But the music that is there is wonderful. Too bad there's so little. I liked the cutscene music most, especcially in the train ride from Barrockstadt (sp?) to Komkolzgrad. And of course the music in the opera cutscene was great.

I kinda prefer the old one both in style and animation, though the closed eyes are a drawback, but what synthetique did is beatiful. Damn, you are all so talented!

Hmm, I've been following your project for a while but didn't get a chance to post, do you need any help with puzzles? Cause that's basically my best area after story, and would love to help with this project. :) I don't know what puzzles you have finished and what ideas you have for others...

P.s. perhaps god should blink once in a while, say once every two steps (thus once in a walk cycle). I'm not sure if this'll work though, but god looks a bit too awake in the new version. :P
Anyway, great work!

Edit:
I had an idea, to create stars (if we need to) god could use a sharp object ot make small holes in the black fabric. Just a thought. Of course this would be day 2.
Also I really like the GodHopper! Ali did a brilliant job! It could be the official transportation method for gods. Hmm, if Lucy is still supposed to hinder god's progress in the later days, he could mess with gods godhopper and thus make it useless until reapairs are done (which takes a day) and so he must find a different temporary means of transportation or borrow/steal (:P) someone else's godhopper lol. What do you think?

Oh and I was just wondering what puzzles are already one and what need work on (in the first day)?

Edit 2: This just came to me, perhaps the book you thought god gets, creation in 6 easy steps/creation for dummies (I can't choose which is better lol) perhaps the tips are vague slightly riddly instruction for the day. Umm.. And maybe as an obstacle Lucy changes the 'tip of the day' one day and confuses us into doing something else, whice is like a red herring only may be useful later on. It would be like a printed tip with handwriting drawn over it a little sloppilly to make it look like the person was in a hurry. And maybe god says: "Hmm, that's odd, I didn't know that was a part of creation.."
:P
I'm flowing with ideas here! lol

Btw, have you decided on a name for the game yet? I really liked Neloe's "Oh God!".
lol

Edit 3: I'm too excited to stop thinking of this dammit. :P
Now what was my idea?
Ah yes, maybe if god uses the Godhopper to get to the universe he's creating, on the first day there will only be one screen so maybe he will stop his vehicle in the bottom-right corner (with the brakes making a noise lol) and when he's painting it with light there could be an animation of him painting and the background gradually turns white in places, then "a few hours later"(or however long it takes) he is done. Alternatively he might just spill the paint all over and that would save time, but maybe present an obstacle later on, where he might need white paint for something and has none so he must find a different solution, and if he had painted and taken time he would have some paint left. Hmm, if there was a choice between painting and spilling, that could give the game more replay value..

Omg, this post is long...
:)

Oh and btw, has anyone worked on any dialogs yet? what dialogs will be required for day one? Richard of York, The iimortals daughter (if I'm not mistaken?), and umm, who else, Lucy?

Oh and are you planning to make a website for the game? It could link to all the threads about the game here.

I don't have a preference in any type of shading, it can look good in any method, and yours looks very good to me! :)
I really liked the lightbulb, except it's a little small, and apart from that the cover or whatever that blue thing is looks a little out of shape.
Hmmm, is that I pile of clothes in the corner where the wardrobe was? If so, maybe let some loose sleeves out a bit so it's not so round, it looks a bit strange.

Very nice walpaper!
You could add a sillhouette to the black but I think it'll work ok this way too, or perhaps just curve-edged square without the bottom "cutout".

Overall, great picture!

Oooh.. rant...  ;D

(some spoilers below)
Spoiler

I totally agree with Igor, comparing TLJ and Syberia is like comparing.. like comparing...emmm....never mind. :P
An example: When playing syberia I actually found Kate annoying sometimes (and symphatised only when she got annoyed by Oscar lol), and really was rather indifferent to her most of the time, whereas in TLJ I just adored April and got very attached to her and all her friends.
Most probably this is due to the lack of the 'look at' action and comments.
Also the game felt very static. This was part of the atmosphere but jesus! NO hotspots! That's what bothered me most about this game, even more than the endless way-too-easy mechanical puzzles.

Argh, and those doors! I quite agree, I think there was something else planned there in valedilene, though it could be they just had to have SO MANY empty screens between the hotel and the notary's office...
The "No need to go down there" response wasn't exclusive to valedilene though, there was one (or two? eek) more in Barrockshtadt(sp?). I think it stopped there though..

The game is still worth a play, mainly because of the graphics, music, and incrdeible cutscenes! The opera one is awesome! Also, there are a few good things about it apart from that, like the atmesphere and some of the puzzles (the story is pretty good too, though it didn't seem to play much of a role.. we were always winding up the train and the most reference to plot was the voice cylinders and in the conversation with the scientist).
The ending wasn't that bad, but then again I wasn't stimulated by the mammoths so much, and seeing syberia, cause it was hard to remember that that was even our goal (well, actually the goal was finding Hans, but the story wouldn't be interesting if it was just about findind him. er..).

The voice acting was okay I guess, but not as I had hoped and heard. I only noticed personality in a few of the characters like kate (tho not very much) and Helena. Oscar had more personality than some, for a ro..automaton. And annoying. He was very annoying. Exactly why he was actually very good, because by Kate's reaction he was meant to be annoying. Might have overdone it a bit though.. :P
[close]

Anyway this rant/review is getting long and when I'll think of something to add (and I will) I'll just add it. ::)

edit: I'd just like to add that the journey was perhaps more important than the goal, but Syberia is way out of league when it comes to Grim Fandango! Comparing the two is like... like... oh there I go again.. lol. Grim Fandango is about a completely different journey, "the 4 year journey of the soul" (to be said in Manny's voice :P), and comparing syberia's ending to Grim fandango's fantastic one is blasphemy!
I worship two games : GF and TLJ. They are number one together. Syberia comes in somewhere in 5th place perhaps (I, very unfortunately, haven't played that many games worth the top ten).

:o That is awesome. I too can tell the use of smudge, but I still wouldn't be able to use that tool so well! I really like the colors too :).

:o :o :o
That's awesome!
A few little things though: The orange bit in top left corner area doesn't really fit, and I dunno how it would look but perhaps it would look nice to have a slightly darker or maybe redder sky, for more contrast. The rock and the path all look fantastic, and like Neole said, a sea where the empty sky area is would look beatiful. :)
One more thing- Since the center of attention should be the rock (I read your other thread), I presume there will be some interaction with it (is this for a game?), or that it has some important role. If not ignore this, but if so I think the rock should be a little bigger, or the view should be a little closer, or, if it's possible, to tilt the view upwards* just a bit. That would also make it fit better as a 3rd person screen, though it works just fine in that aspect now.

edit: * I  meant downwards of course, though titliting upwards would give it quite and atmospheric look lol. It's just fine for 3d person the way it is now actually. :)

Final words: *droooool*  :o  :o  :o

Could be his own baby. No, thats cruel! *hits self* lol

I like dragons too, though I like the magnificent(sp?) middle ages ones, and chinese are cool too ;). Anyway the point of this post is to say that your dragons look a lot like a lot like the Alatiana flying people, from TLJ, only those aren't green.

Oh and great drawing! :)

 :o :o :o :o :o

Wow that's beautiful! I esspeccially like the "water"", the rock, and the wooden thingy on the far left. It all looks so smooth! :)

Guybrush looks great aswell, though he does need a little more sillyness. :)

I would love to see how it all turns out. Up till what part are you planning to use MI2 as a traning camp, lol?

They all look great, love your style! I especcially like the shape of the magazines. It's the little details that make the difference. :)

p.s. off-topic: is something wrong with the adventure gamers server? the site isn't working... ???

 ;D LOL Dave

Here's my entry (first time I participate in this):

If it isn't obvious who's winning, read Guybrush's line carefully. It actually came out like that by accident :P.

Here's another one. Took a bit longer:

Me, I'll test it! LOL
I enjoy testing games and with my rikkety(love this word :P) computer(it's very new but very insecure lol) it's bound to crash. I'll also love to give feedback on puzzle difficulty(if I don't get stuck ::)) and what I think in general.
Here's my e-mail: natalye@netvision.net.il

Btw about the puzzles, I'll probably need to know what level difficulty you were aiming at. :)
