it's alright I suppose :) one room is ok, so long as the others are outdoors :) The main idea is that the story/theme is something to do with the outdoors.

Well, I disagree on the demo because not everyone wants to release a demo of any kind, or at least not early into the project. I also think that requiring a previously made game or demo isn't fair, because those who want to start right away with a large project (and have the right to- many don't succeed but some who are serious do), and of course can't release a demo too early, shouldn't be deprived of the right to start a thread. Also, if someone wants to bypass this rule it's all too simple- they could make a quick "test" game. Of course these games can and should be made sometimes, but not in order to get "permission" to post a thread. Also, MAGS games can't release a demo cause they're small as it is, and many people (like myself) begin AGS game making with MAGS.

Overall, I like GG's idea of providing more information, story, progress info, etc as a requirment. This might be easier for serious games, but games based on humor or joke games can also do this by providing screenshots, characters, features, music or anything else. Also updating something like a designer diary or  just the first post with new information, can also help promote any type of game.

Yep, that's a good example, also an easter egg can be a refernce to something, like for example a poster for a game in a bar, if it's not just tiny, I'd consider it an easter egg. Good example is also in MI3- you find yourself in MI1 again in one of the places(or MI2?) and also there is one part (don't remember in which MI) where if you tell guybrush enough times to do something, eventually he will do it and it's just something funny. Anyway, that's an easter egg :)

Jae- The forum member "rule" is just a suggestion someone requested, you can have a famous person if you want, but it's not an obligation :) Same goes for time travel, which is more of an idea to help you think of a story :)

Minimi- Really? I didn't think it's very hard. Then again I like to have many restrictions. It makes it more challenging and competition-like. I've made sure there are enough inventory items there to be used, and the animated backgtound can even be a sign blinking or whatever, like leaves fluttering.

Anyway, good luck all who enter. Next week I won't be here cause my computer needs repairing (Win XP), which is why I definetly won't enter (actually I don't have a good idea anyway, heh). I'll be watching the forums through my mobile phone internet :)

At first it seemed number 5 suited him most, but 6 is just so funny and memorable, I know I wouldn't forgot lord ironcrow (not that he's easy to forget after the intro in apprentice 1 ;)). 6 has this style that makes it really funny and anti-stereotyped in a Dottish way (reminds me of dott, yes). :)

Heh, thanks :) Though I've a feeling Minimi's game would've won had he entered. No matter though, was still fun. I think the rules are pretty good, hopefully I'm right ;). It's pretty non-restricting. I have almost finsihed the rules, I'll wait until magintz PMs me then.

Oh man, I just finished it, this demo is sweet! The really fast cutoff to credits suddenly really made me want the rest of the game. This was very well done, aswell as everything else. Loved the Bonuses :)
This is a really well polished game- the art, music, dialogs, plot, puzzles and voice acting are all superb :)
#508
I like how all the music comes out from different places :) Really good. Still, I think the other ones are beter. Or amybe not better, just more to my taste, so I like em more :) You rock evil!

Awesome, great design! yeah, links to games should be implemented sometime. Also, maybe a home page with some general info on AGS and the Awards?

Either way, can't wait, gotta catch up on my AGS game playing to be able to nominate :)

Ok, I've done some thinking of the rules, when i finish them, should I wait for magintz to post? if not, who do I send/PM them to?

I hoped there'd be more entries, but in any case I'll try my best to come up with comfortable rules, not too free, not too restrained.

Well, yes the char is a traceover mostly, which is why he looks decentish I suppose, but you must understand that even with lots of time I can produce anything much better than this. My shading sucks, so this time I decided to go for a flat look. Albeit these didn't take very long as you'd expect, but I did spend enough time on thinking of their layout and such.

What is it exactly that bothers you most? I'm not against negative feedback if it can help me improve. Have you got any suggestions?
#512
Alright, this is just something I'm wondering about- Is it possible to have one part of the char have a different name and have different interactions (for example a logo on one's shirt would bring up a description of what the logo is of, and clicking the rest of the char descripts the character. Or if a char is carrying a bag I want to be a able to click on the bag and the char will open the inventory).

Is this possible? Do I need an extra character to somehow follow the char and be part of him?

Dunno if this is simple enough for beginners tech, but whatever. :)

I'll just have lunch (I'm home from school) and then it's right to AGS to finish it  :)

P.S. Unless something horrible happens of course. ;)
