I like using General Midi these days, just for fun. It really tests your skills trying to make a good-sounding song with terrible-sounding instruments. :)

Constistant or not, just make sure it sounds good.

I could start the song if you want...

Good news everyone!

Just a few more sounds and some testing (quality assurance) and Apprentice can be yours to download! Check out the Completed Game Announcements section of the AGS forums in a few days and you won't be sorry!

I really like that 16 bar idea!

We could pass around a MIDI file, each of us composing an additional 16 bars to the song. No rules, but just be serious about it. (i.e. keep the drumtrack the same)

This could sound really great.

Nice lyrics, mitar. If you rap them for me, I could probably make some sort of a groove behind them.

The character you made doesn't quite work with the style of the backgrounds. He looks too shaded and 3D rendered.

I like the last two backgrounds the best.

Oh, by the way, the lyrics are in the midi file. They're in track 4.

Let's all sing along, shall we?

Nice hierarchy, but where're the musicians?

Anyways, I put some lyrics into the CJ anthem. Check out the new version here:

I revised it a bit -- the east indian melody didn't quite make it. It was too mysterious and tense anyways. :)

Enjoy!

Nice art, Trapezoid. Maybe that can be our flag for the CJ cult.

Actully, I think I might be able to use those lyrics, Minimi. I was thinking I'll revise the song a bit, whip out my trusty bass guitar and keyboard (88-key, fully weighted, by the way :)) and perform the song.

I probably will need one of you guys to sing the lyrics, because if you heard me sing them, it would not only drive CJ into hiding, but everybody else.

Anyways, guys, come up with some more lyrics! I'll be busy plugging them in and performing the song.

Yeah, I was planning making some lyrics, but then I got carried away and made that east indian sounding melody.

If you have any ideas for lyrics, please let me know!

In honor of CJ, I have made this little song.

Dig that slap bass groove!

Nice bagpipe song, EldKatt. You might want to play the song in through a keyboard instead of entering it note by note -- it would sound a like more less mechanical.

Maybe add one of those Celtic drums and a fiddle and turn it into one of those mixolodian jigs. :)

Yeah, I have problems with the linking program, too, just like juncmodule described. I just thought it might just be a compatibility issue with Windows XP.

I'll let you know if I figure anything out.
