No prob (laugh)

A more experienced programmer will be able to explain in greater detail, but technically:
String is used as a variable. So you will want to use that.
string is used by the engine to hold "constant" values.

edit:
Thanks for clearing that up, Cimson! (nod)

That's a case of string vs. String. AGS is case-sensitive and you need to use a String instead of a string.

As a rule, always use the String variable- you can use String.Format on them, use them as pointers, and do all the stuff a "true" programming language would allow you.

Congratulations Ponch, and great entries all around, guys! Happy Halloween (laugh)

And hi Gypsysnail! I remember you, too! It has been a while (nod)

As I see it, calling Move with eBlock should do the trick.

Gold for Arjon's Monster Clown. Because it reminds me of Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and that is a movie you must see to believe it (It is about clowns from outer space who are also killers).

Silver for Bulbapuck's Double Costume because a) double costumes are a wicked idea, b) double costumes have been used in Darkman, c) I really like Pokémon.

Bronze to Ponch's Igor because it clearly showcases the most efficient method to collect the maximum amount of candy with the minimum amount of fuss, and one can't help but appreciating that. I am also terribly afraid of cows, and he could swing his bell at me.

My cats watched with interest. Seriously. Ears perked up and everything. Is that a trick video? High-pitched sounds or such? Subliminal messages?

Let's pour some more tubies into the thread, by the way!

The problem I see is, ShakeScreen is a *blocking* function, meaning, it stops the game for as long as it is running, and this will mess up a walkcycle-bound approach.
There is ShakeScreenBackground, which is non-blocking, though.

But seriously, while the idea sounds nice it's also very gimmicky. A screenshake affects the whole screen, GUIs included; I think it will stop being "cool" very quickly. Sometimes less is more- reserve the screen shakes for a few situations where Kong is really angry/kicking Godzilla/tearing down a building, and it will be much more satisfying.

We need the TalyTurow Thread.

[edit]
And I need to dig up my Pancake Thread, too.

Nasty stuff indeed. I don't really get it though. I remember when you got a virus from a FLOPPY DISK.  Getting a virus was a risk you faced when you were getting a cracked/copied/hacked copy of a game, which was illigal in the first place, so people couldn't really complain when they got one. And back then some viruses were, let's face it, downright playful. Autumn Leaves, do you remember that one?

Seems these days it's all about causing the maximum damage possible, on as many computers as possible. Shame, really.

So how about some more company?

Aye! No Hallow's Eve is complete without a Ghost dressed up as himself :=

I see that Yathzee guy everyone keeps mentioning in the jury panel! And many other guys! And Notch! That's the guy who made the game where you grow wheat, right?

Got to play the entries sometimes. There's some cool stuff on display there.

What actually happened to [...] 'Daemons in the Attic'? :P

It turned into a RAM Ghost. Seriously, I have huge folders of assets and roughly a dozen builds. I like to think of it as the demo that made me understand AGS, but it's really not been in active development for... months.

I'd really like to know if The Forgotten Element is officially, ultimatively, absolutely dead. There never was an announcement that it was cancelled and the production values were really high; anyone here knowing more than me?

I bet there's more than just ONE Logan Cunningham in the world. One of them could well be dead. Or dad. It might've been a typo. That happens a lot.
