Don't think so... and hells, the votes are clear! While each and every story got at least one vote, only one writer got a bagle!

First place goes to KConan
Second place goes to Baron
Third place (and a bagle) goes to Sinitrena

I apologize for the absence of trophies this time. I can't explain how they got lost, but they did.

Annnnnnyway, Kconan, you're next- amaze us!

Holy miscountings, Batman! To the RECOUNT CAVE!

Does anyone remember leaving Space Quest III on for hours, just to see if you would eventually arrive at your destination without jumping to light speed?  :=

Point well made (laugh)

Quote from: Baron on Mon 21/07/2014 04:48:01if Chess is "perfect" it can't be a good game

I read it differently- Chess is merely an example of a "perfect game" where all elements are known and visible (and Poker is an example for an imperfect game). Both can be good games, it's just that when you see everything and know every rule, you have a different feeling about the game.
The logic is off though: He brings in the computer program being a black box, which makes COMPUTER chess imperfect because you don't know how it works. But technically a human opponent is just another black box because you can't really be sure about the moves he will make.

Only thing is that the ctrl-V still always gives version info, even if debug mode is false. Is it supposed to be like that?

That's intentional, nothing to worry about (It also takes some heavy trickery to disable the Alt-X shortcut. Not that someone would WANT to do that ;))

I see a roast turkey.
I see at least two vaguely humanoid shapes standing and holding hands.
I see a sort of hand in the bottom left reaching for the "central cloud".
I hear Creepers.

A guy starts to make a game. Soon, he knows, he'll have an awesome game.
13 years later, he's done, and makes a nice little video about it.

Take a shot each time you say, "Yeah I was there too!". Make it a stiff one of you use(d) the same toolkits.

edit:
And since the video is only 90% awesome, the game's there, too: http://tobiasgame.co.uk/

Surely somebody can do better: now prove it!

... because BOXES are innately funny, see?

That's just plain awesome, Mandle! Thanks a lot for sharing this, and say hi to your class from me!

For me the Cadet is the face of the game. I drew the Scout first (she's also the only Invader who has a canonical name) but as soon as I realized that there would be classes with differently balanced stats, the Cadet became my "Mario" character- I used him as the "default" for the overall game balance and all other classes are based on him in that respect.
I imagined him as a fun-loving guy who just is really good with people, so making him able to "charm out" of a fight was sort of a given. I think the very simple design of the characters just makes him easy on the eyes so that might count as "kid friendly*" ;)

It's great to hear kids like the game. That's quite probably the greatest compliment a game-maker can get. (nod)

I don't know if you're familiar with "Happy Days", but there's a bit of the Fonz on that Cadet ;-D

Yup, that's the plan: to make people more curious. :P

But the bigger the buildup, the more awesome the payoff is expected to be. If you cancel another CB you will basically have to make Chuck Norris a pixel just to get a lukewarm 'yay'. :=
We also still wait for that pic of your room.*

under visual is an option "when player interface is disabled, GUIs should" .. was set to hide all their control ...

Yes, that was what I meant. Good you got it solved :)

Completely disappear, or "grey out"? I wrote the TwoClick module and never had anything like this happen, so it must be something you changed- did you change the "Gui display style" in General Settings in some way? Or made a new game and just copied the script into it? By default AGS greys out GUI controls when a blocking/wait command is run.

Met the neighborhood watch guy on first card...Died in 3 rounds...
As I type this the game is getting a "house rule" screen that allows to "tweak" the rules a bit. I remain adamant that a boardgame that you just play for the sake of it should have some challenge, but that's MY opinion and why should I scare away someone who wants a more casual approach? I'll include a "safe ride" option that makes sure that no deck ever starts with a fight; that should already declaw the game a little :)

Ghost, please add some achievements:
UnMOOvable Object: It took you 20 or more tries to abduct a single cow.
Just Leftover Scraps: 50 or more scraps carried at a single time.
(or somesuch)

That is a very cool idea, thank you, Mandle! I would have gone for a "score system" (leftover time etc) but achievements sound much more entertaining! I'll see to get them in, great suggestion (nod)

Sorry, it's not gonna happen. ... I'm out. :-(
Aw man, sorry to hear that. But well, I think we're all done with the extension, and can head over to the voting bit. Thanks to everyone who submitted a story:

* "Untitled", by Kconan
* "Drowned Park", by Sinitrena
* "Eat Your Greens", by Baron

As has become standard, you are allowed to cast up to three votes. Think of it as "Gold, Silver, Bronze". Gold is worth 3 points, Bronze 1 point. Silver is worth
2.211242 points and a bagle.
Here are the categories:
Mutation - Who had the most interesting, gut-wrenching, funny or scientifically possible change of... things?
Atmosphere - Who managed to best create a sense of whatever you expect when you read "someone mutates"?
Style - who wrote best, had the most awesome words, and generally managed to NOT spell the "teh"?
Character - who introduced the most interesting, likable, relatable, or awesomely rejectable character?

Whoever gets the most overall votes wins and gets to feel like a winner (nod) Should we get a tie I'll cast a vote myself.

Thanks a bunch, Radiant- and yes, they're really rather friendly as long as they get their daily milkshakes. About thirteen.
