Great example!

This is a wonderful idea!

I'm off to do something! :)

I like it, it could produce some very funny results!

Very good idea, IMO. It could also not be limited to people, it could be a background or something later on. Whoever wins, i.e. did the funniest/most original/best part decides what will be drawn next, and starts on it. :)

Yep, forgot that. I think girls sign for 2 more years though, But 3 will be fine. Programming! :)

Then we can start our greatorz gamez company!1@! hehe
Seriously though, who knows ;).

I wanted to be an astronaut once, and still do a little, but something changed that idea....errr.... guess...

Judging by what happened with Columbia. Did you know that there was a jewish woman on board the Challenger too? Not israeli, but jewish.
We're cursed!
I really enjoyed a sort of "ride" in the "science park" or whatever in the Technion in haifa. It spinned like in space and then I was all confused. Cool! ;) It's meant for demostrating what it's like when you are in a spaceship. It was great fun.

AN AGS MAD LIB
Once there was a man named Jane. He decied one night to make hairy cats by making a program called AGS.
Armor Game Studio was very popular
with all of the trees. The community grew
very silly. He was very frightened that
everyone liked it. He thought it would be strange to start a get together
with all of the agsers called Hat.
This would be great for talking about coal in person. A lot of people
have been banned from the forms such as Tim Schafer and Manny Calavera. But it was all to make this a crazier place. We all stranger AGS!

LOL, this turned out very funny! Hilarious!

Good point. I think he might do it anyway, since it's something I find intuitive to do when without a computer. I think about computer games! :P

But anyway, he'll see it when he gets back! :P :)

Hmm, odd, I don't remember apprentice being very slow. But then again I'm running at Pentium 4 1.5 giga-hertz so.. :P

Anyway, yes, it's by default room/background specific. The reason I indicated to make it 42 not room specific was because in the tutorial it actually said to just make all colors but the first 17 (which are locked) into room specific, but in my case this screwed with the sprites so i returned it to 42. Dunno if it did anything to size, but it helped with color problems. Basically, all you really need to do is make your backgrounds 217 colors, than hopefully it will help a little.

:)

Great! Great shading!

The skirt is a little too side, looks like it might fall off :P, and the hands seem a bit odd, though I dunno what would make them look more hand like. Her breasts are a little long, don't you think? Maybe they should be more straight up :P

You sure are quick!

I think DOTT has colored outlines, yes, though I don't recall exactly.

I did it with black outlines just to do it quickly, as a demonstration, It wouldn't be too hard to do the same with colors I guess, by zooming in and finding the right pizel to change color at.

Interesting though, when there are two colors using the same outline, like the blue wall and the orange, err, whatever it is :P tape for the wallpaper or something? So which color do you choose? do you just go with what seems to look better or is there something specific, like choosing the color that is darker?

Those are great additions to the backgrounds, though I agree the pots look odd. The brown one look pretty nice though.
I love the gradients you used on the plants and the chair's shading is great too. And of course, can't have an office without papers lying about ;)

Hehe

About moving the character, check if there's a walkable area between the object's current location and where you want it.

Scripting:
http://www.agsforums.com/actutor.htm
it's not donloadable as far as I know, but it doesn't need to be, the very same tutorial is available in the manual, just look for 'scripting tutorial'.

Of course there isn't just 1, There are 300 Global Variables available. :)

Well, if you don't have the layered version anymore, selecting the outline will be a bit tough, but here's a little attemp I made in manually selecting the colored parts and copy-pasting to another layer, then creating balck behind it:
This could be done the same way only make the outlines colored, or you could select the outlines(which doesn't seem to work very well for me but you could try) and then copy paste them to a new layer (just Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V, it creates a new layer automatically. You could then go to image>adjust>hue/saturation and adjust saturation and lightness to 0, to make it black.
It's practically impossible to select only the oulines of one wall for example, so I always reccomend keeping the Photoshop versions with layers, and seperating outlines for every element of the picture. :)

edit: here's the edited image, it's pretty rough on the edges so it's not fir for using in a game, there are some small areas that didn't get selected:

the same can be done with the second image I suppose. But I think there could be a better way. Someone more skilled in Photoshop than I am might know :).

P.s. it's "Yes, Miss". Say it with me.. :P j/k ;)

edit: Wow, great stuff! This is splendid for a first character, it's very unique and cartoony!
Now, for crits: his pose is a bit odd, though it does make it more cartoony.
His legs are just, he looks very uncomfortable :P.
Love the shading. His chest looks jagged or something like that :P.
Great 'one-eye' idea! It's all about the originality and making things look interesting. :)

This probably doesn't apply for a cartoony style, but it may look better with colored outlines, though I think it works fine like this :)

Oh, too bad about your buisness, hope to see you back soon c_leks! Good luck with job finding, I suppose it's easier than here in Israel at least (there's a lot of unemployment here right now. a whole lot :P).

Use this time with no computer to do productive thing like writing in your spare time, and hope to see you again soon!
#714
For these images, you could also select the areas of color (or the layers in the Photoshop file) and just remove the outlines layer or hide it, and make a black background, or change the saturation/lightness for the outlines layer to be completely black.
That's for black outlines of course.

If you're gonna use these in a game, it's best all backgrounds stay consistent, so maybe you should try to alter these bgs so that they have darker colored outlines too. If these were just a test though (and a great test if so) then there's no need to bother changing it I guess. :)

It's just important that the background style is consistent :)

haha, looking at Evil's signature and at agsking's sprite is great!
Great job, they're all brilliant.

Evil: Hilarious!

Squnky and Ghormak, great work, those are stunning! Jesus's dre..er, I mean, whatever he's wearing :P looks a little like stone/marble though.

Your Hitler is a bit feminine looking IMO Darth, but it's an example so :P.

Good sprite jam idea. I'll try do something if I can think of an original historical figure ;)

mods: [hide ] [/hide ] without spaces :).

I like the idea! He could do this while in her castle/home/whatever. Then the ending cutscene would be her clothes fall off :P or her breast strapper gets unstrapped. :P

Wow, that's just great!
I would love to acheive such cartoony results in Flash.
You know I think you just inspired me to try and do something in Flash! :)

I love all the details in the image, it makes it feel complete with all the little additions! :)

look around carefully, this was hard for me too.

hint: there are reasons why the LucasArts interface has so many verbs. This is one of these reasons ;).
where would you keep a key to a desk drawer?

ROFL
Hmm.. tough.
I think it's important that the last puzzle in a game is memorable, so it should be good.
Only idea I have:

Spoiler
Look for something mentioned earlier in the game, or mention something that could help proove it or find proof or get past the guards, for example: You overheard some guards talking about taking a break at a certain time at night or whenever, and that nobody would try anything at that time because ___________, so you need to get the time to be that.
But it isn't that time of course, and you need to do this fast, so you could set the clock somehow to the time you want (suppose it's the same light level) and then the guards will leave for some rest, but they also leave some other obstacles or traps or something, so you need to get past this and then find the evidence, like finding something only a woman would use, or maybe a something she used to strap/flatten her breast or something else that would incriminate her, then get out (the guards could come back before you get a chance, so you could just show a cutscene of them coming back and you climbing out of the window or something.

and also, incorporate, into those traps maybe, the reason why no one would try anything at that time. :)

Hope this inspired you in some way :P
