Bought and own a Dreamcast for one reason and one reason alone:

Shenmue.

Awwww yeah ;D

Can't help you with your question though.

I second that. That was the only reason I ever bought a Dreamcast. Funny enough. Shenmue 2 was the only reason I bought a Xbox (Damn you Lan Di!). Weird how those are the only true great games in my opinion. Great games and wishing they develop the 3rd and port everything over to the 360. Here hoping a game developer will take hints from those games and start making like minded games.

On topic... if someone was to attempt to make AGS game accessible on consoles would it not be better to try for more modern consoles? People are hesitant to play their old consoles for if they ever break, getting it replaced may prove difficult.

A cleverly disguised troll is still a troll nevertheless. I have my doubts about this whole situation and even though I have plenty of free time, none of this is worth sparing even a second more for this charade. Icey, if this is who you really are - well then - I feel sorry for you. If not, then spare us of your ridiculous comedic act.

Seriously... The second screenshot says by Square Enix & Icey Games? Listen, I know suing you would not be worth their time but if they did it would be funny as hell. Get your head out of fantasy land kid or your going to end up in a lot of trouble one day. I'm usually not one to knock people but there is only so much bullshit people can take before they put on their thigh high boots and walk away in disgust. Oh and I guess congrats are in order for completing your game. While I'm at it, maybe I should congratulate Square Enix too? /RANT

Interesting. I may enter this if time allows, if only to help spark some interest into this competition again. Will edit this post later if I come up with anything. Peace.

Well, there are a ton of great games coming/already out this year so the pressure is on for developers/publishers to get their games out at the right time so a few products with bugs are going to be common. To be fair, some of these games are pretty awesome even with the few problems they have and don't really hurt the overall experience. RDR is one of many good games out and coming out that have a few hiccups but given the scope of the game it's pretty understandable. Rockstar is one company I'll continue to get games from because of their history of putting out some impressive and polished titles. But it is a sad day indeed when you have to start downloading updates to console games to fix bugs. But not all that bad considering the older days when there was no way to fix console game bugs...

Well, I've put away the exploring part for a bit and decided to speed speed play through the story missions just to see what gets unlocked. Done about five story missions in Mexico thus far and the game is getting harder though no annoyingly hard. I'll replay it a bit later after I finish the story and see what sort of fun I can dig up. I've started wearing the poncho outfit which is pretty much the first outfit you wear plus a old poncho over it... not exactly Clint Eastwood but it'll do for a now.

The side games are proving fun though horseshoes is rather boring though not hard once you figure out the timing. Black Jack is and always will be my favorite card game. One of my favorite past times on the game is lassoing a bandit and seeing how far I can drag him before he dies. Good times.

As far as Alan Wake goes, not sure. Heard mixed things about it. Doesn't really seem like my cup of tea though... a little too much action and not enough adventure. But that's just me. Personally I think this game is well worth the money. Next game on the list is UFC Undisputed 2010. Peace.

Well personally I've not played that much of the story missions. I'm having too much fun just exploring the world and seeing how things play out. There is a lot of little details throughout and they are great to see. It's the first game I've played (That I can remember) where your clothes actually looked damp/wet after being out in a storm. I've been hearing that the PS3 version does not look as good as the 360 version but I can't say for sure as I've only have a 360. There are some hiccups though - just last night every cart drawn carriage in the game just stuck in place bouncing up and down forcing me to restart the console to fix it. There are a few other minor things as well but overall it was well worth the purchase.

Lmao. I must have been really tired - totally didn't see that - Been playing the game until my eyes are about to burst from lack of sleep. Forgive me for breaking the forum rules. Moderators, feel free to get rid/lock this post. Sorry about that. Chalk this error up for tiredness/laziness.

Honestly this game is wicked fun. It has a few hiccups but overall it has been one hell of a experience thus far. Just wondering if anyone has gotten this game yet and what your thoughts are about it? Personally I'm loving the weather effects, attention to detail, and just about every facet of this great game. One of my favorite moments so far was when I got drunk in the saloon, stumbled out the door only to be knocked over by a group of men on horseback dragging a man down the road by a rope. Lucky for them I was too sloshed to get revenge. Peace.

HUM..SOUNDS GOOD BUT NOT GOOD...
Icey, I tried to defend you somewhat and give you the benefit of the doubt. As much as I dislike the thought of saying this... I can't make up my mind whether or not you are a troll or if you really are like this. If the first is the case, please stop. If the latter is true then maybe you should wait a year before requesting help or even posting and take that time to let your maturity develop a little more with the added bonus of understanding how to interact with others and understand their advice. Peace.

Congrats on the game being finished. It's a shame I can't play it as I lack my own computer at this time and the one I borrow uses Linux - and WINE is being a pain right now, so...

c. leksutin?

Not to sound harsh or anything but I do hope that was a joke, even if a poor one. Agent 47 was a good friend of ours, at least us older members, and he would not come back in such fashion after his mysterious disappearance during his move so many years ago.

Moving on; the people on this forum use to be better than this. Sure the OP may ignore the advice he is given, his posts may at times be poorly written, and even his conversations may beg for sarcastic remarks - but we're better than this, right? I dunno, times change but I like to believe that the people here are better than some of their comments make them out to be. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Peace.

[edit]Just realized I may have sounded like an ass. Didn't mean to. I've not felt so hot lately and I tend to not be very nice when I'm ill. So, apologies.[/edit]

You people disappoint me! I've only read a few pages but very sad to see no IF games given love. So I'll do it some justice. Zork - A blast from the past. Blue Lucuna - An innovation of the evolution of IF. My favorite two IF games of the past and present. They don't get much better than these two in my opinion. When you can create a game(adventure) that entertains without the need for graphics, sound/music, and animations -then you my friend- are doing something right.
"Blue Lacuna" is Interactive Fiction, as are most of the Zork games (the latter three of that series being the exception there - certainly I feel both Nemesis and Grand Inquisitor are excellent adventure games).

Interactive Fiction is a form of adventure games. A game does not have to be graphical in order to be counted as an adventure game. 'In common usage, the term refers to text adventures, a type of adventure game where the entire interface is "text-only".' ;)

Oliwerko gets my vote as well. And seeing as this events was not very successful, I don't see any point in extending the voting process. So on that note, congrats Oliwerko. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for the next event.
#56
Well as much as I dislike the fact, this event was not very successful- so let's go ahead and cast our votes for the two people that did submit a piece. They were both good in my opinion.
#57
Well I don't see any real need to drag this competition on. As there has been sufficient time and limited entries this event will now end on May 5th, so if you have anything you wish to submit please get it in before then. Voting has also been changed to May 5th until May 7th. Thank you.

Start Date: April 16th
End Date: May 16th
Voting: May 16th - May 23rd

Thats one hell of a fortnight...

Yes, I'm well aware that the length I set in is a bit longer than usual. But given how this event doesn't always get the most submissions I thought it was a good amount of time. Should a decent number of people submit something the duration will be shortened, of course. This is just to ensure that anyone who wants to enter in a piece has ample time to do so but as soon as it is apparent that this event has stagnated or that everyone who is interested has submitted something, then the competition will be closed and voting will commence. I just felt it was best to give more than enough time to enter than to make people feel they are forced to come up with something quickly and in doing so not being able to submit something they are pleased with. But as said, the length can always be shortened.

Anyway, good first entry. Does anyone else plan to submit something or should we just declare this a no contest? Cheers.
#59
Well excuse me for getting to this rather late. I forgot I had entered and did not think to check back. I guess I'm glad to see that I won the first comp entered even though it was not finished. I'm new to this competition thing so bear with me. Also, sorry I was not around to vote! I had some computer trouble... you all know how that is. I would have voted for Babar though!.

I think for this competition the theme should be about gaining something you really want while at the same time losing something very dear to you. This can be fiction or non fiction. Also, it can have any genre such as war, romance, science fiction, horror, etc, or a combination. It is up to you. It can be as long or as short as you want. The competition will end May 16th and voting will commence for up to a week after that. If no new entries appear after a amount of time then the competition will be shortened. I apologize if this is not the best idea for a theme but it will have to suffice for now. Let me know if this theme has been done before and I will come up with a different one.

Start Date: April 16th
End Date: May 16thMay 5th
Voting: May 16th - May 23rd May 5th - May 7th

Again, thank you for voting for me last time out. It means a lot to me. Looking forward to see if this gets any responses. Until next time.

My guess is that the end will come from biological warfare and not so much nuclear.

Also, on a side note - While I enjoyed Fallout 3 it can in no way hold up to the first two. Until they add in the little stuff that made those first games great it will never overcome them.
