Noooooooooo! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Ruined! Everything ruined! You bastards.

Ok then, the winner. It is a tie between DG's and Netmonkey's entries. I'll let this coin decide.

... the winner is... DGMacphee!

Obviously this coin likes boobies!

(I'll have that metal soundtrack ready in a week, Grundislav!)

The most simple kind of copy protection at least stops the clueless casual gamers, who don't know much about computers, from burning copies of the games for their friends. I don't think they should give up copy protection completely.

Me and a friend of mine once started arguing about which tastes better when you're thirsty, milk or water. We decided that there are different kinds of thirst, say if you've been exercising and are really thirsty you maybe don't want to drink milk, but water instead. But then we thought maybe this differs from person to person, some are milk-thirsty, and others are water-thirsty.

It felt a lot like we were George and Jerry.

Very, very random.

(Most of my tune compo entries end up being piano bashing. How odd.)

What is the Photoshop Contest?

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved. Also you can check out the earlier Photoshop contests in this forum.

Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, Gimp or any other ~equally good programs can be used.

This week on Photoshop Pheromone:

In light of the new Looney Toons (see thread: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=19676.0) I started thinking. There are so many beloved characters that still haven't been ruined. Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to destroy some more fond childhood memories. Thusly, your task is:

Create a new modernized version of a beloved character

(Notice I didn't specify you have to do this with adventure game characters. I don't want to be that restrictive, so go ahead and do anything you want.)

For example: Meet the new Indiana Jones.

(I apologize for the pic, feel free to spend more time on your image than I did on mine!)

Yeah, I know what you guys all mean: I find that after playing Japanese love simulations....

... your penis turns invisible?

I hate it when that happens.

http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=568Ã,  This?

In America it was released as a James Bond game, but apparently the character was called John Glames in the European version.

His argumentative self hides behind that avatar, and only comes out every now and then where there's an opportunity to take a stab at AGA or scotch. Pay him no heed.

Oh no... no, Gilbert! NO! I think that would drive any person crazy in less than three minutes.

It's Väinämöinen!

Stretching the rules here a bit since Finnish mythology isn't exactly Norse... but we're so geographically close anyway!

I'm keeping mine on mine because I can't be arsed to delete it!

Now then. Victory. New activity will be up when I think of something clever.

...

It may take a while.

General Discussion / Re: What do you prefer?
Sat 26/02/2005 22:27:07
Until adventure games start utilizing 3d in a good way I prefer the old 2d style.

Words cannot express how much I dislike the way some modern adventure games work, where you can look around a pre-rendered backround freely with the mouse, but to walk somewhere you have to click on a door, stairs etc, and it will automatically jump to that location. When I play a game from a first person perspective, I want to be able to walk around and look around freely.

I'm waiting for the first person perspective 3d adventure games that let me do that. Think Deus Ex, Vampire: Bloodlines (or even Half-Life 2), only with less combat.

All anti-spyware programs I've seen say Download Accelerator is spyware. Wouldn't surprise me.

I'd recommend finding that 4231762.exe and deleting the shit out of it.

QuoteWhy not Codename 47?

Because that one's going to be made by Uwe Boll, and it's going to look something like this:

I feel obliged to give a more elegant way of doing it:

Code: ags
