Magicka GOTY

THAT was quick!

Steam profile link under our forum pic! Steam profile link under our forum pic! SOMEBODY MAKE IT HAPPEN! I WANT MOAR FRIENDS!

+1 that, when we have Fezbook icons Steam is just the sensible next step. It's basically my Operating System these days.

Anyhoo, I go by "lostcraft" on steam and I look like this:

Anybody else still playing Borderlands2 (without season pass) It's 10 euros, but I'd hate to play alone through the game.

Quote from: qptain Nemo on Sat 13/07/2013 07:04:21Death Gate is an adventure game plain and simple, made by Legend who were really good at making adventure games.

Agreed, calling it an adventure in a high fantasy scenary would've been more precise. I still found it very close to typical (Paper'n'Pen) RPG settings (and over in Germany that was a strong selling point) ;)

Mouthwatering trailer for awesome games. Well done, sir!

But where is the mirror on the screenshot you posted? Is it the golden stone? If so, what does it reflect?
The golden nugget, a section of the icy wall and the icy ground all reflect; in the screenshot this doesn't show though- but it looks beautiful in action.

Well done, Monsieur; I never thought I'd need mirrors. Now I will put them everywhere!

I like the option to vote for games. And yes, just a casual glance made me greedy for some of them games.
Antichamber. Left 4 Dead 2. Rogue's Legacy.

Soon... Soon you shall be mine!

I'd also like to recommend some games that are now laughably cheap:
They Bleed Pixels - a punishing and stylish jump-and-run; think Super Meat Boy meets Cthuluh meets Cute Monster Girl
Dungeons Of Dreadmor- a fun, challenging yet tongue-in-cheek roguelike. No healing potions here, but 30+ different types of cheese
Gnomoria- Dwarven Fortress with less features, and doesn't take ten years to learn how to play
Don't Starve- A game where you must not starve

Ghosts make about as much sense as they always have.

;) Looking good. Looking real good.

Read the "warning" section please: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=47966.msg636460071#msg636460071

I did read that warning, but it's the default template that includes those lines and throws the error.

Starting a new game in Beta5, using Default template, gives the following error right after the project is created:
Error (Line 19) Undefined token 'SetVoiceMode'.
Like Snarky, I am using the latest zip.

Clearly not an AGS bug, just an error in GlobalScript, and easy to fix, but should be cleaned up  (nod)

Come on, why angry? A background ocean sounds like a perfect use for an animated background. Objects would require extra work so that they don't catch mouse-clicks.

If this *is* what randypanda wants. I agree that for a finer grade of animation/more diverse types of animations objects are better.
#1217
If I read you correctly and you want to have animated water (probably a large area), using a couple of backgrounds with slightly different frames is the best way to do that. In AGS you can have up to five room backgrounds, just draw different waves in each of the five frames and you'll get quite good results.

Now that is quite a bundle of games; congratulations! Gotta play them all!

Since I didn't manage to finish mine (and, sadly, decided to base the whole gameplay on a bit of a music gag), here's a screenshot of a drop-out  (laugh)

Death Gate comes to mind; it has a bit of the RPG paniche but plays as a true adventure game- to name an example, there is a spellcasting system but it's actually used to solve puzzles or *avoid* combat.

It's ancient, and can be found on most abandonware sites, too: http://www.abandonia.com/games/525/DeathGate

And finaly: Facial hair or no facial hair?

I kinda like the version with the beard. It's somewhat expected, isn't it? Beard = wisdom (Says the ghost with the goatee).
