Because I can't sleep and I have no imagination to think up an original shield, I made this:

It's the Finnish Lion.

I thought the "Im exploring the whole street in 3D"-feeling would have been much better if the cameras weren't fixed, but rather controllable like in your average 3rd person shooter. I find it very annoying not to be able to take in the view of the whole room once you enter it.

Good game, though. Still haven't finished it.

Bastard.

What survey was that?

"Should we include lots of pushing crates around in BS3, OR should we include even more pushing crates around?"

I like how every update starts with "Woah, it's been so long since the last update!"

Continued success and luck to you, sir!

I think it was Roger in the GUI editor with a lens flare.

...

Drawing? What? Preposterous.

Person A: Please, don't do this!

Person B: *does that!* LOL!

Am I the only one who think that joke has gotten veeery old lately?

I think Farlander has a point.

Besides the headache eric has given me, I'm going to have to say: Moose Wars in its entirety.

It's one of those things that nobody thinks is funny except for me.. Isn't that the point of avatars?

Yes.

Please don't poison an otherwise harmless thread with opinions. :P

The link (3.6mb WMV)

James Hanningan, game music composer, has put a 6 minute video clip on his site where he talks about integrating music in PC games in an iMuse kind of way.

In this video, he specifically talks about Republic: The Revolution. I have played the game, and unfortunately the game itself is a bit boring, but the music is absolutely stunning, and it works perfectly to set the mood.

Personally, I think good music is very important in adventure games. The interactive/dynamic way it's done in Republic (as talked about in the video) makes music sound even better.

It's an interesting video, even with some technical info near the end. Well worth the look.

Nice work. They have a lot of character!

I think the lighter outlines on the shirts look just fine, but the green outline on Chris' pants looks kind of odd to me. I don't really know why, I'm no artist so I can't explain it. :P

offtopic: I love the album in your avatar, Rincewind. :)

I just thought it was funny, because as you've noticed we like to laugh at the lens flares, regardless if they can be turned off or not.

I agree with Yakspit that coronas should be visible in games. I actually think it looks good. But not the multi-coloured circles as seen in the first screenshot. Ugh. Sure, the player should be penalized for staring into the sun, but lens flares is a little too harsh!

All I have to say about Doom, the game is that I don't like it at all, lens-flare or no lens flare. :P

It's a golden statuette of Roger posing very much like another well known golden statuette.

As much as I like to see fellow Finns speak their own tongue, other people get pissed when you do it. :P

Behold the Swiss Army sword that looks more like a bread knife because I suck at pixel art!

I think that with this perspective the bassdrums look much too deep/thick. They look more like barrels than drums. :) I also agree about the pedal, but everything else looks fine to me!
