Mmm yes, I've seen this posted on various other places before.

The thing that amuses me most about it is the amount of people who seriously ask "why did it take that much people to make a crap game like this?!"

Back home (in my parent's house) we have 64k ISDN.

But here (in my university apartment) I have a 1mbps connection. Which means I can download at about 800kb/s if the server is good. Usually it's in the 100-150kb/s range, though. Still a whole lot better than the 6kb/s at home. ;)

I think we're all gentlemen enough not to steal from each other, and even if there was theft, I can imagine it'd score negative points when it comes to judgement.

Very very nice song, Geoffkhan. It sounded exactly the way I imagined a Sam Spade theme would be like, and I would no doubt have tried something similar had I chosen Sam, heh.

And now... I made another tune. Dick Tracy this time. It turned out even cheesier than I thought it would, but I guess it's ok considering it's the first time I've ever tried to make something like this.

You are both right and wrong, heh.

It is true that it's common in mathematics to place origo in the bottom-left, but in the world of computers the coordinates for pixels on screen have 0,0 in the upper left.

Can't really say I feel your pain, but I understand your point of view.

Excellent idea.

Here's my Sherlock Holmes theme.

Mind if I take a shot at the other characters as well? I'm toying around with some music that might suit Dick Tracy well...

One thing to keep in mind is that some spyware removal programs consier DAP and Go!Zilla spyware. I'd stick to Getright just in case.

Zing!

I just got an interesting spam. At first glance it seemed like a perfectly normal "2 Free Round Trip Airline Tickets, good for worldwide
travel" lie, but at the bottom of the mail was this little story:

Quote"Why aren't you in a more interesting business?"

`Yes,' said Arthur, `yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked
filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying
"Beware of The Leopard".'"

"I know this is off the subject, but will you marry me?"

`Very deep,' said Arthur, `you should send that in to the "Reader's Digest".
They've got a page for people like you.'"

A trick to defeat spam filters, or evil samuraii at work? The latter, if you ask me.

A well deserved victory!

(And a good server you hosted it on, I managed to get 500k/s from it. You need to put more stuff up there ;))

The problem with metal is that the musicians (and even moreso the hardcore fans) take it far too seriously.

But I truly enjoy metal music. If you ignore the lyrics, which is very easy to do since you can't hear them anyway, there's nothing like it if you want some music that packs a punch.

Return of the Phantom?

Beware of the illogical maze and annoying puzzles!

Dreaming is very nice. The rest are good too, but Dreaming takes the prize! There is no reason for these tunes to stay unfinished!!

* Ghormak is reminded of the vast amount of his own unfinished tunes

Why I should host the Phriday?

It's simple, DG.

I'm bigger and stronger than you, and I could crush you.

You all know goatse.cx has been taken down, right?

It's sad to see one of the Internet's greatest legends disappear.

I think the fear is more real if you find out what the Terrible Things(tm) are for yourself, rather than having the game explicitly telling you what's going on, or the player character letting you know that he's figured it out.

In System Shock 2, for example, you find out most things by listening to audio logs left by other crew members. They only hint at strange things happening (at least in the beginning), and with the logs combined with everything you see you can start to piece together the whole mystery for yourself. No NPCs approaching you saying "Goddamnit, you! Don't you get it? They're going to do Terrible Things(tm) to us unless we get out!". Good good.

...

That is indeed a coincidence, as I've never played the game. How creepy.

We did a "fill in the speech bubbles comic thiingy" before, and that was very fun. Helm and Butcher, if I remember correctly, each did a comic where we would fill in the blanks.

Thumbs up for EvenWolf's idea. Maybe more than three panels would be even better.
