One thing I can point out for sure is that the female manga style characters eye placement seems off to me. Especially the bottom one.

The bottom eye? (laugh)

I thought it would be much easier when there's only two entries... boy was I wrong (laugh)

You have a nice clean style there, but right now the characters look very bland and generic. There's some hints at what they are meant to represent but they don't stand out. If you were to use these as a base for game characters, I'd personally prefer the style showcased in the first two sketches (vampire and big nose bald guy) but that's because I don't particularly like the base manga style.

This is just gorgeous! Actually makes me wonder how the (nicely detailed) 3D scene would look with a well-animated 2D character. You got the modelling skills alright, jWalt, but sometimes I think the amount of work you pour into the actual animation does not quite pay off... I have no idea how complicated it is to "rig a character", but apparently it takes MORE time than a nice (or decent) 2D animation 8-0

I work hard and as long as you like my style..... I can do it.
Let me know if you can give me a home!

Just a note: SithLord has a great sense of humour and a born game-maker's brain. The man's an asset (nod)

A happy birthday to you, AprilSkies! Thanks for awesome games (nod)

I don't know any details about your game, but the multiple Wait(40) commands sound like a bad idea. You're blocking the whole game for a second there, and that can seriously upset user input if a collision repeats or if there are many characters on screen. I think nobody would like to play a sequence that relies on "speedy control" and have the control taken away regularly. Imagine playing Super Mario, and each time a coin jingle play, the game freezes. ;)

__
A very hacky idea. Use an attack animation. Start playing that once a collision happens. Assign the attack sound to a frame in the animation (in the view editor). You will still need to take care that the animation is not started over and over again, but you avoid the whole sound issue.
#469
The problem is in the "IsThingsOverlapping". As long as they are, the sound is started over and over again.

The most basic solution involves the new audio system. I suggest you create an audio channel, and test against it using IsSoundPlaying. That way, you can play the sound only if its channel is currently not playing.

This can surely be fine-tuned even more but the basic idea is sound.

Can there even grow mold on food when there are no spores around in the first place?

There's plenty of Spore in space. Mr. Molyneaux saw to that. Some are cock-shaped.

But... how do you spy through a keyhole having the key still in the keyhole?

Psst. The KEY is the SPY!

Yes, how dare you rip off Hobo and have a blue person looking in! :D

I think there's only so many ideas you can come up with when you're given a keyhole. I am surprised no-one yet made an entry with the key still in the lock!

I actually thought I had a neat and cool idea...

And gone is my change to win this one, thanx Misj ;)
As are mine. Who's going to think that my idea is original now?

And I had such an awesome pun, too. Because that's a Kee-Hole, see? Where there's a lock, there is a Kee.

CURSES*!!! :P

But damn, sweet art as always Misj! Nice to see you again!

I got a gift of the bundle recently, and the games are well worth the money that someone else spent so that I could play them.

2034 AC 2: Ponch is a kick-ass writer of genuinely funny settings. Playing through the game (that I too at one point had the pleasure to test-drive) is like playing the manual for "How to lean on the fourth wall, then break it down, and toss confetti into the player's face, in 12 easy steps". Sadly the Canada jokes and references were lost on me; I always imagine it's a bit like East Fresian jokes in Germany but I lack the background to get the subtler ones. But the good thing is that there's actually some clever puzzles too, so apart from being funny and genre-savvy, it's also a really good and satisfying "classic adventure game".

That Damn Dog: I played through this one in a single session and loved the premise; putting a sitcom into a game and the player into the sitcom was a really cool setup. And really touching to see the damn dog not being that damned. Compared to last Sale's 12 Months In I was surprised to get such a "light" game from tzachs. Do I dare? Hell why not: So sitcom! Very chuckle! Wow!

BEER!: I never got into WarioWare but after a couple of false starts with Beer! I think I understand the fascination of microgames. I suck at many of them but that doesn't stop me from trying again... and again...
I am also using the Wallpaper from the goodies pack because it's trippy as hell. I already know Radiant for coming up with creative ways to code non-standard puzzles, and here it really gels well. It's a fun time waster and casual enough to pick it up for a short round (pun intentional).

Blue Lobe Inc.: I have not yet played it, but at least had a quick glace and I'll surely give it a spin soon.

All in all I'd like to add that the second bundle once more shows how different games can be and how unique their author's designs are. Thanks a bunch for having made this happen :)

The problem is that even if a plastic toy is deemed "non-toxic" for humans, fish are so very different. They are smaller, they have a different metabolism, it's really hard to judge what could harm them.

I had the idea that you could use a bit of glass sheet. Just ask if a hardware store can cut them for you (it's pretty common here and often they don't even ask money) and drill some holes in. THAT should be absolutely safe.

edit:
Fish Tank Trouble would make an awesome adventure game, don't ya think? Sounds catchy ;-D

but nothing about painting, techniques, or programs wonder why

Because it is written by a background designer. He already knows how to draw, and just explains how they came up with the style. If you want to learn how to draw, there is no way around practising, as Khris already said.
You can use pretty much every program because it's just a tool. But you need to know how to use the tool. If your goal is to mimic the style of someone, you need a basic understanding of how you draw in general.

My advice, hit the internet and google for basic tutorials on perspective, cartoon drawing, and drawing in genereal. YouTube can be a treasure trove in that respect. And then get paper, pencils, and do the three Ps, which are practise, practise practise.

Luffa's a gourd, actually, and can be grown easily. I used to have a patch because they make nice natural sponges for art supply (and rather tasty soup).

But so far trampoline's idea sounds best; you'll probably never be short of a place to get nylons.

Is it safe to put one of these in my tank? I think it may be okay, but I'm worried there might be a chance of it releasing toxins? I pulled out the light ball inside and cut holes all through it to allow water to flow through in to the intake.

I have no idea if they would release toxins, but if you're concerned about it, why not use a bit of luffa sponge? They are 100% natural, have large pores and should allow enough circulation, and they are pretty "stiff" too.
