many and they pass out, you have to start again.

ok now looking at it i know it needs alot of work and there will be other puzzles in persuit of money or mischief for example cover a small remote control car in a mouse costume to scare away a door guard who happens to be afraid of mice.

Hello sorry this isn't an adventure game but I thought you guys as fellow gamers might be able to help me.

I have had several copies of the game Silent Bomber (great game about blowing stuff up sneakily).  But after the boss of level 11 the game crashes and refuses to load any more levels.

Surely if the game has been released (and re released as I brought one yesterday) It should have been tested as this is a major bug. As it is now the fourth copy that has done it. I know i should have given up sooner but the first three were second hand and i thought maybe I kept buying the same copy after i had returned it. Stupid shops.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a way around it, i knoe this game is terribly old but i have been waiting years to complete it!! 

Is there maybe a cheat to get me to level 12?

heres an arguement, now this is a true achedemic theory. I read it in a book.

the male gaze: man get turned on manly by sound and sight whilst in women many more factors are involved such as what the person says and their actions (non sexual). Therefore men respond better than women to movies because they respond generally better to sight and sound because women think of many other things.

not sure of this

another theory is that because most movie  makers are male (true, can you name a female director?) so they makeit for male audiences.

and yes my friend is an idiot, yet this is an intersting arguement likely to last all weeek ort as long as it takes to beat him to a pulp.

My friend says that all films are made for men and they all like certain types of film. he says that women cannot enjoy films like men do and some genres only men like!

Well this is about AGS in a way. I made my ags game and have to email it to my teacher to be marked.

I've already sent it twice as an attachment to an AOL email but both times he did not recieve it. Could his email think my attachment is a virus and deleteing it? :o  He should be recieving it on his school email which i nknow nothing about.

Does anyone have any ideas, this is my A level coursework that needs sorting. As i said i'm on aol.

would it be better to post it somewhere and get him to dowload it but he knows nothing of how to do this.

The last line thanks to you the player is replaced by a blue cup. This line was orinanally line 26 untill i tinkered with what i wanted to say. when it was line 26 it was displayed normally.
I had another line as that would not display but i deleted it thinking it was an error on my behalf it was either line 30/31, before i reshuffled the credits.

4. done that, thanks it was bugging me (how could i have not noticed something so simple)
Oh and it does work with 0, my credit sequence is called 0 and works fine.

Well, my avitar used to be a dragon sitting on a sign saying here be dragons, it's from discworld books where a dragon santuary has that sign outside. but the avitar broke and i havn't got round to fixing it, now its just a cute red X.

My name well long story cut short.... my baby bro is called josh and he is real cute so i made up names for him. Joshykins, joshey woshey, joshster, baby josh, untill i came up with Joshielah, so everyone in my family and all my friends had a lah added to their name. much to their annoyance.

The way it is spelt is due to AOL, Gemmala was already taken so I added a h on the end, no email or forum has anyone else with this name, guess it's cos its real stupid.

I know what i'm gonna do, i'm going to university to study media, then i'm gonna make films. real good ones.

I though those were two seperate terms

walking dead is were you can't carry on because you are walking around without the right equipment or something.

Dead end i thought is where you die because you do something wrong and without a certain thing you forgot to pick up you can't not die. over and over without going back to a saved game ect..

so the only difference is that walking dead are not really dead just not able to compltete the game in their current state. Am I wrong?

for example there is a game where if you walk into a room you get shot, but if you use a key on the window to open it you can wait until the people leave the room so you do not get shot, but if you don't have the key you get shot.

i stopped making sence now so i'll just be quiet.

1. CreditsSettings... does that need to be placed anywhere special because it will not notice i have put this in, either with the SetCredit bits or just before i run the credits. The lines are squahed together anyway.

2. Occasionally I get a blue cup insted of a line of credits, though the settings are the same only the lone number is different like it says in the manual. I deleted one line with a blue cup but on the next go round another line that worked before had turned into a cup. It seems to happen when the line number is 30 or 31.

3. will ags creditz allow music to be played aswell because PlayMusic (10); will not play my file Music10.wav in the game folder. I may not have a music9.wav does this make a difference?

4. The game won't quit after it plays the credits (and won't play music) I put this in when player enters screen after fadein.  0 is credit int

6. slightly off topic but this code for making the room animate drandomly does not work any ideas, the room animates constantly insted. it is in the rooms repeatedly execute bit.
