3. Dialogues should contain valuable information for solving the puzzles. Important dialogues shouldn't completely disappear after hearing them.

I absolutely agree with your list except for this point.
I think that in most amateur adventure games dialogues ONLY contain information for solving puzzles. Nothing interesting about the character, his/her story, another viewpoint on the game's plot etc.
Play the Callahans' Crosstime Saloon and look how the dialogues there were pure joy to read. I WANTED to talk with other characters, because I knew their words are going to be funny or deep or whatever, not because I wanted to solve a puzzle.

Amazing looks.
Release it soon!

Heh, I see you included a "hit" button on your GUI.
I did so as well, and... it's used only once in a really long game.
Drop me a word once you find any reasonable use for it ;)

Yes, a good shepherd, that's right, but...

First of all, the shepherd is dead and they're not following his call at the moment, but the call of others/media.
I bet it's much harder to, say, abstain from pre-maritial sex than to march or light a candle.

Second of all, funny you should mention Hitler. Because that's all I have on my mind at the moment.
Observing this movement, general agitation around me makes me wonder if those people marching, singing songs or stopping at 21:37 in total silence would feel much difference if the call was to break Jewish' shops' windows or set fire to a bad man instead of a candle.

I live close to Jana Pawla II street. The whole damn several-kilometer long street is lined with candles. I saw two drunk hools, barely walking and singing incomprehensibly, stop and relight the candles which went out.

Does mass hysteria for goodness makes it less a malady? Maybe. I'm just feeling strange.

Wow, you sure are meek for a nihilist! ;-)

Yeah, I was sad that night, when he wrote that little note and when he said "amen" and died.
I never felt angry at him for attacking homosexuality and contraception, for I don't believe that a watered-down church will survive; you have all this post-modern neo-paganism if you want to both go to heaven and fuck freely.

But...

Remember how I always tried to defend believers from teen atheist catho-bashers?
Well, this I decided to change.
Poland is in a very strange state the last week, traffic jams everywhere, strange initiatives ("Let's turn the lights off at 21:37 EVERYWHERE!") abound, hunts for those who don't take part in mourning (TV reporters asked my father and also a bartender in Italy why they came to work and then debated if they believe their reasons or not).......

I had respect for the Pope, but I don't have respect - and I'm afraid of - the masses.
Those stupid, easily manipulated groups of people, who march whenever somebody beats a drum.
So I tried to share some of my views on a Polish internet portal and I was immediately bashed.

Which lead me to invent this aphorism:
Mourning performed by Polish catholics is like a dog sitting by its bowl.
Everything looks fine and dignified, but don't try to look into their dish or they'll bite your head off.

Thank you and thank you!  :=

Yesterday I got a job in the biggest Polish science-fiction magazine.
It's for a 3 months probatory period, but it's a job nonetheless and I can finally make things I love with a lighter conscience.
The work put my participation in Mittens in question, but at least I can - and will - finish Donna!

(I hope...)

There's really not much left in terms of locations, the game still misses lots of animations and music tracks. But it's nothing in comparison with scripting the whole story together. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, as one of the largest (and one of the longest in production) AGS games is nearing the completion.

HAAAAAAAARRRR!

H31M0R returns, and he returns with a Mittens Proposal unable to resist!
So I won't!
And I'll come! Oh so hard!
And I'll come a married man!

I really, really hope this Greek Mittensoikos will happen!

Darth, I understand that sometimes a mod has little to do and yearns for some action (it must be hard for a sith, dozing in torpor) -- but why locking promo threads?
Somebody might find it, I don't know, through Google or just browsing this forum, and this somebody might post some encouraging & praising message, resulting in a heightened motivation for the developer.
It's always nice.
And it might happen even after five months.
Why this locking?

I get diarrhoea.
If I have enough time, that is.

Another thing I do when I get nervous are push-ups.
I'm not very strong, so I do series of 15. But on nervous times I can amount to 45 push-ups a day!
After the push-ups I get calm instantly and at least I have some advantage from a stresfull situation.
If my life continues to be shitty, I'll look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in no time.

!Achtung Farlander!

If you're really so eager to sign out of christianity...

I dare you now to post a scanned piece of paper, on which there's written "I hereby resign from the ownership of my soul and give it to Satan for eternal use", with your real signature.
Come on, Nacho.
I dare you.

Ah, I'd love to see Egypt! And when visiting the Sphinx, I would draw some nonsense picture on it with my yellow crayon!
Great photos, but on my monitor the riders are galloping on something green which looks more like a meadow, not a desert.

Edit: Steppe. Or a prairie. Or savannah. These are the right words for the terrain they're galloping on (on my monitor).

I really like the screenshots - the majestic buildings and structures compared with tiny humans remind me of my visit to Moscow...  they're full of atmosphere and I'd love to spend some time in this universe.

Ize, watch the Taxi Driver - it could give you some ideas about an incentive for your protagonist more complicated than "being sent into some missions". We (well, at least I)miss harsher, dramatic games.

That's our advantage, damnit: no company checks if our product is suitable for children. Let's use this advantage!

Also, I just remembered that "Witch Night" by JetXl and IEatButter has some immoral content, including my favourite "interact with yourself" response.

If we ever meet, I'll be kicking your asses for 5 minutes each for forgetting Gary Oldman and Tim Roth.

EDIT:
Oh, and I'll be doing something else as well to all who forgot Rocco Siffredi.

I have Pinnacle Studio v9 Deluxe ...
While I find it not as full featured as I'd like, it does add titles easily and they work great!Ã,  I've made a few DVDs with it already; creating titles, credits, etc.Ã,  and they all turned out really well.
I just got my hands on the newest Adobe Suite w/ Premiere, After Effects, Audition, and EncoreDVD and they're supposed to be miles ahead of Pinnacle ... I wonder what was going on with the titles?Ã,  Are you using an older version of Premiere?

The version's number 6, so I suppose it's not very old.
We've made the titles as separate frames on another track (transparent bitmaps from Photoshop) for Premiere's title editor sucks big time - it's just dirty, small and slow. Then we added movement to them. It came out very jagged and jumpy, not to mention they became horribly pixelated - perhaps a transparency problem?
Anyway, now a friend came to us and she teaches us to use After Effects, we'll see if it'll be better...
#255
After Effects?...
I remember I had a disk with "After Effects" written on it... somewhere...
Hm, maybe I'll try this first, and if this fails, I'll check the P-Studio8 Trial - it is more than 100 MB, not exactly a small download...

Thanks to both of you, I was losing hope someone will answer!
#256
Big thanks, captain Scuthbert!

DOWNLOADING..... now!

There's a really good look to this screenshots...
And Gilbot is right - the Roger paintover is very convincing.

Blade, my dear compatriot, the idea is very nice.
You seem to be fond of Sienkiewicz...
Once you're interested in the historical subject, you might get some funds from Ministerstwo Kultury or even sell it to one of those educational magazines - provided there's no copyrighted material in your game. Of course, you'd have to make a Polish version, but there shouldn't be any problems with that, no?

Hey,

my girlfriend's going to have a presentation of her workshop's project.
It's going to be a slideshow in a movie format (avi) - just some photos appearing one after another.
The problem is with adding titles to them. They're supposed to move in and out, scroll, roll, appear and disappear etc.
Dominika has done it in Adobe Premiere. It seems that Premiere doesn't handle adding titles too well - the movement is really jaggy and jumpy and it's not the fault of any codec used to export the movie.
It seems that Premiere just sucks this way.

Here comes a question to you, my wise friends from the whole world:
Do you know of any programme (freeware VERY preferably) with which you can add titles to a movie? We are looking for something which gives you complete control of the titles whereabouts, their movement and position, font etc.

Help?

Anyone?

Thanks for your opinion, dasjoe! But now I've already bought it, it's as if you told a youngster that his sweetheart has an ugly nose: he will never see it.

The price of the Acer grew by 350 euros when I asked about replacing the combo drive (I'd have to buy a different model if I wanted a DVD burner) -- and this was the deciding factor. I'm not very rich.

Besides, Centrino's got Squinky's dad's blood on its hands, so...
