Yeah, my degree is going to be worthless as soon as I get it.  I'm a bloody music major.  What on earth do I do with that?  Well, who knows.  I guess I'll find out in a few years  ::)

You're welcome to do music for games I'll do, lol, making AGs is my dream and I'm sticking to it. I'll probably first work in programming or something, but I hope to make adventure games.
Anyway, I have time if I wanna change my mind, I'm on in the 8th grade. I do pretty well, most of my math tests are 100 or 98, in the final grades it's been 100 so far. Science-last test was 95
Mostly I get good grades like these.

In high school I'll probably study computers, it's my favorite subject, even when it's scripting and stuff. I just hope my school will teach computers well, I haven't met any comp teachers at school cause we don't have computers. Hopefully it'll be good. I capable of studying on my own, but a good teacher is always helpful :).
I hope my current maths teacher will teach me in high school, she's great!

P.s. What do some of you hope to work at in the future? Anyone else going in the computers direction? Just wondering. :)

edit: congrats eric! good luck! :)

 :o :o :o
there should be a big eared icon lol!
That is beatiful!
I already have a musician on the team but if you'd like to join as another one(the pace right now is quite slow and relaxed, cause I'm working on doing the puzzles, dialogs etc, so music isn't needed yet much, though I already have a main theme by remixor :). I'll PM you with a description of the story :).
Did I mention Awesome work!!! :)

:o :o :o That looks awesome! Beatiful work! They look on fire and yet not on fire, they are The Demonic Trees! Come to get your soul! Muahahahahahahahaha!!! Seriously, great work! :)

I use high-color, not the pallete, but here's an idea, maybe I can just take any empty room(or not empty doesn't matter :P), put a little color of each of the editing colors on it, and export it(you can export walkbehind masks right?) then open in Photoshop, use the 'eye' tool and write down every color's value in Photoshop. :)
#985
I feel more comfortable doing the walkable areas, walkbehinds and hotspots (and regions if needed) seperately in Photoshop, where I can zoom in, make it precise.
My question is (yes, I know, about time :P lol) how do I know what color to choose for every new hotspot or walkbehind. That is, first is blue, then green then something red, I'm not sure using just any blue will work, and I know it's not good to work on colors that are too far in the list, since it's uncomfortable. Is there like, a list of which color is which color number in Photoshop or other programs?
I appreciate any help. :)

Whoa, that's a long time of practice. It ussually cheers me up to know that if I just practise for a looong time, I'll get to this divinity.
Naw, not a chance :P ;).

The problem is I don't know where to begin. I've read many tutorials, but it didn't really help very much, and I don't know just how things look, since I never pay much attention to it. Yes, I know, observe, observe, observe.
You inspired me, so now I'm off to draw some stuff. ;)

Btw, you use different thicknesses of pencils and a sketchbook, or just plain paper? Is using different thicknesses of pencils important?
My, I have a lot of questions today :P.

I have an idea for a variation: "Shadow by Moonlight", or "Moonlight shadows".
I really liked the first idea.
Also, possibly "Shadows of Truth" "Shoadows of Illusion" and "Shadows of glamor/glamour(sp?)"(:P) which are all kinda inspired by you saying:
QuoteThe main themes of the game are of reality and illusion, seeing and believing, the authentic and the imaginary.
Almost forgot: "Shadows of (the)/(your) Imagination". (chossing between 'the', 'your' or neither).

The mood sounds really atmospheric, this game sounds like it'll be awesome! :)
Plot is great, what with the "dark part of the glamorous films", it sounds soo cool!

[edit] new idea: "A Moonlight of shadows".

Your drawings are amazing! :o
That wolf is so cute! ;)

I have a question: How long did it take you to reach this? Is it just a natural talent, or did it take tons of practice? and how long approximately does it take you to do a sketch like this? Just wodering ;).

Great idea, though could be a little hard to implement, but too cool to give up trying! :)

I can't say I'm very available, since I'm working on my own game, but to some extent I feel it's good to work a little on other projects, and develop my skills, so:
I have only worked on my game, which is just at the begining, but the story is finished (with maybe a few tweaks) and the puzzles are in progress.

Also, - unfortunatley, my computer doesn't seem to accept any microphone right now, new or old, after a fairly recent reinstallation of windows. Until we resolve this (should be soon, I'm anxious to use the microphone, lol) I can't record anything  :-\
Note that I haven't done any voice acting, but I can imitate voices ok, and express emotions rather well I think. So if you want to cast me when my mic's working, then for a small female role ;).

I'm looking for a character artist or two, and same for animtaors. I might be looking for another bg artist who can imitate the style currently in progress. It's a hand-drawn looking style which Jon (bigjko, the artist) is using a wacom tablet for. I'll have the website up soon and I'll put a screenie there. :)

or IM/PM. anything goes lol. :)

I'm pretty new to AGS, but to only allow someone to enter somewhere witha costume\transport(may I ask what that is?) you need to set a variable to true when he wears the costume and then when he wants to enter you check for the state of the variable.
I think it's something like this, correct me if I'm wrong, or just check the manual:
If (GetGlobalInt(3)==1); {
//what you want to happen, i.e., him entering the place or whatever

else;
//him being told he can't enter or something
}

:)

I sent you a long PM/IM just now, if it's not too late ;).

They are truly wonderful tutrials eric, unfortunatlely I've read them zillions of times , and still do, even if just for the fun of it, ;).
I used the technique you use in your hi-res bg tutorial, as far as I can at least, layers and adjustment layers for shading, but I'm not very good at shading, I think I need to work my understanding of how things are shaded in real life.
I'd like to thank you for your wonderful tutorials, they're very helpful and a pleasure to read. :)

*lights matches* :P lol
#997
Yes, I resized it, but only for the forum, this bg isn't meant for a game or anything, so the size doesn't matter. That explains the lines looking weird. Is there some option in PS t like, select lines and change they're widths after doing the outline? And coloring afterwards.

Anyway, being an experiment it is missing a lot, isn't connected to anything, and umm, now that I look at it, it's extremely empty. I'll make changes to it later, I'm working on a website right now. Anyone else have comments?

P.s. How can I use shading to show light coming out of the lamp? Like a small glow around the bulb?

Critics' Lounge / Thin lines and a sample room
Sat 12/04/2003 20:51:05
I'm playing with photoshop and trying to draw a simple room, just as a training, partially according to a tutorial I've read. C&C is welcome, and tips for improvement even moreso. I also wanted to ask how I can make the lines thinner, after having drawn them. Is it possible? I just can't draw with very thin lines, because they might be lost, but i don't like thick lines. ;)

Oh, and here's the pic, hope it's not too big:

it was too big, fixed now.
and the lines look a little better now but still

#17 - Ginny. My lucky number! (Well, not really, but it's a nice number never the less...)
my e-mail is: natalye@netvision.net.il
;)

edit: by cartoonish style, do you mean with sarcastic humor and such like in MI games? In any case, I'll go along with the story when it reaches me. If it's still alive, lol... :P ;D ::)
