Yes, the CallRoomScript works!

And it's a much easier solution that checking for global ints in rep_ex. :-)

Thank you!

Hello.

I don't know if it's a "beginners question" or not, but it sure drives me into black desperation.

I want to have my own custom GUI that will work like the default InputBox does.
So, I made a GUI ("gInputBox") with a textbox called "InBox", it's set to PopupModal and everything.

Let's say that player clicks on his/her Bible of Satan.
Such script is then executed in the inventory interaction:

Display("What are we searching for?")
gInputBox.Visible = true;
string answer;
Display("Alas! Your search for %s is in vain", answer);

As it is now, when you click on your Bible, the game immediately displays the GUI and "Alas! Your search etc." without waiting for the player's text input.

The script doesn't wait for the player to type anything in the text box.

Unlike the default InputBox.

I could put all that in the textbox's "On Activate", but:

1) It's a terrible work, as my game uses plenty of "Input boxes" and I would like to keep the respective scripts in the rooms where the gInputBox is called;

2) Plenty of reactions to the player's text input deal with objects and other stuff that CANNOT be run from the global script.

How can I pause the local script when the gInputBox is displayed and then continue it when the player types something??...

Help!

Bad news, my boss won't give me any days off that week.

No!...
The slavery still seems to hold strong in the viking countries.
This news unmade my day. :(

As I mourn the demise of indication of the scaling level under mouse in the editor, I still dream of something that would be even better: a dummy character/object that could be placed on a walkable area in the editor to see how it obeys the scaling/lighting settings without having to "test game" all over again, apply corrections, "test game", apply more corrections etc.

Ah, Blazej und Manolo, how could I now resist paying at least a short visit to mittens, even though my appearance there will be as swift as the beat of a butterfly's wing (and surely as graceful).

This news is better than 11 very good news!!!!!

I'd try to bring an artificial plastic leg of Specimen no. 5 to your honour!

I'm using this module, and it's so good...

but I can only imagine how great it would be when NPC's, not only the player character, could MultiSay...

Eh, dreams...

Oh La La!!! Will you do a visit!?!?! :D YEAHHHHH!!! MIO AMICHO, BAMBINO CARO, GELATO, MOLTO GUDDO!!!

Quintaros, Disco... I have booked at your hotel. Perfect Hostel, MontMartre... See you there.

Goldmund... Are you open to threesomes or swingers? if so, we will comment about that in Mittens.

Dear Nacho, I can honestly say that my heart beats faster and my breath quickens when I only think about the forbidden pleasures you offer.

I call this year's edition... PERVITTENS!

Wait, you mean a threesome with Quintaros and Disco?

You are a true friend, mr Puma, and a great implementor!
Thank you for the Say!
Thank you for the Say!

Though ashamed for my long quietitude, I only want to tell you here that me and Manolo are dying...

Dying to see you in France!
Ah, hah hah! Oui, oui, voulez-vous couchez avec moi? Ce soir! Oh la la! Omelette!

My lips form a wondrous smile when I think about our reunion.
You can whip me prudently for absence in the forums, but Mittens frequent I want.

Um, maybe I shouldn't vote, as a biased party, but why do you need a separate parameter for obeying the "Say" setting, when it would be enough to change the setting from "Say" to "Don't say", or the other way around?

If it's a hassle for people who wanted to use DisplayOptions without player character saying them, the settings can start with "Say" turned off. :-)

Um... Hello, I guess :-D

CJ, this is a fantastic beta. Simplified Global Variables make it so fast and easy to script now! I only wish they were there three years ago, maybe my game would have been finished by now then...

I also adore the display dialog option thing...

But!

Shouldn't it make the player character Say the selected option if it is marked for saying in the dialog editor?

EDIT:

Also, it seems that it ignores the "Show" option.

This module is wonderful!
It will allow me to drown players in plethora of zany responses more easily! Also random!
Hooray!

Wow, I love it how everyone accepted the meeting by the Nelson's Column, never minding the fact that it stands in Trafalgar Square.

Columbus Column. Columbus. In a port at one end of Las Ramblas.

The ViaMichelin website calculates the diesel and tolls cost at around 70 euro, let's round it up to 80 in case air-conditioning and luggage weight uses more fuel (of course we'll know the exact amount after arrival).
It means around 15 euro per person.
#176
Ouch, I've missed the fact that Papa Puma already settled everything :o

Cool, so we're full now!
Let's make arrangments not later than this week, as we'll be absent later on!

If not, and they are tremendous, people in the back may carry them on their knees. :-P
Do you also want to go with us, Magintz?

edit: the car looks like this:

Should be no problem.

If Goldmund intends to travel on after Mittens rather than going back in the same direction that would mean you'd have to take the train back to Madrid if that's where you guys are flying home from. Just thought I'd bring it up in case it wasn't thought about. Would be a bummer if you had to order traintickets at the camp and find them sold out (although that'd be unlikely).

No, we return through Barcelona. But what time do your planes leave from there, Nika/Gold crew?

As for the 16th, we propose to meet at 2pm by the Nelson's Column in Barcelona.
Also, please PM me your cellphone numbers.

So, it's Disco & Layra, we'll make a pretty multinational car!
I sense an In-Car Singing National Folk Competition!
As soon as Dominika turns down her Depeche Mode, that is.

edit: what time are you 2 guys in Barcelona? I guess we should schedule a meeting time/spot...
