Ah, right- then maybe specifically asking for a *musician* might be better. I started to play Ponderabilia- it looks gorgeous and plays well, so I daresay you'll find someone (nod)

You want to kill a boar with a snowball? (laugh)

Sensible idea. Might take a *lot* of snowballs though and with some bad luck the beast will just build an igloo out of them, having tea while you run out of snow. But at least you won't be cold anyboar.

I got a nice selection of freeware sounds, collected over years, so I may be able to provide some sound effects. If you're interested, just PM (nod)

No. As I understand it selecting an inventory item just replaces the mouse cursor graphic "until the item is deselected". As you say, one can script a workaround, but out of the box AGS can't do animated item cursors.

However new ones I have created seem not to be picking up in AGS.

How are you setting the mouse modes? Do you use "cycling" with the Mouse.SelectNextMode() command, or are you setting the mode with mouse.Mode == ? Are you using a template?
I am asking because technically your setup should allow you to set modes as you see fit.

We didn't have the cartoon back then.

Nice game but it is kind of hard.

Galen, I am sad to hear you are having such a hard time beating the game. I admit it isn't for the faint of heart- wide open sandbox games with guns and canon infringement tend to be a bit on the hard side. But think about the bragging rights when you finally make it!

But here's your hint, oh casual gamers:
Spoiler
You need to CLICK the BUTTON with the MOUSE

Ponch, please refrain from taking anymore laxatives. Such diluted urea is unacceptable, even for a cow!

But... but... he has TELEPORTING poo! 8-0

If you want to use "speech portraits" like most of the classic Sierra games, you simply do this:

- in "General Settings", go to Dialog -> Speech Style and select "Sierra transparent" (this will overlay the portrait over the current room)
- in a paint program, create the portrait frames
- import them into AGS
- create a new view, assign the portrait frames to it
- assign this view to the character's property "Speech view"
- done :)

__
Edit:
You can also use "Sierra Background". This will black out the screen; games like "Guilty" used this to nice effect.

Aachen, Germany, so that I can finally make it to see you all!

We just learned that there are goblins and ettins. A world that distinguishes between those somewhat related mythical creatures is a dangerous place; Ettins are badass, and goblins are bad news.
