Completed Game Announcements / Re: Downfall

Congratulations! Although I am slightly worried to see Simon the Sorceror on a nearby shelf- that shop may be adjacent to a hellmouth or a temporal-spatial anomaly... :)

Congratulations mate, awesome stuff. :)

I was doing inventory for the game and suddenly realised- four different alcoholic beverages, two books... no gun? Cool.

Now I know.

And knowing's half the battle.

The other half is red and green lasers.

It's even odder when new folk arrive, get hazed, leave, and then post frequently somewhere else. It's weird.

Does this have to do with Snake's MoNKeY WreNCh? Of which I've never seen a screenshot..come to think of it..

No connection. Never even heard of it.

Divon, chuck me an email so I can send you the first zipfile of artwork. :)

Are any of the self-appointed official reviewers of all things AGS going to review Divon's amazing game?

If only he'd made it in 320x200. They'd be all over it like a cheap suit on a real estate agent.

MonkeyWrench!

Take one Tibetan ape. Add one hot blonde with four generations of hardboiled private eye in her veins. Mix liberally.

"Why don't you pack heat?"

"Carry a gun, you mean, in English?"

"Yeah."

"I don't need a gun. I have a Monkey."

Music: 100% complete.
Sounds: 100% complete.
Sound FX: 100% complete.
Voice Acting: 0% complete. Looking for voice actors- now's your chance. Otherwise it's me, my compadres and the voice modulator software. :)
Script: 100% complete.
Art: 10% complete.

Game is a magic realism / private eye with a lot of cases, clues and so on.

Features telephone use by using inputbox functions. The game contains the most comprehensive list of 555- numbers I am aware of, including all of them from all known sources plus several dozen more that the supposedly authoritative sources lacked. Plus ones original to this game. Also features easter eggs, hidden rooms etc. in addition to the main narrative flow.

An interactive map updates as cases develop, clues are given and exploration is carried out.

Features masses of references to film noir, ape and girl teamups, other similar tropes, and the ubiquity of the generic in Hollywood and LaLa Land in general, but not at the expense of the main story.

Also monkeys. :)

Website is twofold, since the comicbook version when it comes out will be part of the Golden Universe, so in addition to that website set it will also be featured on my Inherited Tigers blog:

Ook.

Treehouse (of Doom?) is nearly done, I was sorely tempted to go Zbrush on its ass but then I would be working on it all year and that is retarded. So soon my brother, soon. :)

Did you try using the original series font for the game? If so what was the design reason for not using it, doesn't it look good or is it difficult to read after the conversion process? I find that, with some special fonts.

Lovely game though, has a really nice feel. I am looking forward to seeing the whole ship gradually emerge through play. :)

Check out his blog- not a mention of it. It is coming soon, soon being an indo-sudetenish word meaning "at the same time as the second coming of Christ"- which is ironically the current project he's working on.

A big shame too because it looks really REALLY cool and fresh.

It's still terrific, and terrifically clear. I have actually solved this problem independently, but couldn't explain it with the wit and wisdom you showed.

Snarky, if we could vote for best thread- this would get my vote. Fantastic.

Pfff, Angela Gossow could kick all of their asses.

See THAT kind of thing is what entices me about this silly silly idea... :)

Okay?

Honestly, it could be done a lot better.

Well of course Dopefish did it as a joke, hence the writeup but it could be done. Not as any sort of licensed thing for real, just a fangame. Not sure, not really my cup of tea. :)

Looks lovely, and the GUI looks really cool and appropriate too. :)

The greatest game that never was... Could it possibly make it as an AGS game?? :)

It's a spoof of course but the graphics made me think AGS, and the choosing a frontman to use as your fighter, plus the addition of unlockable Tenacious D characters gives it just enough scraps of flesh on its bones to makes me wonder...
